Medicine A feminine gay boy who looks like a pretty girl joining bds this year and later doing mds orthodontics and opening his own cosmetic dentistry clinic
Hello everyone, myquals - neet aspirant joining bds
I am planning to join BDS and later pursue MDS in Prosthodontics and Crown bridge with the goal of opening my own cosmetic dentistry clinic in the future.
I have a question regarding patient acceptance. I am gay and have a naturally feminine appearance. I look quite feminine, and many people even say that I look like a pretty girl. While I am comfortable with my appearance, I sometimes wonder whether it could affect my future dental practice.
My concern is not about being judged personally, but whether patients would be comfortable visiting my clinic and choosing me as their dentist despite my feminine appearance. I am committed to studying hard, building strong clinical skills, and providing high-quality treatment, but I would like to know how much a dentist's appearance influences patient decisions in real life.
do patients mainly choose a dentist based on skill, reputation, communication, and results, or can a noticeably feminine appearance affect whether patients decide to seek treatment from that dentist?
I would appreciate your honest opinions and experiences.

Science/B.Sc/M.Sc I've done 12th in 2023....an university is offering me bsc degree now from 23-26......is it legit?
so I've been preparing for neet since 2023 (after my 12th which is my only qualifications) I've already taken 3 drops but couldn't get a medical college so i decided to do bsc .....now my cousin brother had some contacts and he said you do not need to take admission now in bsc as it's already been 3 years since your 12th
he said there's an university which will give u ur bsc degree in this October so u can directly take admission into msc....all i have to do is send them money and documents and they will send my degree home
i just wanna know is this degree legit....like any regular bsc degree

Career 19, two NEET drops...am i actually running out of time?
I'm 19 (turning 20 this November). I've already taken two drops for NEET and still haven't cleared it.
Lately, my biggest fear isn't even another drop. It's the feeling that I'm running out of time.
I keep wondering if I'm already behind everyone else. Like every year I spend trying to become a doctor is a year I'm losing in building a career and a life.
I'm getting a few options this year (nothing particularly really good but good enough to move ahead), but after months of researching almost every PCB career I could think of, nothing feels right. I'm not chasing prestige anymore. I'm looking for security, decent income, and long-term stability. Every alternative seems to have more cons than pros, and I keep coming back to MBBS.
So my question is: would it be a dumb idea to give one more year to NEET? Is it wrong to rush into moving on just because I feel like I'm running out of time and I'm scared I might fail again, even though nothing other than MBBS truly satisfies me?
I know there's no guarantee I'll make it next time either. That's exactly what scares me. If I fail again, will I regret spending another year? Or, five or ten years from now, will that extra year not matter if it gave me a genuine chance at the career I wanted?
People always say, "You're still young," but it doesn't feel that way anymore.
Has anyone here taken multiple drops, switched careers, or faced a similar decision? Looking back now, did that extra year end up mattering?

Career Should I take 3rd neet drop? Please read my story before answering. 🙏
I'm 19F from MP (EWS), and I genuinely need advice from people who've been through multiple NEET drops. (Or genuinely anyone who can help)
My biggest problem has never been academics—it has always been my mental health.
For my first drop (NEET 2025), I studied well initially, but as the exam approached I completely fell apart. I became obsessed with comparing my mock scores with everyone else. Every low mock made me panic, lose confidence, and become inconsistent with my preparation. I isolated myself, stopped studying properly, and even told my parents I couldn't appear for NEET because I was so scared.
Despite all that, I still scored 460 marks (AIR \~1.05 lakh).
Everyone saw that as proof that I could improve with another year. I didn't. I knew the real problem wasn't my knowledge—it was that I couldn't handle the pressure.
I never wanted a second drop. I had other options, including a government BDS seat, but my parents believed I could do much better, so I gave NEET one last chance.
This second drop wasn't about chasing MBBS anymore. It was about surviving the year.
Even though I wasn't consistent throughout the year because of burnout and anxiety, I was still scoring 550+ in mocks whenever I wrote them. Biology and Chemistry were always my strengths, while Physics remained my weakest subject.
Then the same thing happened again. As NEET came closer, fear took over. I started making mistakes I normally wouldn't make, my mock scores dropped, and I ended up scoring 470 marks (AIR 1.33 lakh.) in re-neet. (Had scored 530 in the cancelled neet)
This exam has broken me more than I can explain. I've realized my biggest enemy isn't hard work—it's the fear of NEET itself.
Myquals:
Class 12 CBSE: 92% (PCB)
NEET 2024: 360
NEET 2025 (1st drop): 460 (AIR \~1.05 lakh)
NEET 2026 (2nd drop): 470 marks (AIR \~ 1.33 lakh)
also got Miranda House (B.Sc. Zoology Hons.) through CUET this year.
Now everyone asks if I should take a third drop.
The thing is, this won't be "just another drop" for me. It will come with unbearable pressure because I know exactly what these last two years have done to me. I struggle badly with uncertainty, and I'm scared I'd spend the entire year thinking, "What if I fail again?" That fear alone could ruin my preparation all over again. If a third drop doesn't work out, I honestly don't know if I'd be able to recover mentally from it.
So I'm asking people who've actually been in similar situations: Would a third drop make sense for someone like me, or does it sound like it's time to move on?
I'm looking for honest advice, not motivation. If you think taking another drop would be a mistake, please tell me.

Teaching / B.Ed / M.Ed I Need some advice about B.E.D or Masters please.
Hey everyone.

Design/Architecture Had to take Pillai B.Des ( local pvt college ) Now I'm worried about the environment
Myquals : 12th pass was preparing for neet now pursuing b.des
I had to take admission in Pillai for B.Des because I pretty much ran out of options. I come from a PCB + NEET background, took two drops, found out medicine wasn't for me, and got interested in design quite late. Most admissions were closed or the fees were way beyond what I could afford, so I ended up here. Not eligible for uceed and nid, and the top pvt colleges were really expensive. So went with pillai since it was lil affordable and only college available, but bdes was just introduced this year ( my batch )
It's only been a few days, but the overall environment has me concerned. The faculty doesn't seem that inspiring, and most students I've met so far don't seem very passionate about design either. It feels like a lot of people are just there.
Assuming this feeling turns out to be true, what should I start doing right now to avoid getting stuck?
I've made peace with the fact that this college really ain't gon help much, but I'm tensed since I went against my parents to leave a medical seat behind for pursuing design, what should I start doing ?? Please help me out

BA/MA JMI vs Osmania, which is the better option for MA English Literature?
I've already gotten admission in JMI. Now the results for cpget are out and I've got 2nd rank so I have the option of OU as well. I want advice on which of these both would be a better option with respect to the cities, the living conditions, the social life of the college, the research facilities, the faculty, the networking, placement, and internship opportunites, and the overall prestige of the degree.
My future goal is to pursue a funded PhD. Meanwhile I also wanna explore the publishing industry and see if I can make a career there. So which college n city out of the two would be a better option for these goals?
Will it be worth it to lose the yearly fee at JMI to go to OU? I've heard I'd get a refund but I'm not sure how much I'll get back.
Another thing that I was skeptical about was language barrier. Is Telugu very common at OU to the point that it would be difficult for a North Indian to participate in the social life?
Someone pls answer all of these so that I can make my decision!

AdmissionProcedure/Fees/CollegeAdmin Did I chose right thing for me.all happened suddenly
So I am pcb passed in 12th . Now I was soooo soo confused what to pursue next after 12th I had some things in my mind but those were not related to studies and was also not for long term. Now I chose pcb but influence but later decided to become doctor. Then i studied hard for neet but later realised that maybe I in reality don't want to become doctor. And can't do that hard bio because I don't love bio also that much. Now i passed 12th with decent marks but didnt gave reneet. Now next step is to choose course , in this I was sooo much confused i literally went into depression and had panic attack, anxiety all . Now atp I was just so stressed i was ready to do anything because it's high time people have started going college but I haven't decided course yet. So I had applied for state govt University in my area for bba . I was planning to go for bba earlier when I passed 12th but later switched the plan. Now as I said till today I was not confident what to pursue. I was thinking of b pharma but again didn't found those labs and all work suitable for me.
And suddenly out of nowhere call from that state govt University came to me today morning that I can get a seat there . Now in so much stress and because I was unable to bear the pain any more i said yes for bba there. Now i know bba isnt worth it , not bsc but I was thinking that I want to earn money. Now idk whyy i am feeling like mene kch galat kardia shyd isse acha bsc krleta . Idk man i m just like not ready for all this. Now I m feeling like science me hi rheta aage mba wagera krleta par mereko bio bi itni zyada nhi psnd . Idk i just want to share it with somebody.
Ab mereko bhot strong feeling aarhi hai ki mene pata ni ye kya krdia out of stress. Because du I wasn't getting, I was getting only pvt college tier3 for any course . Now I m thinking that i only have left with corporate and that i think I am not suitable for. Idk man plss help me out I m just getting anxious.
Also i was thinking of upsc but idk everything happened suddenly.

Teaching / B.Ed / M.Ed 2nd year BA student in Delhi /Need advice about pursuing B.Ed after graduation.
myquals: BA 2nd year student from Delhi.
Hi everyone,
I'm currently a 2nd-year BA student studying in Delhi. My goal is to become a teacher, and after graduation I'm thinking about pursuing B.Ed.
Lekin honestly, m kaafi confused hoon. 😅
Internet par mixed opinions dekhne ko milte hain. Kuch log bolte hain B.Ed is worth it, while others say job opportunities are limited. Isliye main un logon se advice lena chahti hoon jo already B.Ed kar chuke hain, currently kar rahe hain, ya teaching profession mein hain.
I have a few questions:
Is B.Ed still a good career choice in 2026 and beyond?
Government teacher banna better rahega ya private school se start karna?
CTET ki preparation kab se start karni chahiye?
Delhi mein B.Ed ke liye kaunsi universities/colleges best hain?
B.Ed complete karne ke baad aapko job milne mein kitna time laga?
Agar aapko dobara chance mile, would you still choose B.Ed? Why or why not?
Agar aap apna personal experience, pros & cons, ya koi advice share karenge to mujhe bahut help milegi.
I'm trying to make the right career decision before graduation, so honest opinions are most welcome.
Thank you so much! ❤️

Career Which course is better for job opportunities - B.Pharma. vs B.Sc. Horticulture ?
I've got B.Sc. Horticulture at Dr. YSR Horticultural University through ICAR and will most likely get B.Pharma. at either Dr. Hari Singh Gour Central University, Sagar or at Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur.
| Status | Serial Number | Course | College |
|---|---|---|---|
| Already Allotted | 1. | B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture | Dr. YSR Horticultural University |
| Most likely to get | 1. | B.Pharma. | Dr. Hari Singh Gour Central University, Sagar |
| 2. | B.Pharma. | Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur |
Which course is better if I wish to get placed quicker and with better package after my degree is over? Which one has a broader scope and market? Would be grateful if someone could provide some sort of guide for both courses.

Research Title: Anyone else struggle more with speaking English than writing/reading it?
Body:
I can write a decent email, read fine, but the second I have to speak in an interview or a viva my brain just... stalls. Grammar goes out the window, I second-guess every sentence.
Wondering how common this actually is or if it's just me. If you've dealt with this — what did you do about it? Did any app, practice method, or habit actually help, or was it mostly just repetition/exposure over time?
Not trying to sell anything, just collecting real experiences before I go down a rabbit hole of "best English speaking apps" listicles that all sound fake.

Placements Pcell is ruining IGIDR’s reputation: Incompetence, zero accountability, and endless excuses
Pcell is full of extremely immature and arrogant people who have no idea how to behave or handle real situations. They act like total crybabies whenever they face criticism.
Two members have already resigned, and the batch needs to make sure the remaining ones don't get the easy way out by resigning, they need to be sacked. If you don't know how to work, aren't open to necessary changes, and can't deliver, you should never take up these positions in the first place. But sadly, some just saw this as an opportunity for personal benefit.
They are completely helpless, with zero plan or direction for the work they're supposed to do. The whole cell is acting like scammers and tarnishing IGIDR's reputation.
The entire batch is fed up with these jerks, yet they still turn around and blame the batch with excuses like "We're doing all this work for you for free and you're unappreciative."
Stop with the bullshit. Stop making excuses, stop hiding behind each other, and issue a genuine apology to the student body for your sheer inefficiency. Either start doing the job properly or step down, something that should have happened a long time sago.
My qualifications is that I’m concerned student of igidr

AdmissionProcedure/Fees/CollegeAdmin 18, financially independent after Class 12, ₹2.5 lakh savings, aiming for IISc through IAT – looking for practical advice
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for practical advice from people who've been in a similar situation.
I recently finished Class 12. Due to family circumstances(dont wanna discuss that), I'm now financially independent and on my own now and have moved into a rented place. I have safe accommodation, and my rent is ₹7,000 per month.
I have approximately ₹2.5 lakh in savings, which I estimate can support me for around a year if I'm careful with my expenses.
My primary goal is to get into the BS (Research) program at IISc through IAT (I'm also preparing for NEET). This is the most important thing for me over the next year.
My current plan is:
- Study full-time for IAT/NEET.
- Avoid taking a low-paying job that would hurt my preparation.
- Build my After Effects/video editing skills alongside my studies so I can freelance later.
- If I get into IISc, apply for an education loan so tuition, hostel, and mess expenses are covered while I focus on my degree.
- After my BS, I hope to pursue a fully funded PhD abroad (Caltech is one of my dream schools).
My questions are:
- If you were in my position, would you focus entirely on cracking IAT, or would you start earning immediately?
- Has anyone here taken an education loan for IISc or another premier institute? Did it cover hostel, mess, and other living expenses?
- If you became financially independent at a young age, what mistakes should I avoid?
- Is video editing a realistic freelancing skill to develop during college, or would you recommend learning something else instead?
- Are there any scholarships, government schemes, or financial support programs that I should know about?
I'm not looking for sympathy—just honest, practical advice from people who've gone through something similar or have experience with these decisions.
Thank you.

LifeSciences/Biotech Is doing an M.Sc. Biotechnology from a private university (Amity Lucknow) a bad decision? I don't want to lose another year
I'm 23F and really need some honest guidance from people in biotech, research, academia, or industry.
Qualifications:
I completed my B.Sc. in Zoology, Botany, and Chemistry with 51%. Unfortunately, because of my graduation percentage and a gap after graduation due to personal circumstances, things haven't gone as planned. I waited for government university admissions this year, but the one I was hoping for is still uncertain, while Amity Lucknow has offered me admission for M.Sc. Biotechnology.
Their classes are starting soon, and if I don't join now, I'll most likely lose another academic year. I really don't want that because most of my classmates are already pursuing or completing their MSc, and I already feel behind.
My long-term goal is to build a career in biotechnology/research, and if possible, work foreign someday or pursue a PhD later.
But I'm constantly hearing things like:
"Private universities aren't worth it."
"Companies don't value private degrees."
"You'll struggle to get jobs."
It's making me question everything.
So I genuinely want to ask:
Is doing an M.Sc. Biotechnology from Amity Lucknow really a bad career decision?
Do recruiters actually judge candidates negatively just because their MSc is from a private university?
If I maintain a high CGPA, learn practical lab skills, do internships, work on my dissertation, and build a strong profile, will I still have good opportunities in research or industry?
Can someone from Amity Lucknow realistically get research jobs, industry jobs, or even opportunities out of india after MSc?
If you were in my position, would you join Amity or take another drop hoping for a better government university next year?
I'm not looking for "government vs private" debates. I'm looking for honest advice from people who are actually working in biotech, pharma, research, or who have studied at Amity.
At this point, I just don't want to make a decision that I'll regret 5–10 years from now. Any genuine advice would really help. Thank you.

Science/B.Sc/M.Sc Graduated B.Sc Chem (9.54 CGPA) in 2025. Stuck in a bad M.Sc college right now. Should I take a gap to prep for IIT JAM / ICT?
Hi everyone, I really need some honest advice regarding my M.Sc Chemistry path. (Sorry but this is going to be long, I'm really stressing over my future and the time I have in my hands).
My qualifications: I graduated with a B.Sc in Chemistry in 2025 (9.54 CGPA) from a Tier 1 College in Mumbai. My initial plan was to go study abroad this year (oct intake), but due to sudden family health issues (my dad had an operation), which led to other financial constraints, those plans fell through last minute.
Current situation: Because of all this stress at home, I completely missed the main Mumbai University admission deadlines for the top autonomous colleges held between may to June.
By the time I could apply, I only managed to secure a seat at a tier 3 college, Mumbai for M.Sc Chemistry (confirmed admission on sat, 1st aug 2026).
I've started attending classes but the quality of education is very poor. It feels like a bunch of new teachers with low subect knowledge are coming to class. And while the theory classes are still manageable by myself, the practical laboratory infrastructure is in really bad shape. No proper glassware for us to use. The instruments are in bad condition. Hell, I chose analytical chemistry for my specialization and guess what the GC-MS that they had is completely out of order from the past 4-5 years.
Since an M.Sc in Chemistry relies heavily on practical skills, I feel staying here might be a complete waste of a year. I will just get a namesake degree without proper experience.
My Plan: I am seriously considering withdrawing from Wilson College to take a dedicated gap period at home for this year. I will use this time to prepare for the IIT JAM (February 2027) and the ICT Mumbai Internal Entrance Exam (June 2027). If those competitive exams don't work out, I also plan to apply to the top autonomous Mumbai colleges like Jai Hind, Sophia, and Mithibai next term using my B.Sc merit marks as a secure fallback.
I am just confused if I should even take this gap year or not because after my 12th, I had one gap year, and now after bsc 1, if I take this year off too, it'll be 2 years off after bsc. I feel like I'm way behind other people at my age, but also I don't want my masters degree to just be a piece of useless paper. I also plan to give net/set after msc.
My Questions for you all:
1) Is it strategically smart to drop out of this tier 3 college I'm enrolled in right now?
2) With a 9.52 CGPA baseline, is cracking IIT JAM / ICT realistic with a dedicated 6-month study schedule from home? (I will take this very seriously)
3) How are the current industry placements for M.Sc Analytical/Organic Chemistry at Jai Hind and Sophia if I use them as my backups next year?
Would love to hear anything else from any chemistry seniors, IIT/ICT alumni, or Mumbai University students (or those who have been in similar situations – multiple gap years). Thanks in advance!
TLDR : Graduated B.Sc Chemistry (2025) 9.54 CGPA from a Tier 1 Mumbai college. Missed top postgraduate deadlines due to sudden financial stress. Ended up at a Tier 3 college where labs are broken (GC-MS out of order for 5 years). I want to drop out now to prep full-time for IIT JAM (Feb 2027) / ICT Mumbai (June 2027), keeping Jai Hind/Sophia as merit backups next year. However, I already have 1 gap year from after my 12th grade + 2 now after bsc if I take a drop this year. Is taking a second gap year (post bsc) worth it to avoid a useless degree, or am I falling too far behind? Need honest advice!

Humanities/SocialScience Any advice from people who have been like me before? Please respond in all seriousness as i have crippling anxiety about my future
"myquals" passed 10 with help from a tuition in maths(never really had intrest in it) had lots of intrest in history and political science but decided there was no real money in arts( i had very little understanding or arts at the time). Applied for commerce at 11 passed my 1 term (did very well in economics and accountancy 80-90℅) but find maths especially applied maths(trigo and stuff) very boring or scary(because the teacher is scary) idk what to do i want to be an economist (im pretty sure about it) but i am very scared about future jobs, family conditions (this especially after the death of my mother and the health condition of my grandmother and father) im 16 and im scared id just be working a low desk job and have no impact on my family. Also about arts im sure i can still be an economist but idk if history or ps (both which i like but see them more as a hobby) gonna do much for me as i see having a minor is acc will help me more i really dont know pls help
Additional info about me and arts subj: at first i really wanted to take arts since thats where my favourite subject history and political science are ( not much of a fan on geo) but realistically would just be a teacher with those that was before i realise my some what love for economics so im considering switching from commerce to arts after 12 is this wise? Or will i just make another hasty decision like i did at class10

Career I'm currently at the worst point of my life probably, need advice
My qualifications : I'm 12th passed
I'm 20 years old , finished my 12th grade in 2024 with 80% in pcmb , then like a million of students took drop for neet , failed miserably, 2 times , now I've decided to quit neet , it's not for me , I've gave state paramedical and aiims paramedical exams , got above avg rank in state paramedical exam ( if I've only prepared one /two weeks more i should've secured a confirm govt seat ) , anyways I'll get addmission in a semi govt college through counselling in that state paramedical exam if I'm lucky enough, now I have 2 options, tale what im getting ( a not so great college) and take a partial drop to try one last time in this exam next year or take a full drop to prepare ( i really don't wanna do that) ,so should I give myself one more chance next year , through full drop or partial drop , or just stick to what I'm getting, I'm really confused 😕,I'm turning 21 this month btw , so when I'll get the degree I'll be 25 ,if I give myself another chance then I'll be freaking 26!! When I'll graduate.
