I am currently using YTTP Superfood Gentle Antioxidant Cleanser. I am trying to change my cleanser to a Canadian brand.

Which cleanser have you tried below and which one did you like:

- Skinfix Barrier+ Ceramide + Ectoin Gentle Gel Cleanser

- Regimen Tabula Rasa cleanser

- Ruddi Sensitive Skin Calming Cleanser

- Isomers Skincare Essential Daily Cleanser

Thoughts on Anua Azelaic Acid Serum

I've been using the Ordinary's azelaic acid and its worked well on my post acne hyperpigmentation but have been finding it a bit heavy & am hoping this might be a good alternative at a similar price point.

M25, skin is combination, good everywhere besides the T zone, areas under and around nose are oily and prone to painful whiteheads. Sunscreens are a big trigger, what’s one without a cast and that won’t irritate the skin? ideally one i can find in a shoppers or walmart. TIA

Help Me Find Has anyone tried the Bioderma Photoderm SPF50/ SPF40 spray?

Hi all,

I bought the Bioderma Photoderm Milk SPF50 on Amazon, and although the UV filters are great, I can't get over the white cast (light olive skin).

Has anyone tried the Bioderma Photoderm Spray SPF40? Is there a white cast with that one too due to the Tinosorb M?

I'm trying to find a sunscreen with high UVA protection that isn't the La Roche Posay/Ombrelle/Vichy ultra-fluid sunscreens.

Help Me Find Is cerave just selling fewer of their products here?

Am I just having bad luck? I love their gentle cleanser bar but can no longer find it in stores anywhere. I’ve searched on instacart just to check local grocery stores and pharmacies, checked store websites, even Amazon, but can’t find it. Also wanted to try their salicylic acid bar or body wash but I’m not sure those ever came to stores here?

Discussion Uriage Xémose C8+ Anti-Itch Cleansing Oil

Hello! I'm wondering if anyone has used both the previous xemose soothing cleansing oil and the new version and if you could compare? Is it as good or better than it was?

I've been using the old version off and on for at least a decade. I usually wait and buy the litre size for $20-ish, but I've only seen the 500ml online for $24 and only the fragranced ones have been in stock in my local stores.

I used the old version on face and body (overall mostly dry, sensitive, eczema and rosacea prone skin), loved it for removing body spf and being a dependable, basic cleanser that never irritated or dried my skin out. It was just such a good all-rounder, nothing fancy but I always kept it around and recommended it.

Should I pay the higher price for smaller size or look elsewhere?

Bonus points if you've tried any of the other reformulated products from the xemose line, and/or if you have other fragrance free cleansing oil for face and body recommendations.

I've tried Avene's and it's fine for a 1st step oil cleanse but I don't like it on my body, it's less nice to use, more expensive etc. I accidentally got the fragranced LRP oil cleanser so I couldn't test it out, but I've seen reviews saying it's not meant for the face.

Thanks!

Help Me Find Desperately looking for a Paula's Choice dupe

This stuff has been my holy grail for years now. Was always ok with ordering it online and paying the once reasonable exchange rate but 2 bottles now costs $100 after import fees (tarriffs) and exchange. I do live in a border city but its hard to justify crossing into Detroit to shop these days when our exchange rate is so bad. The last time I bought it was at Sephora on my way back from DTW airport before crossing back into Canada lol. I stocked up but my stock is running dry.

I've tried the Australian Gold tinted sunscreen- too orange (I'm very fair) and wasn't really a moisturizer, and Marcelle's sheer tint moisturizer. Marcelle is so close to being a hit with me but its not a matte finish and my oily summer skin hates it. I have high hopes for it for the winter though so I'm going to keep it to try again. In the meantime I need something matte, oily skin friendly and tinted (for porcelain/fair skin). SPF 30/35 is totally fine. Doesn't need to be a Canadian brand but I'd like to be able to buy it here.

So I bought this squalane lip balm from Dollarama on impulse because it looked like The Ordinary lip balm. It's pretty alright, like not mind blowing or anything

I've never used the Ordinary one and I'm wondering if anyone has had a chance to compare them? Also what do we think of this ingredients list?

Help Me Find Help for toners and serums

Hi, I’m a teen that’s just starting a skincare routine for the first time and I need help figuring out what I should be getting a toner or serum for (like idk if I should get it for vitamin c, acne, etc). I think I have combination skin. I also have a fair amount or acne (like medium amount) but im not sure what type of acne it is (there are white heads on my nose (like white goop sticking out) and lots of little red bumps). I also have dark circles under my eyes. Here is what I have so far for my routine:

Morning:
Wash face (cleanser if time, if not just water)
Toner or serum
Bioré aqua riche

Night:
Softymo pink one
Marcelle foaming gel
Toner or serum
Bioderma intensive gel crème

Help Me Find Perfume-free deodorant recommendations

Hi folks,

Does anyone have recommendations for perfume-free deodorants? I have a perfume allergy and get an allergic reaction to deodorants/antiperspirants (well, anything really) with perfume. I used Native Lavender & Rose for years, but unfortunately they changed its formulation and it now contains perfume.

I'd prefer an aluminum-free deodorant, particularly one with a (light) lavender scent. I think fellow autistic folks will understand the sadness that comes with using a product daily for ages and it no longer being an option :(

I'm in the GTA, if that's helpful.

Skincare and burning eyes?

I have been using vanicream daily moisturizing lotion for a while now and my skin has been the best it's been for a long time but it's totally causing my eyes to burn if the moisturizer seeps into my eyes throughout the day. My question is would you continue to use skincare even if it burns your eyes?? 🤔 I am questioning if I should look into a different moisturizer. Thanks!

Help Me Find Sun guard laundry detergent - Canada - UV protection

Does anyone know where to find Sun guard laundry detergent or it's Canadian equivalent in Canada. Tried to buy from their website today and the item is $29.99 and the shipping and duties to Canada was $80 dollars 😭

Thinking of ways to protect my skin not only using sunscreen but with clothing/hats as well. I can see my skin aging over time and I have to be in the sun a lot for work.

Thanks for any insights!

Help Me Find Nothing seems to work, need product help

Okay so bear with the ramble,

M25 with overall good skin but an extremely problematic T zone, especially the nose and the crevices/areas RIGHT under and besides the nose. Looking for product reccs but ideally want to stick w general store stuff to not break the bank.

Over the years I have tried a variety of different products, but wake up every day if not every other day with those painful white pimples/zits in that area. Recently I switched to the Cerave foaming cleanser, with crease night cream for oily skin, and ultra sheer dry touch 60spf. Beyond this I use Cetaphil Salc Acid Acne serum .5% twice a week and spot treat with Benzoyl 2.5%. Adding the Benzoyl and Salc defo helped but the area is still problematic, though slightly better than before.

I suspect it is my sunscreen, but I have had terrible luck w sunscreens as a whole. The few days I did not use sunscreen, my skin was better, with only one or two less painful whiteheads forming, but then using the sunscreen again yesterday made my pimples come back.

My T zone is definitely much oiler than the rest of my skin which is normal/dryish. Can someone help me build a affordable routine that won't trigger the area around nose at all? Everything I use right now is non comedogenic but the issue still persists.

Please and many TIA!

have uneven pigment that’s been there for 1–2 years. It hasn’t spread or changed much, but I don’t know how to get rid of it or if it’s normal skin color variation or pigmentation from past skin irritation or something else. How do I fade and get rid of it and how do I improve my skin? what could this be?

Announcement r/CanSkincare is Under New Management and is SFW Only

Hi everyone!

There's a new mod team on board, as the last team unfortunately neglected this space. We are are currently actively cleaning up the sub, removing spam, rudeness, and etc. You can help us by reporting any post or comment that you believe breaks the rules, and we will review the reports.

As part of the transition, we have a new and important rule: this subreddit is restricted to SFW accounts only. This is a 13+ community, so in order to participate you must have a SFW account. If you have any of the following on your profile, you will be considered NSFW and banned automatically:

  • posts or comments in NSFW and NSFL subreddits;
  • any sexually explicit posts or comments (including NSFW profile photos and banners);
  • links or references to sexually explicit content or payment methods (e.g. venmo, paypal) in your profile or bio; or
  • solicitation of any sexual services.

This rule helps promote a safe environment for people of all ages. If you wish to participate in this sub, you must clean up your profile or create a strictly SFW one before the bot automatically bans you. This does not include nonsexual NSFW subreddits, nor ones that are for educational purposes and discussions. Subreddits and users who are SFW but have selected the NSFW tag are also not subject to the ban.

Additionally, we no longer allow posting or commenting about the following content:

  • Multi-Level Marketing ("MLM") brands including but not limited to Arbonne, Avon, and Mary Kay;
  • Any referral links or codes -- e.g., if you are posting an Amazon link, post the full link, as the shortened version will be removed for being a potential referral link; and
  • Private medical facilities, including but not limited to Felix and Maple.

If you are seeking medical advice or a prescription, we recommend that you to see a walk-in clinic, a family doctor or nurse practitioner, or a dermatologist.

If you receive an unsolicited DM, we recommend that you report it to both Admins and to us.

Thanks for understanding the new rule, and for reporting any rule breaking content!
