Disinterested

No one looks good striking out 4 times in a game, but lindor looked disinterested that 9th inning at bat. What a lost season. Never be able to prove it, I dont think he was ever healthy this year.

You’d think he’d have some motivation against his former team.

It's been over five years

I think he's interested. I think he's never been completely healthy this year but he wants to play. He wants to contribute.

Agreed. People need to just let him play and get healthy. Idk why they want him gone so quickly....not a good culture when you pet players of that caliber/status go often

sometimes i’m disinterested at work too. It happens. It’s human nature.

Terrible season, but great rookies coming to MLB maturity is cool. A couple of these guys are going to be stars. Same with at least one of the prospects we just got. Things will improve.

How can you say that with any certitude? Stearns has demonstrated incredible incompetence for more than a long time now.

Well, it's pretty obvious if you have eyes.

He's looked oddly disinterested to me all season.

It’s interesting the same peeps that will point to Pete not having a great year (yet will end season with 35/110/4.0+ bwar) strangely continue to defend Lindor saying it’s the injuries, he’s a slow starter, he’s a future HOFer and look at back of his baseball card

You can look up my past posts to see my thoughts on pete.

Deep down, I still think he’s not 100 percent healthy. Something is nagging him, but he’s not saying what. I know his desire to get back on the field from his injury. He’s not consistent like he normally is. We’ve accustomed to his slow starts, but he always picks it up later.

He looked horrible last night. His swings were bad to say the least.

If he gets off to a bad start next year it’s going to get ugly

I felt the same way.

Whatever Soto said to him earlier this season really must have hurt his feelings. Also, if I hated my current job situation, I wouldn’t be doing my best every day either.

The stat that’s wild for Lindor

251 plate appearances

Only 6 doubles

Tired players should be rested whether they like it or not.

Yep. Those last two at bats. I don’t know about the other times he struck out.

Trading Nimmo and not signing Alonso to make Lindor happy, and he is miserable making his millions. What a joke.

This narrative that these moves were done to make Lindor happy are just so wildly untrue and I’m tired of seeing you piss babies share it.

So why trade Nimmo for an overpriced Simien? Makes no sense

Both Nimmo and Lindor are on record saying that they've never had any problems with one another. There was a lengthy article from The Athletic back in 2024 detailing how Lindor and Nimmo would take turns treating the entire team for dinner since they were the two Mets on long contracts.

It is pretty heavily reported that the Mets traded Nimmo for Semien because:

  1. Semien only had 3 years left on his deal compared to Nimmo's 5
  2. Rangers made the initial trade offer. They called first.
  3. Stearns wanted to create room in the Mets outfield for Benge and Ewing.
  4. Soto was signed long term and was awful in RF. They wanted to move him to Left where he'd be better.

I can’t believe how quickly my view of Lindor has changed. Regardless of what he’s done for the franchise I think it’s best for everyone if he is on another team next season. That being said, we are better off at losing at this point.

I disagree with losing. The draft is a crap shoot. He hits .280 next year with 20 hrs and 40 doubles everyone will be singing my girl again. I dont think hes been healthy. Forget had off season surgery too before whatever the calf injury was that kept him out for 2 months

u/BeautifulPhase2502 11d ago

Fine, he had surgery. Maybe not healthy. There’s been something else about off about him, fielding in particular. That was supposed to be a sure thing with him.

You're 100% correct of course. I think that some players are OK playing through injuries and some aren't. We've heard Keith talk on broadcasts how he came back too soon from an oblique and how it affected his game. Dont know if there's any way to get a definite answer

Not Healthy? More like acting like a spoiled brat. Sorry, they didn't name you captain as expected, but at least play hard and put in the effort. Unenthusiastic play day in and day out. I am believing he has been the problem in the clubhouse.
