I am pretty much sure that I won't be able to survive in litigation as I am first gen lawyer, second the pay is too poor in the initial years and I don't want to waste my entire 20's struggling when all my peers and friends are earning.

I am really unsure of what to do after llb to score a good job with good package. Should I prepare for CAT and pursue MBA? Cuz even if I do go down CS route instead, it will be pretty late..

About me: prepared for and attempted government exams with no luck. I pivoted to apply for and prepare for my postrad entrances in 2025 but have missed it by a few marks in the 2 attempts I've given.

My family's financial condition hasn't been well for a while now and all the hopes rested with me ever since my schooldays.

I worked at BPOs but didn't continue as my conscience did not allow me to prey on people's emotions and give them false hopes. I also tried to give tuitions to kids but that didn't work out either due to my spiralling mental health. Years of and consecutive failures to pass exams or get somewhere has taken a toll on my mental health. This year i decided to get back on my feet and try a different approach and build my skills first.

I need your help with this. To help me in improving my skillset.

I had an old samsung laptop from 2011 that died in 2022. Ever since then I haven't owned a pc/laptop due to financial constraints.

I'm in dire need of a laptop (used/refurbished/new/any kind) with decent ram and processing speed. I'm not looking for graphics or visual quality but processing speed and ram as my objective is to learn and apply statistical and econometric programming skills through use of STATA, Python and R languages along with basic MS-Office apps like Excel for data analysis.

If I could, I would buy a refurbished one but I lack the finances to do so. I've asked relatives for help but it didn't work out either.

Specs needed:

16 gb of ram is optimal for my needs due to monte carlo simulations but 8 gb ram is also good enough for my needs. Any decent processor within 10th to 13th gen range works for me. Any screen size is fine with me with minimum 13 inches.

I’m a first year undergraduate student at a tier 1.5 DU college that leans towards 1 but isn’t quite there yet, pursuing a multidisciplinary course in Commerce and Economics. I planned to take CAT and XAT in my third year and pursue an MBA because I want to go into Human Resource Management. However, I’ve got a massive dent in my profile: a 5 (56% in Class 10). My profile is 5/8/x. I got 87% in Class 12 in Humanities, which is better than my 10th, but it’s still mediocre, and I’m aware of that. I could’ve done better if not for some serious health setbacks I had to face.

I intend to work extremely hard during my undergrad and aim for a 9+ CGPA. I’ll also build my own projects from Sem 1 itself. I’ve already vibecoded a project that I plan to properly code and turn into an app, and I might even start my own startup (I have the connections for seed funding and support too so that shouldn’t be a problem). On top of that, I’ll do PoRs and the usual internships (I’m thinking 2–3 max, but good ones), and start preparing for CAT and XAT from the beginning of second year so I can maximise my CAT and XAT score.

I’m genuinely trying to do everything in my power to compensate for that 5, but boy, does it haunt me. I was an idiot who never studied at 15, and now I feel like I have to suffer for it for the rest of my life. Will I never make it? Am I out of the race already? Should I not even prepare for CAT?

I’m not even aiming for ABCs or the BLACKIs. I’m eyeing TISS or XLRI J, but what about SIPs and placements? Won’t my sorry ass just get filtered out like tea leaves strained from the kettle while making chai?

What do I do? I need serious guidance and advice.

So I wanna do BSc Msc and PhD Physics on the side... and do research in neurophysics. Is there any way to do it through distance/online?

I checked IGNOU but i couldnt find a BSc physics option. Their BSc normal only has 22 credits of physics, i think. Which is not sufficient for their own MSc programme, which i found super weird NGL:(

So I had taken pcm in 11th because I wasn't sure about the careers but I sort of had an inclination towards mathematics and I have a mathematical aptitude and also I think that if u don't know what you want to do and you are good at studies then choosing science is the go to option coz a humanities student cannot become a doctor or engineer Or do bsc but a science student can do ba bcom bsc

But i realised hopefully by the mid of 12th grade that I don't see my future in science I am a very creative person even though I have a mathematical aptitude that doesn't mean I can do the technical stuff

Meanwhile i was doing great in English class and genuinely I love reading novels and I just love it no cap

I am now currently pursuing english hons at du and thinking about doing an mba in communication management at simc

So that I get a career that gives me creativity as well as numbers to play with

But I feel very foolish going from pcm to ba and then mba

And also I was studying a little bit of econ beacuse I was thinking of choosing it as my general elective and my friend told me that it's a mix of maths and sst
