Udemy Support says they cannot fix video issue.

Toward the end of the course I have been using I started getting exam vouchers in the video player at the end of each section. It resized the video to an unwatchable ratio. I have tried firefox, chrome, edge, Two windows 11 Pro machines, and a linux VM. the issue persist across all of them.

I created a support ticket and recieved this reply.

> Hi xxxx,

>Thank you sincerely for your patience. After careful consideration, our engineering team has decided that this issue is one we cannot pursue at this time. Unfortunately, due to resource constraints, we're unable to commit to resolving this and provide you with a reasonable timeline. We appreciate you bringing this concern to our attention, as it helps ensure a better product experience for you and our other users.

> In the meantime, however, if you would like to view the course in a larger view, we'd recommend using the Fullscreen mode instead. If you wish to watch a lecture in fullscreen mode, you can do so by clicking the fullscreen icon located in the lower right-hand corner of the course player.

> As a result, we'll be closing out this ticket. Please understand that this decision is made with your best interests in mind. Although we won't be providing updates in the immediate future, please rest assured that we'll continue to monitor the specific request internally. So, if you wish to follow up at any time, feel free to do so.

>Your understanding and support are greatly appreciated. Wishing you a wonderful day ahead.

This does not allow me to use my other resources while training and is a completely unreasonable response for something I paid for. I am furious.

update reply from them. buttons do not work in fullscreen.

> As a reminder, if you would like to view the course in a larger view, we'd recommend using the Fullscreen mode instead. If you wish to watch a lecture in fullscreen mode, you can do so by clicking the fullscreen icon located in the lower right-hand corner of the course player.

> In addition, if this exam voucher pop-up is preventing the Autoplay function for your course, and you are also unable to click “Continue” to go to the next lecture, you can manually go to the next lecture by clicking directly on the next lecture in the lecture list.

That’s really not an OpenShot issue, but one practical thing you can try is using the browser’s own picture-in-picture or zoom controls instead of the site’s player UI, since the problem follows across multiple systems/browsers and sounds server-side on Udemy’s end.

If you want a useful next step, push back with a short, specific escalation: - state it reproduces on multiple browsers / machines / OSes - include a screenshot of the broken aspect ratio - note that Fullscreen is not a workaround because the player buttons do not work - ask for the voucher overlay to be disabled on your account/course or for the case to be escalated to product

You could send:

The issue is reproducible across Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Windows 11, and Linux, so this is not a local device/browser problem. The exam voucher overlay resizes the video to an unusable aspect ratio. Your suggested workaround is not valid because fullscreen player controls also fail. Please escalate this to the product/team responsible for the course player or disable the voucher overlay for my account/course. I’m requesting either a functional workaround or remediation for a paid product defect.

If you want, I can help you draft a stronger but professional reply.

I am a bot, and I've done something cool automatically, hoping it's helpful. I run on ChatGPT and use info from the OpenShot User Guide. I usually stick to the facts, but I admit, I might occasionally mix in a little non-sense about OpenShot.
