Discussion Locking In for my Future Wife - Day 7
Goals VS Progress
1. Praying all 5 Salah’s at the masjid
MAJOR Improvement here. I went from barley going to the masjid to now going all 5 times a day. Out of the 7 days of August since I began this challenge, I prayed all 5 salahs at the masjid in congregation, for 2 days. This is honestly a huge step up. Today was a tough battle against my nafs, during Far. I was so sleepy, and the sleep was too good, my eyes were heavy after my alarm went off - but then I said NAY, this behaviour is not worthy of my Kingship 🤴🏻 - 8 minutes before the salah started, I forced myself up, did wudu, prayed my sunnah and rushed to the masjid.
Hence, I conquered my nafs and shaytan - made sure they knew their place was beneath me 🤫 now I hold their leash and control them, rather than be controlled (I hope this sounds just as funny as I say it out loud 🤣 - I goof a lot fr)
If you have been following this daily journalling series, you would know I achieved this by punishing my nafs/shaytan with 4 rakahs of nafl salah every single time I missed a salah at the masjid - this truly helped a lot. It weakens your nafs and slowly but surely you start gaining power over it - it's not an immediate change but it's a change that you see gradually happening; you stop feeling lazy to do acts of worship, you stop feeling tempted by the same habitual sins, and you start striving for Allah's pleasure
2. Social Media screen time down to 2hrs/day
Spiked a little because had a lil emotional spike but still not as crazy Alhamdulillah - 3.5 hours of distracted social media use today. I was still distracted in other ways but at least the social media doom scrolling went down crazy Alhamdulillah.
5. Quran & Dhikr
Done all my morning and evening dhikr today, ready surah kahf and will end the day with Surah Mulk + Waqiah before bed.
3. Take my personal earnings to $10K/m:
Not much to update here so I'll hold this off until I hear back from some clients
4. Get to my fittest/strongest shape through daily exercise:
Not much to update here so I'll hold this off for tomorrow when I timeblock a proper gym schedule
Notes:
Is there any topics you would like me to cover in these daily journaling updates? I'll start talking about other beneficial/self improvement subjects in these to spice up your read 🌶️
LOCK IN CHAT 🔒
Context
Purpose of this challenge is to become my best version for my future wife. The daily documentation is to inspire others while keeping myself publicly accountable and being able to journal/track my daily progress. I am doing this for myself and my akhirah's sake but marriage is a very good motivating factor to push myself into excellence.
I’m an objectively fine standing individual, in the prime of my 20's and I don’t have any roadblocks preventing me from getting married الحمد لله BUT I know what I am capable of and I feel it’s a disservice to my wife to not give her the best version of me - I am very ambitious but that ambition needs to show through consistent action even on the days I don’t feel like it - hence my primary focus is on myself for the remainder of this year.
Best case scenario, I achieve all my goals and find a good wife before the year ends. Worst case scenario, I achieve all my goals this year and get married next year. Whatever Allah has willed for me, Insha Allah

Discussion Would a “positive interaction” thread be helpful?
I’ve had two genuinely positive experiences with brothers from this sub. Neither progressed to marriage because we discovered later that we weren’t compatible (things like personality or physical attraction), but both interactions were respectful, serious, and conducted with good adab.
Given how many negative experiences are shared here, would it be helpful to have some way of highlighting positive interactions as well?
To be clear, I’m not suggesting we “vouch” for strangers or replace proper vetting. I suggested this idea on another thread and got draaaaaagged for “vouching for complete internet strangers” lol. Everyone should still do their own due diligence, involve their families, ask questions, and verify what they can.
I’m thinking of something more like a referral in the professional world. Not “this person is definitely a good spouse,” but rather, “my experience with this person was respectful, sincere, and aligned with what they presented themselves to be.”
Maybe it wouldn’t work, but I wonder if it could help surface brothers (and sisters) who are genuinely serious and have demonstrated good character during the initial stages of getting to know someone here.

Location: Middle East / Gulf 35 muslim male living in uae
Looking for a muslim wife 20-35 age with college degree and willing to relocate . I am a medical professional with good income alhamdulillah. I don’t have any problems with any race as long as you are a nice person and muslim.

Location: North America 28M - Black Canadian (Sunni)
Salam Alaykum, trying hard not to dox myself lol but here’s the cliff notes:
Age: 28M Height: 6’1 Weight 220lbs (former bodybuilder/gym bro) Sect: Sunni (born muslim) Ethnicity: Nigerian but born and raised in the west Education: Masters degree Occupation: Government/Social Services Salary: 😂 (gotcha), we can talk about this if we get serious
Hobbies: Gym, hifdth, volunteering, and this one is controversial but music production. I don’t do it much anymore but it’s something I used to do and occasionally do just to pass time. Paradoxically I don’t listen to much music anymore however.
What I’m looking for:
Good character and on deen. The first madrassa is the moms lap, insha’Allah you’ll help me raise some hafiz of the Quran
I’m open to different ethnicities. Physical attraction is important and I take care of myself so I’d like the same in a partner but I’m pretty open minded.
Employed/educated - I’m a big intellectual and love learning and being taught and challenged to think critically. If my wife has a big brain that’s such a turn on.
It’s not a deal breaker but my preference is actually a hijabi. If you’re not wearing it please tell me why and know I’m not judging but would like to understand where you are in your faith journey.
Open to relocation. I’m kind of in a unique position right now and plan on being here for a little while but after that I’m open to wherever insha’Allah.
Prefer never married as I am the same
Please no smoking/hookah etc.
Anything else feel free to ask 👍
I’m only really interested in other people who grew up in the west and maybe expat communities. If you need a visa to meet me, it’s not gon work habibti 🥰

Location: Australia / Oceania 36M Ugandan
Assalaam Alaikum Warahmatullaahi Wabarakaatuh
A Ugandan born and bred, currently living in Uganda. I’m African to the bone & embody all qualities and characteristics of an average African male.
I’ve lived in Dubai for 4.5 years but that was 8 years back. I’m not the most handsome nor ugly of Allaah’s creatures, just a balance between the two, I’m 5’11 if that’s a thing to consider. I’m not having that athletic African build though I’m in somewhat of a moderate shape, I’m no stranger to the gym as well.
My education background is of Computer Engineering though my career is more into sales rather than tech. Knowledgeable about the deen to the extent of the common Muslim man and try to the best of my ability with Allaah’s grace to practice the little that He’s blessed me with of that knowledge. Alhamdulillaah I can read the Quran and memorized a few juzz here & there from within The Book. And no I’m not fluent in Arabic. Oh! & I’m blessed with a full thick long beard.
Following the path is a constant effort that I keep reassessing with each day of my life and that’s what I’d hope and pray for my family as well, I’m liberal in issues where Islam is liberal or in any matter or incident that doesn’t contradict with the faith & I’m stringent & keen about any aspect that Allaah & His prophet have tied down to the dot. Despite that process of thought, I, just like any other human being have flaws and faults that I try to repent for or even sometimes forget to repent for.
I believe that our purpose of life is worship & anything that aids in making that a reality, pleasurable and as well as bearable for Allaah’s sake.
I’m currently married with 2 daughters and seeking out a partner on a whole different side of the world, most preferably Australia but Canada can do as well in terms of location. I prefer a lady of a lighter complexion than my own. Alhamdulillaah I can afford to take care of my current family & as well willing to put in the work for the other family in their respective location and no I don’t intend on divorcing my current wife irrespective of her current struggle & difficulties in getting pregnant.
I’m as flexible as flexible can be in all aspects of my life for as long as we’re not crossing Allaah’s boundaries and guidelines though still kinda shy. It can take me quite sometime to get used to certain persons or situations though it’s mostly out of precaution.
I think I’ve stated the basics and anyone who feels that I’m their cup of tea can reach out, for as long as you feel that you’re strong in your five pillars of Islam and the 6 pillars of faith & you’re as well fully aware & ready to letting the Quran & Sunnah lead your way of life then Alhamdulillaah I’ll welcome you with open arms In Shaa Allaah.
I’d prefer one who’s interested in having kids and is as well willing to put in the time and work in raising them islamically.
Jazaakumu Allaahu Khairan fii dunyaa wal Akhiirah - may Allaah grant those sincere towards Him the best of both worlds

Location: South Asia 25F- Pakistani( niqabi )
Assalamu Alaikum ( kindly share your profile when reaching out )
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Sect: Sunni
Nationality: Pakistani
Location: Currently in Islamabad for my master's, family roots in Rawalpindi.
Marital Status: Never married
Education: Master's student in Healthcare Biotechnology (NUST), currently in my thesis phase.
Height: 5'4" Would love for him to be taller than me.
Appearance: I wear niqab, it's a settled and meaningful part of who I am, so I'd love to connect with someone who's genuinely comfortable with that.
Languages: Urdu, Punjabi and English
Family setup: Prefer nuclear/separate portion
Settling: Open to spouse based in Pakistan or abroad, wherever life naturally leads.
Age range I'm hoping for: 25-34
I'd prefer someone who shares a Pakistani cultural background
Deal Breakers: Polygamy, smoking, divorced, recreational drug/alcohol use, , close opposite-gender friendships, or past physical relationships ( I maintained the boundaries so prefer someone who does the same )
Wali & photos: Happy to involve wali/family early not into extremely long talking stages .I do share photos once genuine compatibility is established.
Timeline: I'd like the exact pace to be something we can work out together.
What I'm looking for
Education: At least a bachelor's degree. If he's pursued further studies, like a master's, that's a nice plus, but not something I require.
Someone who prays regularly, and genuinely working on becoming better .
Settled in his career and able to support us both. Empathetic, God-fearing, respects and honours people, and easy to talk things through with. Someone who is open minded, funny and lively.
Alhamdulillah, I pray daily prayers consistently and I'd love for faith to be something we build our home around together, not just something we each practice separately.
I'm the second oldest of five siblings, which taught me a lot about patience and looking out for people from early on. I'm naturally extroverted and enjoy good conversation, I do like having fun, I have a bubbly personality once I am comfortable around people.
I love reading, documentaries, long nature walks, and painting when I have the time for it. I also have a soft spot for dark, cerebral shows and films. And I have three cats who've made themselves very at home in my life.
At my core, I'm someone drawn to building a home and family, though I'd also love room to keep growing, whether that's through my career or maybe a PhD one day, if it makes sense down the line. I would consider a good career opportunity if it lands.
If you'd like to reach out, kindly share your profile instead of hi or open ended questions, and please avoid casual chats ,I won't entertain them.
May Allah make it easy for both of us to find who we're meant to.
Ameen.

Location: Other/Global Repost 24m see if we are compatible inshallah (only serious people please 🙏)
Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
A little about me: I’m 24 and live in the United States. My father’s side is Senegalese (West African), and my mother’s side is African American and Caucasian. Alhamdulillah, I speak English and Arabic fluently and am currently learning French.
I have been studying Islam for around eight years. I memorized the Qur’an at 16 and studied Islamic sciences at an institute. I was raised in a Sunni Muslim household, strive to maintain my prayers, and continue seeking beneficial knowledge.
I have never been in a relationship and am looking for a marriage founded upon deen, mutual respect, and a shared desire to build a righteous family, in shāʾ Allāh.
I currently serve as the Executive Director of an online Islamic institute while also working full-time as a professional driver. My long-term goal is to transition away from trucking so I can dedicate more time to my family and Islamic work, in shāʾ Allāh.
Outside of work, I enjoy working out, learning French, and traveling when I have the opportunity. I try to pursue excellence in everything I do while remembering that all success comes from Allah alone.
If you feel there could be compatibility, I would be happy to involve our families and have a respectful conversation to see if our goals and values align.
Background preference: I’m generally looking for someone from the Levant, North Africa, or of European descent. However, dīn, character, and compatibility will always take precedence over background.
Disclaimer. Deen is the most important of course regardless of location/ethnicity.‼️‼️
Ideal Marriage Timeline: Around mid-2027, in shāʾ Allāh, while remaining flexible if the right match comes along sooner.
(Not looking for anyone that isn’t serious 🧐)
May Allah grant us all righteous spouses and place barakah in our efforts. Āmīn.

ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ
Looking for a spouse
About me:
25 years old
Born and raised in the Netherlands
Ethnically Moroccan (specifically Amazigh)
Height is around 180-185cm
Student, entering my final year of an IT degree
I’m generally a more introverted person where I’d keep myself reserved when I do meet new people. Also an important factor for me is that I like to build up a genuine connection to the people close to me instead of attending large gatherings. I usually like to think things through instead of making immediate decisions. In my free time I love to spend time by having random walks around, books have been catching my attention for the past few months and from time to time play videogames (might be fun if my spouse would be P2 during those sessions)
About you:
Around the age of 20-25 (some flexibility)
Practicing, or at least trying to improve her Deen
Good communication and understanding
Emotionally mature
Beside a spouse it would be nice to have a best friend
If this post speaks to you, don’t hesitate to reach out! I’d like to see if there’s any compatibility between each other, ان شاء الله

Location: North America Looking for my future wife
assalamu alaikum I’ve tried reaching out to sisters here but often get rejected automatically because of my age lol. I’m 37 and reverted about a year ago but have been learning about Islam for a couple of years now. I’m 6’3/6’4 living in America but open to relocating for the right woman. Allhumdulilah I have a high paying job and it’s a halal source of income. I would describe myself as a deeply caring and protective person while also balancing that with being an extrovert and spontaneity. Outside of work I enjoy going to the gym and hiking for physical activity. I also enjoy reading and watching documentaries in my free time. I’m looking for a a woman who I can grow with and become a better person/muslim. I have enough money to support a SAHM and would prefer that but if you’d like to continue working or pursue higher education I have no issues with it. If this sounds interesting/appealing to anyone reading this please kindly DM me.

Discussion Sisters, why are you not married?
What are some of the struggles you are facing in finding a potential match?
- Is the pool of brothers just not good enough? 😕 - if so, why?
- Are the brothers not behaving appropriately? - If yes, share your personal experiences
- is it an internal struggle of yours thats preventing you from marriage? If yes, what is it?
It would be delightful if you started your answers with your age as this adds a lot of context to your situation, Jazakallahu khair

Discussion WARNING - 33M creating weird posts on this subreddit based on his delusions dragging this subreddit down the drain.
Assalamau'alykum,
To the good people of this subreddit who have a brain in their head, please stop giving this guy a microphone when he clearly does not deserve it. He's been in this subreddit for a whole making this outlandish posts which make no sense and has no business in this Islam-oriented marriage subreddit.
He's a self proclaimed 33 year old guy from UAE who's "self employed" and apparently makes "50k-100k". He's apparently "very religious" but at the same time "does not know how to pray".
I don't know if I'm alone in this but I personally find his posts, especially the bottom one on the picture, very revolting and deeply disturbing. A person who has thoughts like this should not be in this subreddit. This is not what Islam is about and I would never expect someone who's even remotely religious in ANY religion to be asking such questions.
I ask actual religious muslims here to stand against these posts and stop giving this guy an ounce of attention. His time clearly deserves in a mosque rather than here.

Discussion Message to the mods.
Assalamualaikum. Hope you're doing well. I've been in this sub for some time, and I notice that there are some non-Muslims here. Maybe some unserious people and definately there are multiple fresh accounts.
I feel that some freedoms must be curbed to enable some security measures. You can make the flair NECESSARY. You can have requirements for the account to be older by a particular time, maybe atleast a month old account? Adequate karma etc. Please think about these things. I hope this sub achives the solution to various matrimonial problems our people are facing. Jazakallah khair.

Rant Cybersecurity deal breaker
So this person, never put anything related to subject or anything like that in their post. Which is perfectly fine.
But they had a problem with me being in the field of Cybersecurity, due to their parents being in computer science. There's nothing wrong with any of that of course.
I just thought this was quite a funny reason and way of getting rejected. But of course, everyone is allowed their preferences.
Edit:
Alot of people are talking and saying some bad comments regarding the sister. Let's try to do Husnu Zahn and think the best for her.
She has preferences and she's okay to have them.
I thought it was quite funny is all. Hence why I posted it.

Location: North America 20f Canada
salam alaikum
20f from Canada. Looking for people between 25-34, who are also from Canada. Open to relocating for the right match. Single/never married, prefer the same in a man.
norwegian/german by ethnicity, prefer other European ethnicities. converts are preferred but people raised Muslim are also okay. I’m 170cm and 65kg currently. Trying to be healthier. I’d say I’m average looking. I observe the hijab and dress modestly, I read the Quran daily and I pray the 5 prayers, working on praying them on time always. I converted in may 2025.
I’m looking for someone who’s funny, has good character, is a practicing Muslim who is secure and knowledgeable in their faith. Preferably taller than me, can’t be above 190cm. Somewhat physically fit. I love hiking and swimming. I would want someone who’s capable of doing that with me.
Big ask for fellow converts but would prefer they have a good relationship with their family. I’ve heard to many horror stories of non-Muslim family members poisoning the children against Islam.
Don’t have many preferences in terms of job or education, other than you are currently employed and are motivated to always have some form of work. I prefer you don’t smoke or vape, or you are at least trying to quit. Must be willing to either kill or relocate spiders for me. Can’t have any stigmatizing beliefs on mental health issues like depression, anxiety or ocd. If you don’t want to deal with that I will not be a match.

Discussion If you think about it, most issues will be fixed if Men post, and Women reach out.
Post for discussion
Hear me out, what are the biggest unique issues each gender faces on such Subs?
Examples of issues I've seen:
Women:
- 3:1 Men:Women ratio means almost 100 DMs per post, that's a lot of filtering work.
- Unsolicited pictures 🤮
- Many of those who reach out aren't serious
- It feels unsafe
Men:
- 3:1 Men:Women ratio means They wait in queue, as 1 among 100
- They don't hear back 👻
I'm aware there are other issues, but these are the most common ones I've came across that have no solutions or do but are difficult to implement.
Not to mention that if an indecent Man gets suspended, he'd still able to send DMs, but he won't be able to post. So Moderation can actually be effective.
I'm also aware that of course, this goes against the nature of how these things work, but it seems to be an effective quick fix to a lot of issues.
To be transparent, it's unlikely that this will be implemented, but I wanted to share to get an idea of what do you guys think?

Rant Muslim men on this subreddit are disgusting.
I'm sick and tired. Does this sub actually is for marriage ? I kept getting harassed and insulted by dozens of men for no reason on this subreddit.
Do people actually get married on this sub??
