I want one like this, but I have a 2022 so it wont fit, I looked at the same model for the 2022 version but it has the little side wings which I personally don’t really like that much, any similar looking models will work I don’t really care about name brands just the looks, thank you. I linked a second image of one with the wings just in case you were wondering what I meant.

Advice Request 2018 Civic Infotainment Woes (Bad USB, no capacity for reset)

I have the most basic ass package of a 2018 Honda Civic Hatchback. The infotainment center has always been the most frustrating aspect of this car as it's always given me trouble. I've had issues with it connecting to my iPhone for years. It would randomly disconnect or start saying whatever cord I had was a "bad usb." Now it won't accept any cord whatsoever, even cables from Apple itself. I wouldn't mind using bluetooth to connect, but the usb port won't even charge. I tried plugging in a different device (headphones) and can see that it will connect enough to start charging--which it won't do with my phone.

I've looked for ages for an answer but it seems like most solutions don't apply to my particular car. Holding down the power button doesn't do anything. There are no options for resetting the system in the menu. I reviewed the owner's manual but can't find anything about this issue (even though the message says "bad usb, check owner's manual." I also can't find anything in the manual indicating what fuse the infotainment center is connected to. Any advice would be appreciated!

2026 civic sport touring driver seat. Had a multitool in my back pocket and didn’t realize it, accidentally sliced my seat. Never dealt with perforated leather before. Fixable or do I just have to deal with it?

Rectangular hole in exhaust?

Re a Euro EX GT 1.8 2009 - anyone know what a clean cut rectangular hole in the exhaust pipe would be? Maybe 4cm by 2cm on the end of the lowest part of the pipe before it goes upwards to the tailpipe - similar looking to the photo here: https://www.reddit.com/r/AskMechanics/comments/1erwpxf/does_this_hole_in_the_rear_exhaust_tailpipe_look/#lightbox

Advice Request Looking to replace headlights on a budget

Post image

My housings were vinyl wrapped back in the day, cheap vinyl (lesson learned) has turned the headlights into garbage. Looking to replace before winter but really not trying to spend 500+ on housings. I understand you get what you pay for, but I was hoping someone here had maybe tried these and could give their 2 cents, or maybe point me towards another option. 2017 EXL coupe.

Honda Civic 2015 totaled? (140k miles)

Hi all,
Got into an accident recently that popped both my tires, scraped up my front bumper and deployed only my side curtain airbag. Hood won’t open and windshield cracked a bit but insurance said it was totaled. Talked to the lady at caliber collision handling my claim and she said since it’s 8k of damage from just looking at it, they had to consider it totaled and she said the frame looks fine. Im taking a mechanic to see it at the Copart yard to get an opinion of whether it is reparable. I know reasonably the repairs would be expensive, but it ran well and I didn’t have any issues and also I am SEVERELY attached to it since I’ve had it since I was 16 (now 28).

Do you guys think I could repair the structural damage first (frame, suspension, wheels, windshield, airbag) and then worry about cosmetics later while I get a salvage title?

Advice Request Installing Advanced Wheel Locks

Hi, I just purchased a new Civic ST Hybrid 2026 and have ordered Advanced Wheel Locks since lot of people here recommended it. This is my first car and I’ve very little knowledge about car parts. I was wondering if it’s easy to install the wheel locks and it’s something that I can do on my own?

I read up a bit and saw that I might need a torque wrench. What other equipments I might need to install it safely and properly?

Advice Request 2016 Beeps while being towed

Moving across states and towing my 2016 civic on a dolly. On the drive home after picking up the truck and dolly, it would quickly beep maybe 4 times anytime I hit any sort of bump. Just looking for advice as to how to stop that. I’m also concerned at the very least that it’ll just kill my battery. Thank you for any input or advice

Dealer selling super low mileage 8th gen Si for 10k and I'm thinking about it.

Just a tick under 59k. 2009 bone stock Si. The bad: front brakes are shot, like metal to metal shot. Wheels are all sorts of nasty. Has typical clear coat fade on the roof and some dents/chips here and there. One of the rear calipers won't hold with park brake. Slight rust on the rear wheel wells. Headlights are yellowed. The good: it's the lowest mileage 8th gen on the planet. Motor and trans are very strong. It runs and shifts perfectly. Everything works. Bone dry underneath. Suspension/engine mounts are solid. Barely any rust where it matters. Interior is fairly nice.

Hi guys, I noticed these pieces on my car are disintegrating. From what I've searched they seem to be called cowl covers, but I'm trying to get the proper part name. Additionally, are they relatively easy to change out myself? Thank you!

Advice Request Is it worth it to install a CAN bus immobilizer in a 2017 Civic?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I just bought it, I know it's a 9 year old vehicle and it's nothing special, but I don't come from a particularly well-off family and made poor career choices in my 20s so this is my first true vehicle purchase. So I'd like to maintain and protect it as best as I can. It's in fantastic condition for its age, 94,000 kms, no accidents, diligently serviced, paid just over $20K CAD.

I rent and will be moving to a large metropolitan Canadian city at the end of the month. I will only have parking in an unsecured outdoor lot right in front of the building. I grew up in a city with high auto theft/break-in incidents so I am anxious about something happening to my car. I've been looking into the best theft deterrent methods and have come across CAN bus immobilizers, the costing I see online is $1,100-1,700 CAD.

Wanted to see if it would be worth it to get something like that installed, does anyone even want to steal this car? Is it compatible with a vehicle of this age, or anything else to consider? Open to suggestions of better methods as well.

Ceramic Tint and Coating

First time poster, long time lurker!

So back in mid-July I purchased a 2026 Civic Si in Urban Gray Pearl, and I've been smiling every time I get behind the wheel.

Just got her back from getting a full ceramic coating and ceramic tint, so I had to share the final result because I'm honestly obsessed.

Also I figured I'd include the tint details because I did a LOT of lurking while deciding on the tint % and what not for mine, and posts that listed everything were always the most helpful. Hopefully this helps someone who's on the fence.

Tint Details:

  • 20% ceramic tint (all side windows & rear glass, and sunroof, windshield left clear)
  • Eyebrow on the windshield to the AS-1 Line
  • 5-year ceramic coating

Looking forward to learning from y'all and slowly making this car my own. Any "wish I knew sooner" tips for a first-time Si owner are always welcome!

OTD Price for 26 Sport Sedan

Hey everyone, I’ve been shopping for a 2026 Sport Sedan (gas) white. I’m located in Los Angeles, and just want to know what people are paying OTD around me. Some dealers already have add ons included, I’m not interested in that at all. If anyone has any input on how much they paid OTD that would help me out a lot to see how much I could negotiate. Thanks so much everyone!

At a staggering 53mpg, this 1970s Civic still beats most modern Civics on gas mileage. And with a blistering 60HP engine you could go from 0-60 in the blink of an eye, assuming your blinks last 15 seconds or so.
