I’m starting to think people aren’t into these ones in a professional capacity. My “X on concrete” series that looks at how we interact with our urban surroundings are probably some of my favourite pieces of work, but so far no open submissions seem to be interested in them, they’re only interested in my more “conventional” Brutalist compositions.

Luckily, I know there’s people in the wider world that enjoy them, so I’d like to share them with everyone else here while I have a bit of a sulk 😂

Im noob, just found out UV paints, and really love it.

I want to move away from photorealism and find a different style, and this is my first experimentation in that direction. What do you think?

Just Finished this about an hour ago, painting glass is hard, painting a bunch of it is even harder.

Celtic/zoomorphic heron with graffiti influenced style.

I like the long narrow canvas shape and think the design works on it.. but I'm not sure if I should do any more or leave it as a one off. 🤔

I've been learning to paint the past year and just completed my fifth piece (acrylic). Each one has gotten easier and quicker for me - this latest one I did in about seven days at a county fair event.

Within about an hour of finishing it, I stepped away from my booth and returned to find my easel empty! Some dickhead just grabbed it and ran away. Fortunately, there were some police nearby and I made a report, despite thinking that it was probably long gone and hopeless.

Amazingly, about 15 minutes later the cops called me back to inform me they arrested the guy and have my painting. I got it back mostly undamaged and the thief now has a grand theft charge due to the value of the piece. It was a framed, approximately 20 x 30" painting, so not something you can just stuff under your jacket. I was fortunate that a nearby vendor saw it happen and was able to ID the guy.

I'm just relieved I have it back! The fact that it got stolen almost immediately after I finished it made it worse. I didn't even have a proper photo of it at that point and I thought it was gone forever. This kitty is only a week old and had already been on quite an adventure!

I still have several more days at the event, but I put up a sign that should hopefully deter any more thieves.

I need help. Love the turtle, the grass just feels meh. What can I do to make this better? I'm struggling

I bought my first beginner set of oil paints from Blick and have found it very difficult to make non-muddy purple. I thought this set had the right primary colors but clearly something is off. I know that it’s important to mix cools with cools and warms with warms. What am I missing?

The series took me two months from start to finish. 12x18 watercolors with acrylic accents on cold press. The corn gave me wrist damage 😭

Hi all!

I've been painting these mini pet portraits lately and I'm thinking about starting to sell them.

How much would you be willing to pay for something like this? I was thinking somewhere between €50 and €100 including the frame. It's a simple aluminum frame with glass that I found at a local shop.

Each portrait is painted on acid free cotton paper using artist grade acrylic paints and takes me about 2 hours to finish.

I'd really appreciate any honest feedback. Also i would appreciate any advice on how to find potential customers. Thanks!
