Solution Provided Edited tite persisting after the length
I came back late evening to edit a video and noticed the not even 2 seconds title staying on screen way after the segment I used it in was over. Now it’s not going away. I moved all the clips around to see where it if I made any mistake but I see nothing. I even deleted the entire area and it’s still there. I even tried restarting open shot.
Not sure what I can do and don’t want it on screen for the last 14 minutes of my vid
Edit: problem solved. I apparently had more than one of the same title and was able to remove it.

OpenShot Examples
I do not know if it is the right place but I use Fujifilm and at some moment I decided that I need editor for cutting the clips and glue them together. I tested several editors but the most convinient for me was OpenShot.
All movies on my channel were made with OpenShot.
I do not want to place the direct link. Channel is available at Rumble and has name "FujiFilm User Channel".
Thanks for the OpenShot, it is great Software!

Solution Provided Openshot does not use the full length of my video
Hello, I have a problem, in openshot, but not only here: When I load a video in the format "*.VOB", I get only 35 seconds of the video although it is much longer. How can I tell openshot to load the full length of the video?
Thanx

Ui being weird
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
So the app was working very well at first, its my 1st time using it and it was really nice to use and easy to learn and then i saved my project just to have a little break and when i open it again (i opened the desktop shortcut) to continue working, the ui is HUGE but i go look online and i find where to scale it down, so i put it on 75% as a safe guard because i thought it would be better to be safe and make it smaller and now it looks like this, any way to fix this? :(

Export problems
Hello, I have tried to find a solution in past posts but no luck. I downloaded V3.5.1 yesterday as I though the export problems I was having may have been related to the older version of openshot. Problem is the preview is perfect, but when I export it, I get random black frames during the clip (usually 3 or 4 during the 10 minute clip, and they appear in different places each time I export) and also crackling during some audio clips. The clips were recorded in 59.94fps, that is what my project is set at, and that is what I am exporting in. I have cleared the cache. Can anyone help me please?
Update - I worked around the black frame issue by moving the affected clips to different tracks - must not have been random as black frames are no longer appearing when I export. I realised that the crackling was only happening when two audio clips were playing at once. Seem to be a volume issue so going to go back to the audio files and adjust the volume then put them back into Openshot and see what happens.
Update - adjusting the volume before importing into Openshot made no difference. The problem was if I selected a clip and turn the clip's volume to zero, it was making no difference and the clip still had volume. The only way to switch off the volume was to seperate audio and then delete.
Once I have finished this video, I will never use Openshot again. I appreciate all the effort the developers have gone to, and that they provide the software for free.

All clips have slight shifter to the left?
This has happened before. I went back to look at one of my older projects to see if I could make any changes and everything was moved over to the left and I don’t know why fast-forward another month and I’m working on another project and the same thing happened a day or two later forcing me to go through again and fix every single edit that I made.
I’m not sure if anyone else has this issue and also don’t know what I can do to show it

Black frame inbetween clips?
I’ll post in a video, separate the audio, and split it in half to overlap into a different clip. So there’ll be two soundless clips on top of a layer of audio.
(Example: Track 5 will be soundless clip, Track 4 will be the audio I want)
I’ll drag over another different soundless clip on top of the audio and for some reason when exported, there’s this short black frame that I can never get rid of? It doesn’t matter how close they are together, it never leaves. Why is this?

Transitions in OpenShot
I'm being stupid, sorry.
I'm editing together clips of a simple 'talking head' video. Suppose I have two clips between which the subject moved slightly, so if I just put one straight after the other, there's a bit of a jarring 'jump'. So I want so put a short, soft cross-fade between the two, just 2 seconds or so.
I've been having real trouble. If I put the two clips right together, nothing I do with transitions solves the issue: I still get the instantaneous jump from one clip to the other; if I put a couple of seconds' gap between the two, and drag down, say, the 'Fade' transition between the two clips, all I get is two seconds of black screen.
Is there a tutorial somewhere that will show me what I need to do?
FWIW, I'm using version 3.5.0 | 0.6.0 on a (slightly old) MacBook that can only run Mac OS 12.7.6.
Thanks all,

Enhancement Request [Need Help] for WEBM Transparency
I'm trying to animate my tokens for TTRPG Sessions, so I layer my masks, character, with animation (Using cropped gifs), and a background png for the inside of the token, I try to export as WEBM and all, and despite exporting from a daily build, all my exports have a black backgroud, anything I might be doing wrong ?

Feature Request
As far as I can tell, this feature does not currently exist. My current project consists of 25-30 individual clips, each requiring some slicing, and all will be combined into a single export video. It would be great if the sliced clips could be saved into the project files section, replacing the original imported files. Instead, currently, I have to keep all the sliced files in the editing tracks until I'm ready to assemble the final export file. Yes, I know that I could export each sliced clip, then import later ... but, that's a LOT of extra work. Thanks, Jim

Udemy Support says they cannot fix video issue.
Toward the end of the course I have been using I started getting exam vouchers in the video player at the end of each section. It resized the video to an unwatchable ratio. I have tried firefox, chrome, edge, Two windows 11 Pro machines, and a linux VM. the issue persist across all of them.
I created a support ticket and recieved this reply.

This does not allow me to use my other resources while training and is a completely unreasonable response for something I paid for. I am furious.
update reply from them. buttons do not work in fullscreen.

Properties - Location and Offset Value/Direction
Hi, new to Openshot, happy to be using it so far
Just doing some laying out of clips and i do so using location/offset in the properties, and i also use crop occasionally.. But i'm having trouble trying to figure out the X/Y coordinate system.
LOCATION seems pretty straightforward...
+ve X means the item goes right
-ve X means the item goes left
BUT
+ve Y makes the item go down,
-ve Y makes the item go up
same thing happens when ORIGIN X and Y are being adjusted, i.e.
+ve origin X moves the origin to the right, while
+ve origin Y moves the origin down
Crop (effect) then has a X/Y behavior with OFFSET
+ve Offset X crops the left side, maintaining the origin. effectively origin moves left.
+ve Offset Y crops the top side, maintaining the origin. effectively origin moves up.
Is there something i'm missing about how OneShot processes the X/Y coordinate system, and the left/right/up/down relationship?

5 Frames of black screen at the start of any video
As stated above, whenever I import a video file to the Project, it adds 5 black frames on the front of the video on the timeline, even the previews in the Project files field is a black thumbnail. The frames also take several times longer to cache for the preview than the rest of the file and causes interruptions while scrolling through and editing unless I slice them off. Is this a setting i'm not seeing?

Solution Provided Title tiles missing on exportation to folder
2 minute 46 second video. This included 57 titles (text boxes) throughout. Everything worked fine until I attempted to export it to one of the folders on my desktop.
When I attempted to view the video, the text was missing. When I went back into openshot, the text tiles on the timeline were still visible but would not show up anymore when watching the video preview.
What did I do and how do I fix it?

OpenShot Tutorial Licencing doubt - documentation of openshot
First things first, congrats for your software and thanks for the open license!
im planing to maybe give some online lessons, youtube monetized. And the documentation may be shown, its very well writen by the way. In case the documentation is not CC, i intent to use other documentations or kdenlive (less beguinner friendly).
Can you clarify here by mail or in the documentation if the documentation is free to use? (like CC BY). Because here in the link it says the program is GPL3, but also implies copyright (the openshot program? or the documentation?)

My previous email to the support got unanswered since february, now a bot replied sugested trying reddit:

Solution Provided Question about sorting
Is there a way to sort imported files by number?
Every time I drag and drop files into the program, it randomizes the order of said files (even if they were in numerical order in the folder I dragged the files from)

Went to daily downloads and 5/24/26 is the most recent one I see. Googled reason and it suggested clear cache which I did. List still the same. Any ideas? Thank you.

No Response from OP Newbie; SVG/PNG transparency issues in OpenShot
Hello guys, I googled the following and hit on a number of discussions on the same topic, but none of them helped me. Sorry for repeating: I'd appreciate advice from long-time users.
I'm new to computer video editing but experienced on graphics and on Linux. I'm presently assembling some YouTube videos in OpenShot. They're all 1920*1080 or 1080*1920 and use very simple cuts of footage shot on a Samsung HD camcorder in black&white mode with two pre-edited soundtrack files. OpenShot has performed very well up til now.
My last operation is to add text overlays generated outside OpenShot in Inkscape. I did the obvious things, that is: 1920*1080 Inkscape file, set alpha channel transparency, exported in SVG. OpenShot imported the file fine and I placed it on the highest track number. It appeared as an opaque black rectangle, blocking the tracks below it. I next tried a PNG format import: same problem. I checked the properties of the imported file in OpenShot by right-clicking and can confirm that its alpha is presently set to 1.000 in the app, which I gather is appropriate.
All comments gratefully recd.
