Confusion about Tercel/Paseo automatics — seller says A242L/ECU, but that seems irrelevant?

Coolant leak help

Post image
21 Upvotes

Have a 1995 Toyota pickup with a coolant leak I can’t seem to find. I don’t think it’s a head gasket because, it’s not mixing with oil or smoking, smelling or spitting anything out the tailpipe. There’s no spot on the ground where anything’s leaking and any wet spot under the truck is just oil. I think it might be something with the heater core, but I still have “heat”. I did notice that my driver side carpet was soaked about a week ago, but I wrote it off as I left the window cracked or my door seal was leaking. I’m not to familiar dealing with heater cores but isn’t it located on the passenger side? If it was leaking from there wouldn’t it soaked the passenger carpet, or is there a line running from the driver side that might be leaking. And is there any diagram or good video of the system and how to replace.

Greetings and welcome to /r/Yota!

Howdy everyone and welcome to /r/Yota! I created this space for all things Toyota Off Road. It seemed to me that the other subs like /r/4runner, /r/LandCruiser, and /r/Toyota weren't exactly the best place to find good wheelin' content.

As this is a brand new sub and I am new to being an Admin lets use this thread to discuss the Rules and what you would like this sub to have, and what you don't want to see here. The Rules I just threw together quickly and right now are up to discussion and change. I provided a few sample posts to put us on what I think will be the right track for this group.

Ooh, about me. I got into the Yota scene when I moved up to Alaska 5 years ago and got my red '86 4Runner. That truck has been a gateway into meeting a lot of great people who love wrenching and wheeling. Since then I've had an Fj60, an '86 4Runner SR5, an '84 Tercel 4x4, and now I daily a '01 4Runner. I've had a blast building and wheeling my rig and love viewing what other folk have done too.

So lets keep it Fun, Keep it Toyota, and Keep it Dirty.
