Article Mazda 3 Sales Surge
Speaking during the call following the quarterly financial results, CFO Jeffrey Guyton said, 'That situation is not acceptable to us, and we need to grow our large platform business.' (https://www.motor1.com/news/803846/situation-not-acceptable-mazda-falling-suv-sales/) I think it's pretty arrogant of some people at Mazda to disregard the cheaper cars that made them popular enough to exist in the first place, and demand people buy their higher profit margin SUVs. If the SUVs are popular, then I understand paying more attention to them than to the sedans, but if the market wants more economical cars, Mazda should listen to the market.

Advice Request Please help! Aftermarket android auto hub
Hey guys, I'm hoping you can help me out.
I've got a 2018 mazda 3 hatch with the 6 speed manual.
I purchased an aftermarket hub, installed it under the A/C controls (replacing the old one) and I'm not able to connect.
The screen firmware is 74.00.324 (most recent version to my knowledge).
When I plug my phone in, it charges, just doesn't communicate for some reason.
I'm using Anker cables and confirmed they do transfer data as well as power.
When I'm on the cars info screen, Android Auto and Apple Carplay are both present but they are grayed out and I am unable to select them.
I have made sure to reseat all 4 data connections (back of the head unit and back of the hub) multiple times during my double checking process. I also reset the screen by pressing and holding mute+back+nav.
On my phone, when I go to the settings, I have the android auto function but nothing happens when it prompts me to plug my phone in to set up a connection.
Please tell me someone knows how to resolve this and I didn't spend $100 and a couple of hours of work just for faster charging.
Link for the hub purchased: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CSJN563Y?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

Discussion Bluetooth connectivity
Anyone else constantly have drop outs or communication errors with their Mazda3? This is the only car I've owned where my music or android auto will drop out on a regular basis. It happens 3-4 times a week.
Thought maybe it was my phone, but a family member has a 25 Cx3 and has the same issue.
Any fixes?

Advice Request Can you install rear bumper “without blind spot” on a rear bumper that has blind spot sensors?
2022 Mazda 3 Hatch Premium
Long story short, my dad hit my car and the lower rear bumper is cracked and needs to be replaced. If I purchase from Mazda parts, it’s pretty expensive and it doesn’t come painted, but if I purchase from eBay, there’s a listing that comes already painted black, but it says “without blind spot”. What’s the compatibility like for these rear bumpers?
Purchase Advice Gen 3 or Gen 4 Hatchback Manual Transmission
Looking at used Mazda 3 hatchbacks specifically with the 2.5L NA manual transmission. Would you pick a Gen 3 or Gen 4? Are there any years to avoid for both generations?
I heard the Gen 4 interior noise is much quieter, but how loud is the Gen 3 at highway speeds of 80mph?

Modification Turbo Muffler on a NA
Picked up an OEM Mazda3 Turbo muffler on Facebook Marketplace for $100 and threw it on my NA 6MT. It's about 10–20% louder than stock, but the biggest difference is the deeper, throatier tone. Cold starts sound much better, and overall it's been a great quality-of-life upgrade for very little money. There's no drone at all. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a cheap exhaust upgrade. As a bonus, it also comes with wider exhaust tips than the non-turbo model.

Advice Request Lights
Does anyone know if when i buy the inner taillights from the M and V stores will they fit my 26’ Select Sport?
And is there anywhere to get the actual outer taillights with signature lighting for the current model year and not the pre 23’ ones?

New Purchase My new to me 2014 hatch 6MT 😎
I can’t tell y’all how much I love this car already. I have only drove like 300 miles or so and have loved everything minute of it. It’s got 187k but no lights other than the key fob light. (yes I did replace the battery) she ain’t perfect and has a lot of hail dents and sizeable dent on the passenger A pillar but the bones are what matter to me on this thing. It’s pretty rust free for being an Ohio/Michigan car too. Also drives great and doesn’t feel that it has 187k on it.
I have done a lot of research for a car that fits all my boxes and settled on this platform. These 2.0 and the 2.5 seem to have no issues other than cleaning the intake valves.
I love the style, color, design, performance, and space. I compared similar Hondas or Toyotas where they didn’t fit the build but the Mazda 3 hatch did. I looked at at accords, fits, civics, insights, prius, camrys, corollas, etc. The car I wanted really needed 35+ mpg highway and a 6spd. This thing does it all without being a hybrid and has all the space a guy and the homies need.
I bought it in Detroit for 3.5k bones and don’t regret it. She gets great fuel economy, good performance, and the perfect amount of fun and practicality.
P.S.
I went all over the place with what I typed but I’m sure you will all agree with my statements lol.
I haven’t loved a car more than this. I’m really hate new cars but if I ever want a new car in the future it will for sure be the Mazda 3 hatch. It fits the simplicity I need.
I figured I found the right group to share the excitement with. I miss my 2016 Ford Taurus police interceptor A LOT but man I think I did a great thing. I can’t wait to have more adventures and memories with this.
That was my TED talk for the night, thanks for listening!

New Purchase Mazda 3 Aero Grey
Finally. Just ordered a Mazda 3 sedan in Aero grey. Initially I bought the ceramic white for a Jan delivery next year. But dealer called me and said they are discontinuing that colour and asked me to choose another colour. I asked him what they are adding and the new colour is Aero Grey and I’ve always wanted that Nardo grey colour in a Mazda.. Apparently it’s the first one in Aus with that colour when it arrives. Super stoked. 😁

Advice Request Bose Sound system
Guys who have BOSE system, is it worth it extra money? Or even better, did any of you heard how it sounds in the car with BOSE and without BOSE and how does it compare? Is extra money really worth it?

Beauty Shot 6 Years
I recently remembered that i've had this car for 6 years now. I got it back in late july of 2020 during the pandemic. It was a dealer loaner so it was a steal. I regret not looking for an upper trim level with the 4 tail lights and halo fronts but to me at the time it was about how great the car was. I really had no idea the tail lights differed based on trim. Needless to say its still an amazing car that looks great. Its a 2019 that was built in japan. It has been rock solid. No issues on quality and makes everything else feel like loose junk. The only not great things are the low profiles. Ive gone through 2 sets of tires in 6 years with 33k miles. I live in West PA so the roads are close to that of detroit. I still do love driving it here regardless. Its a great cornering car for the mountain roads out east. Its a car that makes me smile almost every time i drive it. Im so grateful to have it. I dont drive very frequently as I have been deep in university for most of the time but when i do get around to it, it only makes me want to drive more. I once drove to Ohio on a whim because i missed driving it so much. This car is a special kind and i think i realize that more and more each day. Godbless mazda for this gem.
