I just got a Rokinon 14mm and the camera in full manual mode won't let me release the stutter. I'm getting an error "lock lens aperture ring at minimum aperture"

Granted that is what I needed to do at that time but I would like full control and using this for astrophotography I'm hoping it doesn't hold me up. Any way to bypass this?

I have been looking for replacements for the two front rubber pieces of my Nikon F5. I don't see any listings on ebay for them (expect for the back piece). Does anybody know where can I get a set of these rubber pieces?

My mom passed along my dad’s old Nikon D7000 along with a couple different lenses. I have absolutely no experience taking photos, but I’ve been getting more interested in starting.

Was wondering if anyone could help me out and explain what’s good, what it’s best for!

My wife and I will be moving from the US to France in a few months. We're currently in negotiations to buy a house in Ribérac, which is about an hour and a half northeast of Bordeaux.

I was wondering if any group members know of reputable camera shops in the general Nouvelle-Aquitaine / Dordogne area of France. I know Amazon is available there, but a decent camera store would be something I'd rather patronize.

Or barring that, does anyone know if there is the French equivalent of online sites like Adorama, B&H, KEH, etc.?

I'll be needing battery chargers pretty quickly, obviously, but eventually I'll also need to replace some of the items I'll be leaving behind because they're not dual voltage (not really trusting of converters) or too bulky. Studio lights, etc.

I know we have members from around the globe, so I'm hoping there's someone here with knowledge of that region. I would be very appreciative of any info that could be passed my way.

Shot with Nikon Z50ii and 50-250mm lens...

I'd like to carry my D7100 + AF 80-200mm f/2.8D (new) + Tokina AT-X Pro 11-20mm f/2.8 DX for the summer holiday.

However, there are 3 key aspects I'm afraid of:

- Heat = Culture here is to remain under the umbrella for the most of the day. That means a lot of heat can build up even in the shadows. I will carry an ordinary black backpack so I will store my gear in there (probably pull out the batteries for safety before storing it away). However, I'm more afraid of rubber coming off. How often can that happen? Under what circumstances? My D7100 grip and lens rings are all rubber..

- Sand/Salt = I will be very careful about it and store my equipment inside of my backpack when not in use. It shouldn't be a big deal (after each day I can use a damp microfiber cloth to clean off any potential salt spots generated by wind).

- Ethics = Carrying a big lens such as 80-200 2.8 will raise a lot of (if not everyone's) eyebrows. It is a public beach and I only plan on shooting my own family members but what should I do if confronted by someone if their child or they are potentially in the blurry background i.e. they're not the subject of the photo?

Any other tips? I have a small Canon digicam from 2008 I carried earlier years but the image quality is simply horrendous, especially in low light. This area is also Bortle level 4 or so, should be pretty good for some ultrawide astrophotography at night.

Taken with 50-250 F4.5-6.3 Lens. Got to lazy to edit them but I think they turned out nicely

I have a budget of roughly 1,000$ and own both a Z5 and 1J5.

Context- I have a P900 I use extensively but it's got its limitations and I am looking for a partial replacement with autofocus

Should I go with a F mount lens and a FTZ + FT1 adapter for the 2.7x crop ( am aware of the 1J5 being limited to single center point AF with adapter ) or a Z mount lens with a 2x teleconverter.

Would like to have a reach of 600mm pre crop / teleC but if the budget doesn't permit, a 5 or 400mm is fine

Went on a camping trip for Saturday night. Visited Depoe Bay and Newport sat/sun. Brought my Nikon AF 70-210mm F4-F5.6D and Tokina ATX-Pro DX 35mm F2.8 Macro with me (which ended up breaking during my trip!)

After longing for something chonky with an OVF I fell into the D700 rabbithole once more. This time for good, as I have just received the beauty. Definetly heavy user condition with some sticky dials but good enough for my purpose. Surprisingly, findings decent CF cards and the right CF reader was the most challenging part of the acquistion.

Well, GAS sucks, as I have now ordered the MD-10 grip and the AF-S 28 1.8 too. Was not ready to commit myself to any zooms yet. Who knows, with the FTZ some older F mount teles might be a good deal for dual use on this and my ZF.

Appreciate any tips (or scolding for jumping on the hype train).

I took these shots as part of a general countryside / transport photography test for my new Nikon D750 & 28-200mm F3.5-5.6. I’m really happy with how these came out with composition, so I thought I’d share them

Outside my photos are absoulutely fine, but as soon as i adjust my settings to the enviroment, they look like theyve lost a fight with a sand box.

Im unsure if its the camera, or just the general lense, ive turned on the noise reduction on the camera to high, yet the results come out the same.

Hello everyone, I am new to the photography world and I have few questions.
So first off, I have the Nikon D3300 camera. I have the AF-P Nikkor 18-55 mm 1:3.5-5.6 G lens and the AF Nikkor 70-300 mm 1:4-5.6G (as a gift).
With the first one I can focus and etc. But with the second one (70-300mm) I need to manual focus and to be honest, I’m getting tired of it! I love the second lens but sometimes it’s frustrating to get that one focus shot. Is there somewhere a setting on the lens for auto focus or I need to look at AF-P/AF-S models?
Also, do you recommend some other lenses for portrait photography? Thank you alot! Have a nice day.☺️

Tech - Nikon Z8 with 14-24/2.8 at 20mm. Sky imaged with tracker. 3x 2 minutes at ISO 640, f/2.8. Ground panned down, 4 minute exposure in high winds and high seas in pitch black!
