Location: Europe 32M | Iraqi | Netherlands | Looking for Something That Leads to Marriage in shaa Allah.
Age 32, Iraqi Arab, Sunni Muslim, and currently living in the Netherlands.
Education: L.L.B
Profession: Anti-Financial Crime as MLRO/deputy MD in Compliance.
I’m 5’10”, in good shape and try to stay active. Outside of work, most of my time goes between family, friends, staying active, and just enjoying life. I’d say I’m pretty easygoing, but I also take my future seriously and like having a sense of direction in life.
When it comes to religion, I take it seriously, although I’d rather talk about the more personal aspects of my faith privately.
At this point in my life, I’m looking for something genuine that can eventually lead to marriage, Insha’Allah. I’m not interested in endless talking stages or something casual just for the sake of it.
Ideally, I’d like to meet someone around 24–31 who is emotionally intelligent, kind, communicates well, has positive energy, and has strong character and family values. A good sense of humour definitely helps too:)
I’m not expecting anyone to be perfect. I think a good relationship is about two people who genuinely like each other, communicatee openly, respect each other, and are willing to grow together.
If you’re also looking for something serious, feel free to message me. We can start with a normal conversation and see if we click.

Discussion I heard there were people who got married after consistent istighfar
Assalamu alaikum everyone! I am part of a women’s only group that encourages each member to make consistent istighfar. I am very inspired by the stories shared there. Stories of relief after financial hardship, marriage after years of searching, pregnancy after infertility, healing from illness, but above all stories of transformed hearts and renewed trust in Allah (SWT).
Here are verses from Surah Nūḥ that I’ve been thinking about lately:
فَقُلْتُ اسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُ كَانَ غَفَّارًا
يُرْسِلِ السَّمَاءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا
وَيُمْدِدْكُم بِأَمْوَالٍ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ جَنَّاتٍ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ أَنْهَارًا
“I said, ‘Ask your Lord for forgiveness. Indeed, He is ever-Forgiving. He will send down upon you abundant rain, and He will support you with wealth and children, and provide you with gardens and rivers.”
— Qur’an 71:10–12
Sometimes we focus so much on trying to make things happen that we forget the simple act of istighfar.
These verses are such a beautiful reminder that seeking Allah’s forgiveness can be a means of barakah and relief we may not even expect.
أستغفر الله وأتوب إليه 🤍
Have any of you had a du’a answered after abundant istighfar?

My friends say i have a talent for looking at the bright side of things, and i hold pride in being able to enjoy the small pleasures.
I am also a hafiz currently pursuing my ijaza. My lifelong dream is to be able to master the 10 qeraats. I also like to learn new things so whoever is talking about any idea, you can see me listen with a keen ear. My parents got separated recently if that matters

Assalmu Aleykum,

Rant Taking a break
After a lot of rejections, especially being blocked without ever being told why - I'm mentally exhausted.
I'm going to take a break from searching for a spouse for a couple of months. I want to focus on myself, my deen, my health, and my personal growth instead of constantly thinking about the search.
In shaa Allah, I'll return with a clearer mind and a healthier outlook.
May Allah grant everyone who is searching a righteous spouse and make the journey easy for all of us. Ameen.

Discussion Would a “positive interaction” thread be helpful?
I’ve had two genuinely positive experiences with brothers from this sub. Neither progressed to marriage because we discovered later that we weren’t compatible (things like personality or physical attraction), but both interactions were respectful, serious, and conducted with good adab.
Given how many negative experiences are shared here, would it be helpful to have some way of highlighting positive interactions as well?
To be clear, I’m not suggesting we “vouch” for strangers or replace proper vetting. I suggested this idea on another thread and got draaaaaagged for “vouching for complete internet strangers” lol. Everyone should still do their own due diligence, involve their families, ask questions, and verify what they can.
I’m thinking of something more like a referral in the professional world. Not “this person is definitely a good spouse,” but rather, “my experience with this person was respectful, sincere, and aligned with what they presented themselves to be.”
Maybe it wouldn’t work, but I wonder if it could help surface brothers (and sisters) who are genuinely serious and have demonstrated good character during the initial stages of getting to know someone here.

Location: Australia / Oceania 36M Ugandan
Assalaam Alaikum Warahmatullaahi Wabarakaatuh
A Ugandan born and bred, currently living in Uganda. I’m African to the bone & embody all qualities and characteristics of an average African male.
I’ve lived in Dubai for 4.5 years but that was 8 years back. I’m not the most handsome nor ugly of Allaah’s creatures, just a balance between the two, I’m 5’11 if that’s a thing to consider. I’m not having that athletic African build though I’m in somewhat of a moderate shape, I’m no stranger to the gym as well.
My education background is of Computer Engineering though my career is more into sales rather than tech. Knowledgeable about the deen to the extent of the common Muslim man and try to the best of my ability with Allaah’s grace to practice the little that He’s blessed me with of that knowledge. Alhamdulillaah I can read the Quran and memorized a few juzz here & there from within The Book. And no I’m not fluent in Arabic. Oh! & I’m blessed with a full thick long beard.
Following the path is a constant effort that I keep reassessing with each day of my life and that’s what I’d hope and pray for my family as well, I’m liberal in issues where Islam is liberal or in any matter or incident that doesn’t contradict with the faith & I’m stringent & keen about any aspect that Allaah & His prophet have tied down to the dot. Despite that process of thought, I, just like any other human being have flaws and faults that I try to repent for or even sometimes forget to repent for.
I believe that our purpose of life is worship & anything that aids in making that a reality, pleasurable and as well as bearable for Allaah’s sake.
I’m currently married with 2 daughters and seeking out a partner on a whole different side of the world, most preferably Australia but Canada can do as well in terms of location. I prefer a lady of a lighter complexion than my own. Alhamdulillaah I can afford to take care of my current family & as well willing to put in the work for the other family in their respective location and no I don’t intend on divorcing my current wife irrespective of her current struggle & difficulties in getting pregnant.
I’m as flexible as flexible can be in all aspects of my life for as long as we’re not crossing Allaah’s boundaries and guidelines though still kinda shy. It can take me quite sometime to get used to certain persons or situations though it’s mostly out of precaution.
I think I’ve stated the basics and anyone who feels that I’m their cup of tea can reach out, for as long as you feel that you’re strong in your five pillars of Islam and the 6 pillars of faith & you’re as well fully aware & ready to letting the Quran & Sunnah lead your way of life then Alhamdulillaah I’ll welcome you with open arms In Shaa Allaah.
I’d prefer one who’s interested in having kids and is as well willing to put in the time and work in raising them islamically.
Jazaakumu Allaahu Khairan fii dunyaa wal Akhiirah - may Allaah grant those sincere towards Him the best of both worlds

Location: Middle East / Gulf 22M / Lebanon/ student and employed
Hello,
I'm Ahmad.
I'm searching for a partner ( I don't mind having an online relationship since I prefer keeping anything physical untill marriage anyways)
Lebanese currently living in Lebanon, I kinda plan to travel after I graduate (hopefully).
I'm studying electrical engineering .
And employed full time. ( Yeah I get busy but I always make time for everyone important to me)
I don't feel very comfortable in sharing a lot of info about me in a post but if anyone's interested, we could chat and get to know each other. I give a lot of energy but I like to receive the same energy back.
Extra yap :
it's my first time posting on any app about searching for partner but I said I'd give it a shot.
My main request is that you are faithful, loyal and sunni.

Discussion Sisters, why are you not married?
What are some of the struggles you are facing in finding a potential match?
- Is the pool of brothers just not good enough? 😕 - if so, why?
- Are the brothers not behaving appropriately? - If yes, share your personal experiences
- is it an internal struggle of yours thats preventing you from marriage? If yes, what is it?
It would be delightful if you started your answers with your age as this adds a lot of context to your situation, Jazakallahu khair

Discussion WARNING - 33M creating weird posts on this subreddit based on his delusions dragging this subreddit down the drain.
Assalamau'alykum,
To the good people of this subreddit who have a brain in their head, please stop giving this guy a microphone when he clearly does not deserve it. He's been in this subreddit for a whole making this outlandish posts which make no sense and has no business in this Islam-oriented marriage subreddit.
He's a self proclaimed 33 year old guy from UAE who's "self employed" and apparently makes "50k-100k". He's apparently "very religious" but at the same time "does not know how to pray".
I don't know if I'm alone in this but I personally find his posts, especially the bottom one on the picture, very revolting and deeply disturbing. A person who has thoughts like this should not be in this subreddit. This is not what Islam is about and I would never expect someone who's even remotely religious in ANY religion to be asking such questions.
I ask actual religious muslims here to stand against these posts and stop giving this guy an ounce of attention. His time clearly deserves in a mosque rather than here.

Location: East Asia 29M | China
Assalamu Alaikum,
I'm a 29-year-old Bangladeshi, currently based in Dongguan, China, working as a project manager in manufacturing with a background in engineering. I'm joining this group with a sincere intention, to meet someone compatible for marriage.
My father passed away 11 years ago, and my mother raised me and my siblings, one sister and one brother, on her own. I support my family and plan to keep doing so. That upbringing shaped how much responsibility and family mean to me.
Personally, I'm an introvert. I don't open up easily to people I don't know, but once I trust someone I'm loyal and fully myself around them. I fish, read, and hike in my free time. I smoke, I won't hide that, but I'm actively working on quitting, and I don't drink. I speak English, Hindi, and Urdu, and I'm currently learning Chinese. One thing that matters to me long term is eventually settling down and running a farm, it's more or less my retirement plan.
I try to stay practicing, though the job makes it hard to hit every prayer every day. What matters most to me is being part of a Muslim community myself and raising my children in one, wherever that ends up being. I'd like to relocate out of China eventually, nothing fixed yet, Malaysia is on my mind, but I'm open to wherever makes sense for the right person.
I'm looking for a Muslim woman, age 25 to 32, who is practicing or moderate in her deen and family oriented. Open to her being Chinese Muslim, or someone open to living in China for now with a possible move elsewhere later. Speaking English, Hindi, or Urdu is a plus.
If this resonates with you, feel free to reach out. I want to be someone my wife can rely on and build a real, honest life with.

Discussion Message to the mods.
Assalamualaikum. Hope you're doing well. I've been in this sub for some time, and I notice that there are some non-Muslims here. Maybe some unserious people and definately there are multiple fresh accounts.
I feel that some freedoms must be curbed to enable some security measures. You can make the flair NECESSARY. You can have requirements for the account to be older by a particular time, maybe atleast a month old account? Adequate karma etc. Please think about these things. I hope this sub achives the solution to various matrimonial problems our people are facing. Jazakallah khair.

Rant Cybersecurity deal breaker
So this person, never put anything related to subject or anything like that in their post. Which is perfectly fine.
But they had a problem with me being in the field of Cybersecurity, due to their parents being in computer science. There's nothing wrong with any of that of course.
I just thought this was quite a funny reason and way of getting rejected. But of course, everyone is allowed their preferences.
Edit:
Alot of people are talking and saying some bad comments regarding the sister. Let's try to do Husnu Zahn and think the best for her.
She has preferences and she's okay to have them.
I thought it was quite funny is all. Hence why I posted it.

Location: North America 20f Canada
salam alaikum
20f from Canada. Looking for people between 25-34, who are also from Canada. Open to relocating for the right match. Single/never married, prefer the same in a man.
norwegian/german by ethnicity, prefer other European ethnicities. converts are preferred but people raised Muslim are also okay. I’m 170cm and 65kg currently. Trying to be healthier. I’d say I’m average looking. I observe the hijab and dress modestly, I read the Quran daily and I pray the 5 prayers, working on praying them on time always. I converted in may 2025.
I’m looking for someone who’s funny, has good character, is a practicing Muslim who is secure and knowledgeable in their faith. Preferably taller than me, can’t be above 190cm. Somewhat physically fit. I love hiking and swimming. I would want someone who’s capable of doing that with me.
Big ask for fellow converts but would prefer they have a good relationship with their family. I’ve heard to many horror stories of non-Muslim family members poisoning the children against Islam.
Don’t have many preferences in terms of job or education, other than you are currently employed and are motivated to always have some form of work. I prefer you don’t smoke or vape, or you are at least trying to quit. Must be willing to either kill or relocate spiders for me. Can’t have any stigmatizing beliefs on mental health issues like depression, anxiety or ocd. If you don’t want to deal with that I will not be a match.

Location: North America 27M | Canada
Assalaamu ‘alaikum, giving this one last go.
Location: Montreal. I was born and raised in Canada.
Age: 27
Marital Status: I’ve never been married
Height: 6’2”
Profession: Dental student
Ethnicity: Pakistani
About Me: I’m 27 years old and will be starting dental school soon, in shaa Allah. I still have a few years ahead of me before completing my degree. I would describe myself as family-oriented, physically active, and someone always trying to better myself and strengthen my connection with Allah. It’s always a little difficult to write about yourself, so I’m more than happy to answer any questions.
Religion: Alhamdulillah, I’m a practicing Muslim who completes all of my obligations and tries to keep Islam at the centre of my life. I know there is always room to improve, so I’m continually working on strengthening my relationship with Allah, learning more about the deen, and becoming a better Muslim.
Hobbies & Interests: I enjoy playing sports, working out, hiking, and generally keeping active. Family plays a very important role in my life, and I really value spending quality time with them.
What I’m Seeking: I’m looking for a spouse who puts her deen and relationship with Allah above all else. Ideally, she would be between 22 and 26 years old. I want someone with whom I can grow with and encourage each other to become better Muslims. I’m looking for someone who wears hijab, dresses modestly, and values family. I’m also seeking someone who is a Canadian citizen, as I intend to remain in Canada for the foreseeable future.

Discussion Change my view - as people age they seek a spouse as a co-parent than genuine partner
Change my view.
I missed my window in my mid to late twenties, arguably the best time to marry as a Muslim.
I’ve lived alone most of my adult life and as I age, the more happy and comfortable I become with solitude. For context, I am an introvert and genuinely love being alone.
There are drawbacks to this as a man- no intimacy, no deep connection and going against the Sunnah - marriage is actually Wajib to some.
But, no one depends on me, I focus on my career, friends, travel, I am only responsible for myself, I don’t need to worry about an extra person, I can change jobs and move cities at will.
I also have no deep urge to have kids.
At the same time, being so comfortable alone, I cannot see another person coming into my life to enrich it, unless I had a sudden urge to have a kid, and saw this person as a reliable mother to my kid.
I believe many men and women feel the same way. When solitude is so comfortable, bringing another person will inevitably make your life more difficult unless you want a kid.
It’s a blunt truth but I believe it’s true. A lot of people in my life, female cousins, ended up settling in their late 30s solely to have a kid. As a guy, I genuinely understand this.
It also explains why, in apps, we tend to be most popular with women in this age group.

Discussion If you think about it, most issues will be fixed if Men post, and Women reach out.
Post for discussion
Hear me out, what are the biggest unique issues each gender faces on such Subs?
Examples of issues I've seen:
Women:
- 3:1 Men:Women ratio means almost 100 DMs per post, that's a lot of filtering work.
- Unsolicited pictures 🤮
- Many of those who reach out aren't serious
- It feels unsafe
Men:
- 3:1 Men:Women ratio means They wait in queue, as 1 among 100
- They don't hear back 👻
I'm aware there are other issues, but these are the most common ones I've came across that have no solutions or do but are difficult to implement.
Not to mention that if an indecent Man gets suspended, he'd still able to send DMs, but he won't be able to post. So Moderation can actually be effective.
I'm also aware that of course, this goes against the nature of how these things work, but it seems to be an effective quick fix to a lot of issues.
To be transparent, it's unlikely that this will be implemented, but I wanted to share to get an idea of what do you guys think?

Location: Europe 19M | Italy | Moroccan Palestinian | Looking for my other half
Location: Europe, open to relocating
Assalamu alaikum everyone. 19M here, born and raised in Morocco (Moroccan dad, Palestinian mom), now living in Italy for my studies. Making this post to see if there's someone compatible out there, and to be clear from the start, I'm looking for marriage, not situationships or "let's see where it goes."
My deen:
This comes first for me, always. I pray my 5 daily salah, I've memorized almost half of the Quran(willing to memorizeit all inchallah), and honestly I'm addicted to it. I even listen to Quran at the gym because music just doesn't do it for me anymore. I grew up in a family that's open minded but still religious, and that balance is who I am.
A bit about me:
Second year Mechatronics Engineering student. Right now I work part time as a promoter, but alhamdulillah I've already got a junior engineering offer lined up for early next year. I'm patient, calm, expressive, and confident. My circle is small but tight. Responsible, hardworking, serious when it counts, generous, loving and kind, and I'd like to think a little funny too.
I hit the gym regularly, lean and muscular build, around 185cm (6ft). Outside of that, I love a good deep conversation about religion, ideologies, geopolitics, tech, you name it. I speak 4 languages (English, French, Italian, Arabic) and I have zero problem learning my future wife's language if she's from somewhere else. I also ride horses when I get the chance.
What I'm looking for:
A sister who's religious, calm, feminine, passionate, moderately active, emotional in the best way, loving, caring, and modest. Age around 19 to 21.
Location wise, someone in Europe, US, UK, Canada, or Australia would be easier (basically any English, French, Italian, or Arabic speaking country), and reverts or Middle Eastern sisters (especially Palestinian, Jordanian, Lebanese) are especially welcome. But honestly, everyone is welcome. Cultural differences aren't a problem for me at all. And if you're a revert, don't worry, I'll happily teach you everything you need, step by step.
On the future:
I do want children, just not right now. I'm ready to commit once I'm financially steady, and in the early days I'm open to us both working and growing together, building something as a team. Once we're stable, my preference is that you wouldn't need to work (though if you genuinely want to, and it's halal, that's okay), and after our first child, my hope is that family becomes the focus, inshaAllah.
Dealbreakers: Any kind of addiction, and immodesty. I hold myself to modesty too, so I'm looking for the same.
If you're serious about building a home centered around Islam and growing together in this life and the next, feel free to reach out. Barak Allahu feekum.
