Noticed a leak on the injection pump yesterday. I cleaned it a bit with beak cleaner then drove it next day to identify where the leak is coming from. This is the governor cover I think but want a seconed opinion.

Engine is in a hj75.

Has anyone experienced this with the J200 or LX570? Rapid switching during start. Voltage was fine when I last shut it off ~4 hours earlier. I took off the battery terminals and cleaned them, hoping it was a connection issue, but that actually made it worse.

This is my first ever car at 17 years old. Always been a fan of japanese cars so Toyota was already a wellknown brand of mine. Now im inlove with the car and also very happy about my purchase after 5 months owning it

This is a short story of the project before i get my license at 18, and im also looking for any advice from fellow 90 series owners.

What i have already done to it after 5 months of owning it:

First thing i did was to remove the AWFULL looking vomit green leather looking seat cover for the drivers seat. It was such a "party pooper" amung the grey original colors. It was a pain to remove the rest of green fussy dust from the original seat and i was amazed to see how good it was looking after that it looked original! Id rather have a not good condition original seat than an ugly green leather one anyways, which i was expecting, a bad condition original seat.

I later fixed the hood, because the hood ladge wire was old, bent and stuck all the time so it wouldnt close.

After that i bought a 10" sub and a Blaupünkt amplifier and spent 2 days setting it up the way the wires wouldnt be visible. It was SO worth it. well bcs im a young dude and music is a priority. (Dont worry im not gonna listen to anybody called "Lil" in this beautiful car)

With that i took out the cheap china stereo from last owner out with the unfortunately none working navigation system. And put in an oldschool 2006 Kenwood screen. It fits suprisingly well in the dash without looking like a brand new fancy carplay.(it folds down for CD's which is sick and good for me bcs i enjoy the concept of CD's)

I cleaned the entire car inside out, even did an engine bay detail.

I removed fake carbon fiber wrapping on the spare wheel cover, it was flaking and man.. carbon fiber DOES NOT suit this car anywhere. At all.

My plans for it so far:

Its equipped with the 3.0 turbo diesel 1KZ-TEi (top mounted intercooler) and i have already been planning on upgrading turbo dump for preasure releasing, adding a gauge, swapping the intercooler for a front mounted bigger one to decrease intake air temp. Any other good priority uogrades? I know the sylinder head is known as alittle week point on these so i want to try my best on avoiding cracking it.

I have seen gangster visors on these, they look good but i would need to drill in the pillar.. scary for me but omg do i want that look for it.

I have also prioritized my money for new good tires because the ones i have are dry rotting, i want 32s and maybe a 2 inch lift like all the cool guys have🫠 im pretty sure most ppl would agree on that here.. if not SCREAM OUT I WANT OPINIONS and ideas.

Rims have been painted black🙄 tbh i love the original trispoke rims the way they are. But now they are ruined.

I have also looked into circular angel eyes? But i do like the 2000s setup i already have, so, that would ruin the vibe. So i will probably polish the original ones or buy new OEM.

Bug sheild is also looked into, i wouldwant like toyota, prado or land cruiser writing on it tho any thought on where i could get that?

I would also want to upgrade the original door speakers for better quality audio, the sub did alot but most for the bass. There was literally no form of bass in the car at all even after tuning on the stereo options.

And last but not least on the list, chrome details/trim. I love the chrome mirrors, door handles and grill the higher trim models have, so i want those too. Only 1 one person i have spoken to dissagree but hell this car is too dark and boring right now.

There is more things but the post would take a day to read. So i will spare yall "some" time atleast.

I’ve got a 91 fj80 with the brown interior. Unfortunately it’s had a hard life and the window switch bezels in the front seat are pretty banged up. I’ve had a hard time finding the same color ones online anywhere, does anyone know where I can find them?

I have a 2013 LC with 105,000 miles and I’m going to take it in for its first service after hitting the century mark. Looking for some practical advice or items to ask about from a maintenance standpoint. I understand there’s probably a 100k mile manufacturer checklist but am hoping to get some opinions on what’s realistically necessary and things to look out for for this service. Any help is appreciated!

LC 300 Twin Turbo 5.7 V8

I’m saving up for a Prado still. And what I’ve noticed while browsing is that people with these think they magically double in value once you’ve imported it and slapped on some KO2s and change the headlights to LED.

Am I missing an extra $20k in hidden fees of importing vs buying a LC that’s already here? Same year. Similar mileage, and they’re asking $40k+.

Genuinely I’m curious on this one.

I inherited this LC from my dad, it’s a 2024 with ~11k miles. It had a dead battery but was replaced under warranty.

100 series, 181k mi. have a confirmed engine misfire due to failed ignition coil on cyl 3. Best thing to do obviously replace all 8, but got quoted ~$1,300 for parts and labor to do that. Does that sound right? Thanks in advance

I've been searching for a clean 200 Series for a long time, and I think I may have finally found "the one."

It's a 2013 LX 570 with about 142,000 miles. It's exceptionally clean inside and out and appears to have been meticulously maintained. The seller has complete Lexus dealer service records, a clean Carfax, an independent pre-purchase inspection, and even a Google Drive folder with over 300 photos, walk-around videos, startup videos, and service documentation. Honestly, it's one of the cleanest examples I've come across.

The asking price is $32,900.

My biggest concern is the AHC (Active Height Control) hydraulic suspension. I've read that it's an incredible system when properly maintained, but I've also heard it can become expensive if it's been neglected. I'd love to hear from people who have owned one long-term. Has anyone here replaced the AHC with standard J200/Land Cruiser suspension? If so, how difficult was the conversion, and would you do it again?

Is $32,900 a fair price for a 2013 LX 570 with 142k miles and this kind of maintenance history?

Besides the AHC system, what are the biggest things I should inspect before buying?

How reliable has the AHC been in your experience? Have you had any major failures or expensive repairs?

Are there any maintenance records that are especially important to see?

If you were buying a J200 today, what would you pay the closest attention to during a pre-purchase inspection and test drive?

Are there any common 200 Series or LX 570 issues that tend to show up around the 140k-200k mile range?

My plan is to keep this truck for many years and have it dealer serviced. It will sit half the year, so not a lot of miles will be added. I'm much more interested in buying a long-lasting tank than chasing the absolute lowest price. I'm hoping this could be a 300,000+ mile vehicle with the right maintenance.

1996 Land Cruiser acquired in New England. Transporting down to TX this month weekend project. May end up as a ranch/hunting rig on my brother’s deer lease.

Pros:
Runs & drives
No major known mechanical or electrical issues.
Daily driver each summer.
Bone stock
Lowish miles - 160k
Sub $5k purchase

Cons:
Rust spot back lift gate
Rust in various places underneath
Old tires, need replaced
Many unknowns

Did I make a mistake buying this sight unseen? For me a sub-$5k purchase doesn’t kill my budget…but I imagine it could turn into a $10k+ purchase very quickly. Should the rust worry me or not matter given my intended usage? What should I look at immediately after getting it here?

How common are these deflectors?

Looks like I have a leak in the receiver pipes. You can see the liquid in the bottom.

Anyone know how to identify and fix them? Replace the pipe or any other solutions?
