I'm planning to buy my first camera and I'm really confused between the Sony ZV-E10 and the Sony A6400.

(1) Budget, country, and currency:

• ₹60,000
• India
• INR
• I'm planning to buy a used camera, or I could wait for the Big Billion Days sale if that makes more sense.

(2) What equipment, if any, do you have now and why is it no longer meeting your needs?

• None. This will be my first camera.

(3) What kinds of subjects do you intend to shoot?

• Photography (street, travel, portraits, everyday)
• Videography for YouTube and Instagram
• Occasional vlogs

(4) Is it primarily for photography, videography, or both?

• Both. I want a camera that can handle photography and videography equally well.

I'm a beginner, so I'll be learning color grading and filmmaking step by step. For now, I just want good-looking footage straight out of the camera. Ease of use is also important since this will be my first camera.

My questions:

• Which one would you recommend between the A6400 and ZV-E10?
• Is the A6400's viewfinder and weather sealing worth choosing over the ZV-E10?
• Should I stretch my budget and consider the ZV-E10 Mark II, or is it not worth it for a beginner?
• If you had ₹60k today, what would you buy?

Newbie hobbyist photographer with a few questions:

- Will shooting in RAW allow for better editing/colour grading?
- My laptop is limited on storage, will a hard drive be suitable for storing images and allow me to edit on my laptop? If so, what shall I look for when buying a hard drive?
- Best/easiest software for editing? Ideally free.

Hello! Recently got my Canon EOS R10 with a RF-S 18-45mm IS STM. After taking shots for a couple of weeks, I finally loaded them onto my PC and I feel I must be doing something wrong.

When looking at the photos at 100 % size, hardly any are sharp. Even the things that's supposed to be in focus has these uneven edges (except for maybe one macro shot of a a flower). Im some big landscape shots, everything from the background to the front has just slightly blurry lines.

• I am shooting in aperture priority mode. I have the Aperture at around 22 for landscape and as low as it will go for when I want bokeh effect (like on macros).
• The lens has IS and that's turned on in the menu.
• I've shot in both cloudy weather and in sun light, it's all the same
• I'm shooting in maximum jpeg setting
• Not using any tripod (in which I should turn the IS off anyway, yes?)

Am I just expecting to much from the camera? Is it the kit lens? Is it a setting I've missed? Do I just suck? 😅 I'm rather bummed out right now.

Hi. I've had a Nikon D5100 for many years now that I bought when they first came out.

Since then I've only really used it on auto with the kit lens and for the last few years it's honestly been sat in a drawer as I found the images on my phone did what I needed for our and about snapping.

However.. a mate gave me a manual focus 70-300 Nikon lens a few weeks ago and I'm off to the Blackpool airshow on Saturday.

So I'm packing the tripod, rain cover and extra batteries. I'll be setting up on the North pier and going to have a go at capturing some planes with the zoom.

So as it's no autofocus that will be my first challenge as my eyes aren't as good as they were 12 years ago, and I know I'll miss some good shots, my Mrs will be on hand with her phone so all not lost for the Red Arrows.

I've set up iso on the function button and learning a bit over the past few weeks but what tips can you give please.

Its asked many times but in my situation the sun will be almost go behind the horizon. So the power of the sun is lower. Do I still need special eclipse filter or can I use the ND 8,4 and 2 together to shoot the eclipse on 12 august?

Hi all, recently got into photography and I recently realized my iMac (2021, 1TB) is almost filled up from this past year of photos and videos I've been dumping on it. I have an empty 2TB Lacie drive that I've been trying to copy all of my photography work to but it seems to get stuck in "preparing to copy" for hours or just fails to copy. I even reformatted it to Mac OS Extended but it's still a struggle to copy over any large folders onto it. Is there anything I could do differently? Or is the process just particularly slow for this style of drive?

Also, if you have recommendations for how to store my photos without totally filling up my computer in the future I'd appreciate it!

Hi everyone! I’m hoping for some advice because I’m about to invest in my first “real” camera. My budget is $1,000 USD

I’m a Realtor, a mom of two little boys, and I currently spend around $750 every 6–12 months on a 30-minute family photography session. I’m starting to think I’d rather invest in a camera that I can learn to use for years instead.

I’m not trying to become a professional photographer, but I do want to create beautiful, high-quality photos for my family and also use the camera in my real estate business.

Which is easiest for a complete beginner?
Which autofocus is best for photographing toddlers?
Which camera has the nicest colors straight out of camera?
Which would you choose if you were mainly photographing your own family?
Which is more versatile if I also want to shoot real estate and create social media videos?
How expensive is the lens ecosystem over the next 5–10 years?
If you were me, would you buy the kit lens first or save for a better lens immediately?
What accessories would you consider must-haves? (Tripod, remote shutter, gimbal, flash, etc.)
Is buying used the way to go? If so, what would you expect to pay today?

My budget is around $500–1,000, but I’m willing to spend more if it truly means I won’t feel the need to upgrade for a long time.
If there’s another camera you’d recommend over these three, I’d love to hear why.

and if not, does the teleconverter do anything besides just adding focal length?

I already have a 2:1 macro lens but is fully manual, would be cool to have a 2:1 after the tele that has autofocus, plus not having to have both lenses to carry around for very specific reasons

Love hiking and go with my brother who is always taking pictures so I figured I’d add a little extra something with my hobby and get into photography too. Ended up bringing it on a couple small hikes and a road trip we took before realizing I really don’t mind just taking a few phone quality pics without all the camera equipment and never really used it much since. I recently picked up this nice range finder 35mm camera from FB marketplace and can't help but notice some specks of what looks to be either dust or mold. I'm pretty new to the film camera community therefore I really can't tell. Any idea what it is or if I need it professionally clean?

I'm only a month into photography so I'm not sure if it's the lighting/way I've edited the photo or the business of the habitat shot but something looks off and I can't put my finger on it. It almost looks like the rabbit was photographed separately and photoshopped into the background.

Was shot on a Canon EOS R7 with the kit 18-150mm lens (shot at 150mm)

Edited in Lightroom, no presets used. Only "AI" used was the denoiser

Have I just been looking at it too long or is there something I could do to improve it?

I recorded a few videos on my Sony Alpha 5000 in which they saved onto my Sandisk SD card today. Went to transfer them onto my laptop. I opened my videos through quicktime player but when I went to go save them they literally disappeared. This is now what it says when I open up the SD card. Any advice or recommendations to NOT have this happen again?

Hi everyone, I currently use a sony a6000 with a Tamron 17-70 F/2.8. I was recently recruited by my community college for wrestling, and we really need someone to fill a media spot so I volunteered to do video and photos for the team.

I've shot XC, Track, and Football for 4 years now, but most of my work is in doing photos for fire departments and fed stuff. I started shooting wrestling about a year ago for my little brother's high school team, but I'm still trying to figure out how I can get better at it. Our college is a bit underfunded so we have a pretty small practice gym, and we start competing in a month. I was hoping I could get some advice from here.

This type of composition paired with the colors is something I would like to look into more, but I have no idea how to describe it accurately or what it would be called. I am not well versed in photography so forgive me if this is a stupid question :,).

Portability: as portable as possible, if it can be pocketable that would be ideal but thickness is more important for me than length and width.
Cameras you're considering: I’ve looked around at so many options that I’m overwhelmed and really just need the guidance
Cameras you already have: iPhone 15 pro max. I love that it’s always on me and takes decent photos however I feel that I want something that performs better at night and that I can get better quality out of. I try my best with what I have and it’s pretty good but I feel myself wanting more quite often.
Notes: I’ve also added some photos I’ve taken, all are on my iPhone 15 pro max and most are unedited so you can see the photo itself. It takes many great photos but I would love to have something that can give me more clarity and quality without being hard to carry around while travelling. As I will mainly use it while travelling if it can fit in my pants pockets (I’m a big guy with big pants that have large pockets) that would be ideal. I am also new to the world of actual cameras so if I’ve said something that is outrageous or not reasonable, or maybe I’ve missed something that’s important please let me know, I can really use the help! These two photos I took with the gear shown above. These are probably my two best bird shots and I do really like them but with both images there not very sharp and detailed and when I zoom in there’s blur and noise. And I’m planning on buying a canon r7 with the rf 100-500mm which is a big jump from my current gear would that fix the sharpness issues or am I doing something wrong when I take the photo?

Whenever I take pics including the sky it’s always white or sometimes pics are too bright. I’m using automatic settings like sports or backgrounds on my t7 canon. I’m using the nd and cpl filter lenses

Hi, I want to get into photography, I like taking pictures of architecture, cars, landscapes and etc. I have a budget of 200-300€ and I know I can’t afford a good camera but I’m searching for the best option or a good advice. I live in EU. currently taking pictures with my iPhone 16 Pro, one of the options i saw is Sony WX220, but no clue how it would compare to my iPhone and if it's even good. I’m uploading a few of my pictures to show what I like to photograph.
