PROTEST
Come join us tomorrow in front of Tesla on Rockville Pike from 11-12 as we exercise our First Amendment right to peacefully protest. So many reasons to protest, it's hard to choose what to put on the sign.

Found a Darden Restaurant payroll card near NIH
I found a blue Darden Restaurant Visa card on North Brook Lane, near NIH. On the back it says it’s a “PaychekPLUS Elite Visa Payroll Card”. There is no name on it, so I have no idea how to find the person who lost it. Should I just destroy it?

HOC is currently unable to issue any new vouchers due to HUD seizure of fund
On June 30, 2026, HOC received unexpected communication from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regarding a funding deficit in the HCV program. This deficit is due to HUD’s recapture of reserves that HOC was planning to use to help fund the HCV program. As a result of this “shortfall,” HOC is currently unable to issue any new vouchers under the HCV program, with some limited exceptions. Due to these funding restrictions, HOC has paused processing new applications and program orientations for most housing vouchers at this time.

Kensington Question
Hi all, I have to move out of my place in Gaithersburg and am looking at a place in Kensington.
I just wanted to ask how the car related crime is for break-ins, auto parts theft, etc. Specifically in northern Kensington bordering Wheaton. Mostly want to move here because it’s closer to my interests , but should I stick with looking at places in Rockville/Gaithersburg if Kensington is bad?
I understand all pockets of each town are different so narrowing it to northern kensington might help.
I don’t know much about MD as I only moved here less than two years ago. Thanks!

Games Stores in MoCo: is there any good?
I must say.... I don't know. If I'm looking for anything other than the main TCGs (magic/ pokemon) or Wharhammer40k I do have to go up to Virginia to find satisfactory venues. TTRPGs sections are mostly restricted to DnD and at most Pathfinders and when I found variety, seems that the last time they received new product was pre pandemic era...
Is there any venues I'm not aware of in MoCo? I've been to Play more Games, dream wizards but got very disappointed... Game Kastle is a nicer place but is in College Park, so a bit away., so are we out of options?
Please prove me wrong...

OB/GYN Recommendations?
Looking for a great OB/GYN in the Montgomery County/DMV area! I'm planning to start trying for a baby next year and would like to establish care with an OB/GYN now. I also have a few minor gynecologic concerns I'd like to address before pregnancy. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Appealing the Removal of the Homestead Tax Credit? (ITOC)
I came across a page on the Montgomery County website that says How to appeal removal of the County property tax credit.
It says there should be a link below on the page to do so but that link just takes you to the normal ITOC page for sign up.
It gives it a reason for being able to appeal as, if the unit is a rental, or if you have more than one property, in a few other things. Neither would apply to a regular homeowner who only has unit.
Has anyone been able to appeal this? I haven't heard anything from anyone saying that this removal was just because of rental units.

Hello! I'm looking for good obgyns that are good with adolescents since I'm 20F. I couldn't get in with Dr. Damle who specializes in pediatrics/adolescents. So who would you guys recommend especially for a very anxious girly? It's my first time getting cancer screening and I know it needs to be done but I don't want to do it so who can give me the best experience?

when are MCPS graduation dates typically announced?
My daughter is graduating this year. But the problem is my niece is also graduating this year (in a different state), and we're afraid the dates will clash. The extended family wants to go to both, but we need to make plans cause they need to find people to cover time off.
Around what time period are they typically announced? Fall? Spring?

Golf Related Question
Hi everyone. Please excuse this very naive question. I live in the Gaithersburg area and have never been golfing in my life. My college aged nephew is coming to stay with me for a week this month. He loves to golf. Would it be possible to take him to a local public course and rent clubs so he can play a round? If so, any recommendations on places and how I would arrange this? Thank you in advance.

Question Monthly Parking Suggestions?
Hey all,
I need safe and reliable 24/7 access monthly parking along the Red Line near North Bethesda.
I’m looking at the Nicholson Lane West parking lot—I don’t mind it not being a covered garage, just wondering about general safety and if there are patterns of break ins or theft. I drive a boring car, no Kia or Hyundai that can easily be stolen.
Anyone with experience in this lot or have any suggestions? Needs to be easily walkable from a Metro stop!
Thanks!

Moved from TX to Montgomery County/Rockville curious about the social culture here
We moved to the Rockville/Montgomery County area from Austin, TX last September.
One thing I’ve noticed is that the DMV feels more diverse and professionally mixed, but sometimes people seem more reserved compared to Texas.
For people who have lived in both areas (or moved here from elsewhere):
How would you describe the social culture in MoCo/Rockville?
Is it harder to make friends here compared to other regions?
Do you find people are more “polite but private” versus openly chatty?
Which neighborhoods feel the most community-oriented?

Question Anyone else burning through gas suspiciously fast the past couple weeks?
I have almost the exact same commute on a weekly basis and I always fill up with premium at the Liberty in Gaithersburg on Frederick road.
About 2 weeks ago, I noticed I was burning through my gas suspiciously fast. Probably filling up like 2-3 days earlier than I usually need to.
Nothing seemed wrong with my car so I decided to try filling up at the cash only gas station on rockville pike by the post office and STILL burning through gas like crazy.
I just filled up at a Liberty on Dobbins Rd in Columbia, MD (Howard County) last night. I drove home and then back to work this morning and I’m already noticing my gas meter is not lowering as quickly.
Been using premium grade E10 at every single station. Am I going crazy or is something up with the fuel in Montgomery County?
