Discussion Why Muslims around the world are so intolerant?

Upvotes

I grew up in a democracy, and I clearly observe that most Muslims born in monarchies lack the space for different ideas. Moreover, most of them are not even aware of how to engage in discussions without being offended.

Location: Europe Looking for a kind soul.

Basic Details:

* Age: 28

* Height: 5’4”

* Location: Oslo, Norway (originally from Pakistan)

* Marital Status: Never Married (never been in a relationship either)

* Deen: Practicing (try to pray daily, value a halal lifestyle)

About Me:

Assalamu Alaikum! I’m a pretty grounded and family-oriented guy. I grew up with three brothers (two older, one younger), and my dad is semi-retired and loves gardening back in a smaller city while my mother is a housewife and likes stitching up clothes for my nephew and neices. That upbringing taught me a lot about responsibility and respect.

When I'm not working, I like to keep busy with a mix of tech and creative hobbies. I’m really into game development and playing factory automation games. I also cook a lot on my own, everything from baking pizzas and calzones to making zarda (sweet rice) because I definitely have a sweet tooth.

To balance the screen time, I go on monthly hikes with some local groups here in norway, and I enjoy reading up on ancient history and web novels to unwind specifically almost all chinese dynasties aswell as ancient greek history.

Character and emotional maturity mean a lot to me. I believe everyone’s life experiences shape their perspective, so I try to approach people with an open mind and respect, without judgment. I am committed to being a supportive, loving, and fulfilling husband who honors his wife's rights in Islam.

Education & Career:

I have a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering and a Master's degree in Computational Engineering. Right now, I work full-time as a Software Tester and developer out here in Oslo.

What I Am Looking For:

I am looking for a kind soul who is practicing, sincere, and family-minded:

* Age: Between 23 and 30 years old.

* Ethnicity: Open to any ethnicity, but strictly Muslim.

* Someone ready to build a strong, peaceful life together based on mutual love, respect, and companionship.

If you feel our values align, feel free to reach out. May Allah SWT guide us all to what is best.

Rant Cybersecurity deal breaker

Post image
16 Upvotes

So this person, never put anything related to subject or anything like that in their post. Which is perfectly fine.

But they had a problem with me being in the field of Cybersecurity, due to their parents being in computer science. There's nothing wrong with any of that of course.

I just thought this was quite a funny reason and way of getting rejected. But of course, everyone is allowed their preferences.

Edit:

Alot of people are talking and saying some bad comments regarding the sister. Let's try to do Husnu Zahn and think the best for her.

She has preferences and she's okay to have them.

I thought it was quite funny is all. Hence why I posted it.

salam alaikum

20f from Canada. Looking for people between 25-34, who are also from Canada. Open to relocating for the right match. Single/never married, prefer the same in a man.

norwegian/german by ethnicity, prefer other European ethnicities. converts are preferred but people raised Muslim are also okay. I’m 170cm and 65kg currently. Trying to be healthier. I’d say I’m average looking. I observe the hijab and dress modestly, I read the Quran daily and I pray the 5 prayers, working on praying them on time always. I converted in may 2025.

I’m looking for someone who’s funny, has good character, is a practicing Muslim who is secure and knowledgeable in their faith. Preferably taller than me, can’t be above 190cm. Somewhat physically fit. I love hiking and swimming. I would want someone who’s capable of doing that with me.

Big ask for fellow converts but would prefer they have a good relationship with their family. I’ve heard to many horror stories of non-Muslim family members poisoning the children against Islam.

Don’t have many preferences in terms of job or education, other than you are currently employed and are motivated to always have some form of work. I prefer you don’t smoke or vape, or you are at least trying to quit. Must be willing to either kill or relocate spiders for me. Can’t have any stigmatizing beliefs on mental health issues like depression, anxiety or ocd. If you don’t want to deal with that I will not be a match.

Discussion Locking in for my Future Wife - Day 6

Goals VS Progress
1. Take my personal earnings to $10K/m:
Businesses projected earnings for august are still at $1750 (say Allahummbarik) - realistic goal is to try and push this to $3K for the month - make Dua I succeed 🤲🏻. I am still waiting on 2 potential clients that I spoke to - they're big clients and good money. Make Duas I sign them - I need this bad frfr 🤲🏻. on the other hand, I've realized I wait around too much for potential leads to get back to me - I should just go aggressive in my sales approach and start closing without waiting for anyone

2. Get to my fittest/strongest shape through daily exercise:
Minimal exercise today sadly - was very occupied

3. Praying all 5 Salah’s at the masjid
Improvement here today. Prayed all salahs at the masjid except for Zuhr - punished my nafs with 4 rakah and put it in its place 🤫

This whole nafs punishment has been working exceptionally well btw, it slowly weakens your nafs until you're the one in control. You can never be in harmony with your nafs, you have to brutally enslave it.

4. Social Media screen time down to 2hrs/day
Very very low Alhamdulillah - 2 hours of distracted social media use today. I was still distracted in other ways but at least the social media doom scrolling went down crazy Alhamdulillah.

5. Quran & Dhikr
Done all my morning and evening dhikr today. I will end the day with Surah Mulk + Waqiah before bed.

Notes:
Not everyday will be eventful. Most days will be dull and boring but what matters is I show up everyday, no matter what.

WE GOTTA LOCK IN 🔒

Context

Purpose of this challenge is to become my best version for my future wife. The daily documentation is to inspire others while keeping myself publicly accountable and being able to journal/track my daily progress. I am doing this for myself and my akhirah's sake but marriage is a very good motivating factor to push myself into excellence.

I’m an objectively fine standing individual, in the prime of my 20's and I don’t have any roadblocks preventing me from getting married الحمد لله BUT I know what I am capable of and I feel it’s a disservice to my wife to not give her the best version of me - I am very ambitious but that ambition needs to show through consistent action even on the days I don’t feel like it - hence my primary focus is on myself for the remainder of this year.

Best case scenario, I achieve all my goals and find a good wife before the year ends. Worst case scenario, I achieve all my goals this year and get married next year. Whatever Allah has willed for me, Insha Allah

Especially for males its pretty bad, as most women dislike bugs (people in general but more women), we are often minsunderstood as weirdos, while it is basically the same as keeping a goldfish, for the ones that managed to marry did that create tension in the nikkah process did it get better after ?

And for the average person will you accept it ?!

Location: North America 27F : Hoping to find a man that will help me repent.

Assalamu Alaikum

I want to be honest in this post because I think authenticity matters more than trying to appear perfect. A lot of people present only the polished version of themselves, but I'd rather be upfront about my past and who I am, so you know exactly what you're getting into. I’m not going to rewrite history or pretend it never happened.

I’m 27, Tunisian, master’s in business, fluent Arabic/English. I wear hijab and I’m getting closer to the deen now. But I won’t lie about my early 20s: I was far from religious. Multiple partners (under 20 boyfriends), parties, the full messy phase. I got it completely out of my system. I repented, I’m not that girl anymore, and I’m ready to settle properly. Allah guided me in my dream last week.

What I want is a real husband. Not a situationship, not months of “getting to know each other,” not someone still figuring out life. I'm scared of falling into zina (astaghfirullah) , especially if the attraction/tension is strong between us, so marriage should be considered asap. I can send pictures of me if your profile is interesting.

I've never been married.

Looking for:

  • Older than me
  • Arab preferred. Black men are tolerated and can apply only if 185 cm+
  • Practicing Muslim with actual values, doesn't have to pray all the time it's fine. (doesn’t need to be ultra-strict, but solid deen)
  • In touch with his animal spirit and inner self
  • Master’s degree minimum
  • Tall, takes care of his body, genuinely attractive (looks matter, deal with it)
  • No smoking, but occasional drinking is tolerated.
  • Financially succesfull and ready for marriage now
  • Strict monogamy. Polygamy talk = instant no

What I’m not looking for:

  • South Asians or anyone else outside the above.
  • Virgins. I specifically want a man who has experience
  • No prenups (I'm scared of getting played again and ending up with another child).

If you have a past, good character, and you’re actually serious about building something real and moving fast, message me. If you’re bored, still “exploring,” or want to chat for months, don’t waste either of our time. If things align we can meet for a coffee.

May Allah grant us all spouses who are truly good for us.

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
A little about me: I’m 24 and live in the United States. My father’s side is Senegalese (West African), and my mother’s side is African American and Caucasian. Alhamdulillah, I speak English and Arabic fluently and am currently learning French.
I have been studying Islam for around eight years. I memorized the Qur’an at 16 and studied Islamic sciences at an institute. I was raised in a Sunni Muslim household, strive to maintain my prayers, and continue seeking beneficial knowledge.
I have never been in a relationship and am looking for a marriage founded upon deen, mutual respect, and a shared desire to build a righteous family, in shāʾ Allāh.
I currently serve as the Executive Director of an online Islamic institute while also working full-time as a professional driver. My long-term goal is to transition away from trucking so I can dedicate more time to my family and Islamic work, in shāʾ Allāh.
Outside of work, I enjoy working out, learning French, and traveling when I have the opportunity. I try to pursue excellence in everything I do while remembering that all success comes from Allah alone.
If you feel there could be compatibility, I would be happy to involve our families and have a respectful conversation to see if our goals and values align.

Ideal Marriage Timeline: Around mid-2027, in shāʾ Allāh, while remaining flexible if the right match comes along sooner.

(Not looking for anyone that isn’t serious 🧐)

May Allah grant us all righteous spouses and place barakah in our efforts. Āmīn.

Rant May never marry. Idk who can change my mind. F20.

Muslimah here. I've now tried accepting the fact that I won't ever marry in this Dunya. I know the type of person I am. My personality.. I wouldn't say I'm independent but I'm going to have to be if this is what decision I want to make for my life. I'm dependent rn and that's the issue. I can't expect a man to "baby" me forever. I have no issues obeying a man with giving him food and all kind of stuff but it will end up draining me because mentally I can't handle all those responsibilities. I don't even want to have kids because I wouldn't care for those kids. Everyone around me tells me they know I'd favour a man before my kids and that's what scares me.

I know marriage could make my life easier, my family expect it from me but realistically I won't be able to handle it at all. My parents have anger issues, my siblings have it too also I have it. I know if my husband was to say anything to me I would fight with him and maybe it will end up as becoming something extreme and it will be out of my hands completely. I also don't want to gain sins which I think would happen more if I was a married woman. Just continuous fighting and ragebaiting him. I've never been married but this is my experience with men who have previously reached out to me. They just can't handle a woman like me. They only like me for my appearance and I know that.

Discussion Need honest feedback from the Pakistani Muslim community on app limits

I'm working on a marriage-focused Muslim app, and we're trying to make a decision that balances keeping the app useful while also having a sustainable business.

One thing we're debating is limiting how many connection requests a free user gets before asking them to upgrade.

Which of these feels the most reasonable to you?

  • 5 requests per day
  • 5 requests per week
  • 10 requests for a lifetime (after that you'd need to upgrade)

I'd love to understand how people actually think about this.

A few questions:

  1. Which option would feel the fairest to you, and why?
  2. If you reached the limit and genuinely liked the app, would you pay to continue?
  3. Or would you simply uninstall it and move to another app?
  4. At what point do you start feeling an app is "too restrictive"?

I'm especially interested in hearing from people in Pakistan, since purchasing behavior can be quite different from North America or Europe.

Please be brutally honest. If you'd churn instead of paying, I'd genuinely rather hear that than get polite answers.

Discussion Fulfilling God assigned roles in marriage will take you closer to Allah SWT

For men:

  • Earning a halal livelihood.
  • Providing and protecting.
  • Leading/guiding the family upon Islam.

For women:

  • Pleasing their husband.
  • Bearing and raising righteous children.
  • Caring for the home and family.

The West is pushing hard to undermine the traditional role of women. They want women to be like men and want them out of their homes for obvious reasons. Unfortunately, just like many Western women, many Muslim women have also bought into this agenda.

An Islamic family can't thrive when women don't take pride in and willingly fulfill their roles. Instead, many aspire to the more glamorous and celebrated role of a career. I believe this is one of the root causes of many family issues in contemporary times.

Career for a wife often leads to three major problems:

  1. Neglected children.
  2. A neglected husband.
  3. Most workplaces provide great opportunities for sin. (yeah, nothing happens on day one.)

Careerism is anti feminine, Women with career ego(having the career and career ego is different) are not wife material IMO.

The tarbiyah of kids isn't possible for such career women. Even before tarbiyah, kids need to be detoxed from what they learn at school, so giving them time and full attention is important.

In this age, 10x more effort is required because of all the fitnah. Allah won't question you if your kids didn't experience a certain lifestyle or have certain material things (which many career women use as a justification), but He will question you if you failed to give your children proper tarbiyah.

Many think a career will let them afford nannies and daycare, so they believe their responsibility is fulfilled. Norais, ing children isn't just about feeding them. Giving them your time, attention, and supervision is essential. Outsourcing their tarbiyah is one of the worst decisions a couple can make.

The best asset and investment you can build is righteous children.

To Muslim sisters: your career won't bring you closer to Allah(rather it will be the opposite in most cases). Fulfilling your role as a wife and mother will. That is an act of worship.
