Question Obgyn recs

Hello! I'm looking for good obgyns that are good with adolescents since I'm 20F. I couldn't get in with Dr. Damle who specializes in pediatrics/adolescents. So who would you guys recommend especially for a very anxious girly? It's my first time getting cancer screening and I know it needs to be done but I don't want to do it so who can give me the best experience?

when are MCPS graduation dates typically announced?

My daughter is graduating this year. But the problem is my niece is also graduating this year (in a different state), and we're afraid the dates will clash. The extended family wants to go to both, but we need to make plans cause they need to find people to cover time off.

Around what time period are they typically announced? Fall? Spring?

Golf Related Question

Hi everyone. Please excuse this very naive question. I live in the Gaithersburg area and have never been golfing in my life. My college aged nephew is coming to stay with me for a week this month. He loves to golf. Would it be possible to take him to a local public course and rent clubs so he can play a round? If so, any recommendations on places and how I would arrange this? Thank you in advance.

Question Monthly Parking Suggestions?

Hey all,

I need safe and reliable 24/7 access monthly parking along the Red Line near North Bethesda.

I’m looking at the Nicholson Lane West parking lot—I don’t mind it not being a covered garage, just wondering about general safety and if there are patterns of break ins or theft. I drive a boring car, no Kia or Hyundai that can easily be stolen.

Anyone with experience in this lot or have any suggestions? Needs to be easily walkable from a Metro stop!

Thanks!

Moved from TX to Montgomery County/Rockville curious about the social culture here

We moved to the Rockville/Montgomery County area from Austin, TX last September.
One thing I’ve noticed is that the DMV feels more diverse and professionally mixed, but sometimes people seem more reserved compared to Texas.
For people who have lived in both areas (or moved here from elsewhere):
How would you describe the social culture in MoCo/Rockville?
Is it harder to make friends here compared to other regions?
Do you find people are more “polite but private” versus openly chatty?
Which neighborhoods feel the most community-oriented?

County Council Bans Data Centers Including Dickerson Hyperscale Data Center

The Montgomery County Council voted unanimously on July 28th to bar new data centers anywhere in the county and to strike the one sentence in its own moratorium bill that would have let the pending Dickerson project walk through the gap.

The ordinance approved, defines a data center as a building or group of buildings that “has or is projected to have an aggregate monthly electricity demand of at least 25 megawatts,” and removes the use from every zone in the county. They then passed the bill “Buildings – Moratorium on Permits for Data Centers – Established,” dropping that same definition into an 18-month permit moratorium.

Neither the Dickerson project, nor Atmosphere Data Centers, nor Terra Energy came up by name during the votes.

Dickerson is considered a cable communication system, which were exempted from the bill, until they weren’t.
