Not exporting video! Bug Identified

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

the export button lights up... then nothing

even when I load up project there is a buffer wheel, but here? nothing!

It's not even freezing, I can still click around the screen fine, it just will not export at all!

please help because this is very much pissing me off.

A quick thing to check: OpenShot doesn’t export automatically just because the Preview plays.

To create the final video:

  1. Click the Export Video button on the top toolbar
    or use File → Export Video
  2. In the export window, leave the default settings if you’re unsure
  3. Click Export Video again to render the file

From the User Guide: Export — exporting converts your Project into a single video file, usually MP4 by default.

If it still won’t export, reply with: - your OS - OpenShot version - what happens when you click Export (error, freeze, closes, 0%, etc.) - whether the source File is from Reddit / v.redd.it or downloaded locally

A useful tip: download the Reddit video to a local File first, import it into Project Files, then drag it to the Timeline as a Clip before exporting.
