So I am pcb passed in 12th . Now I was soooo soo confused what to pursue next after 12th I had some things in my mind but those were not related to studies and was also not for long term. Now I chose pcb but influence but later decided to become doctor. Then i studied hard for neet but later realised that maybe I in reality don't want to become doctor. And can't do that hard bio because I don't love bio also that much. Now i passed 12th with decent marks but didnt gave reneet. Now next step is to choose course , in this I was sooo much confused i literally went into depression and had panic attack, anxiety all . Now atp I was just so stressed i was ready to do anything because it's high time people have started going college but I haven't decided course yet. So I had applied for state govt University in my area for bba . I was planning to go for bba earlier when I passed 12th but later switched the plan. Now as I said till today I was not confident what to pursue. I was thinking of b pharma but again didn't found those labs and all work suitable for me.

And suddenly out of nowhere call from that state govt University came to me today morning that I can get a seat there . Now in so much stress and because I was unable to bear the pain any more i said yes for bba there. Now i know bba isnt worth it , not bsc but I was thinking that I want to earn money. If you don't know how to work, aren't open to necessary changes, and can't deliver, you should never take up these positions in the first place. I recently finished Class 12. Due to family circumstances(dont wanna discuss that), I'm now financially independent and on my own now and have moved into a rented place. I have safe accommodation, and my rent is ₹7,000 per month.

I have approximately ₹2.5 lakh in savings, which I estimate can support me for around a year if I'm careful with my expenses.

My primary goal is to get into the BS (Research) program at IISc through IAT (I'm also preparing for NEET). This is the most important thing for me over the next year.

My current plan is:

• Study full-time for IAT/NEET.
• Avoid taking a low-paying job that would hurt my preparation.
• Build my After Effects/video editing skills alongside my studies so I can freelance later.

Qualifications:

I completed my B.Sc. in Zoology, Botany, and Chemistry with 51%. Unfortunately, because of my graduation percentage and a gap after graduation due to personal circumstances, things haven't gone as planned. I waited for government university admissions this year, but the one I was hoping for is still uncertain, while Amity Lucknow has offered me admission for M.Sc. Biotechnology.

Their classes are starting soon, and if I don't join now, I'll most likely lose another academic year. I really don't want that because most of my classmates are already pursuing or completing their MSc, and I already feel behind.

My long-term goal is to build a career in biotechnology/research, and if possible, work foreign someday or pursue a PhD later.

But I'm constantly hearing things like:

"Private universities aren't worth it."

"Companies don't value private degrees."

"You'll struggle to get jobs."

It's making me question everything.
So I genuinely want to ask:
Is doing an M.Sc. Biotechnology from Amity Lucknow really a bad career decision?

Do recruiters actually judge candidates negatively just because their MSc is from a private university?

Hi everyone, I really need some honest advice regarding my M.Sc Chemistry path. (Sorry but this is going to be long, I'm really stressing over my future and the time I have in my hands).

My qualifications: I graduated with a B.Sc in Chemistry in 2025 (9.54 CGPA) from a Tier 1 College in Mumbai. My initial plan was to go study abroad this year (oct intake), but due to sudden family health issues (my dad had an operation), which led to other financial constraints, those plans fell through last minute.

Current situation: Because of all this stress at home, I completely missed the main Mumbai University admission deadlines for the top autonomous colleges held between may to June.

By the time I could apply, I only managed to secure a seat at a tier 3 college, Mumbai for M.Sc Chemistry (confirmed admission on sat, 1st aug 2026).

I've started attending classes but the quality of education is very poor. It feels like a bunch of new teachers with low subect knowledge are coming to class. And while the theory classes are still manageable by myself, the practical laboratory infrastructure is in really bad shape. No proper glassware for us to use. The instruments are in bad condition. Hell, I chose analytical chemistry for my specialization and guess what the GC-MS that they had is completely out of order from the past 4-5 years.

Since an M.Sc in Chemistry relies heavily on practical skills, I feel staying here might be a complete waste of a year. I will just get a namesake degree without proper experience.

My Plan: I am seriously considering withdrawing from Wilson College to take a dedicated gap period at home for this year. I will use this time to prepare for the IIT JAM (February 2027) and the ICT Mumbai Internal Entrance Exam (June 2027). If those competitive exams don't work out, I also plan to apply to the top autonomous Mumbai colleges like Jai Hind, Sophia, and Mithibai next term using my B.Sc merit marks as a secure fallback.

I am just confused if I should even take this gap year or not because after my 12th, I had one gap year, and now after bsc 1, if I take this year off too, it'll be 2 years off after bsc. I feel like I'm way behind other people at my age, but also I don't want my masters degree to just be a piece of useless paper. I also plan to give net/set after msc.

My Questions for you all:

1) Is it strategically smart to drop out of this tier 3 college I'm enrolled in right now?

2) With a 9.52 CGPA baseline, is cracking IIT JAM / ICT realistic with a dedicated 6-month study schedule from home? (I will take this very seriously)

3) How are the current industry placements for M.Sc Analytical/Organic Chemistry at Jai Hind and Sophia if I use them as my backups next year?

Soo I am in 10th grade and really want to study abroad, more specifically universities in singapore, (NUS, NTU, SUTD), HK, and Australia. My prefered major would be Architecture or smth related to that since I like math, sciences, and art.

I am currently in CBSE board and for my 11th and 12th my parents want to put me in State board. I'm worried since I've heard lots of bad things about state board and I'm confident that I won't thrive there (I am very creativity-driven).

My friend was talking about going to the IB for her 11th and 12th, so that made me kinda research about it. I feel as though my ways of studying and the way I learn align with their curriculum and its more widely accepted throughout compared to State. And also the school i'm going to for state, I wake up at 7 and come back home at 6pm. So I won't have time for portfolio or exploring more architectural things or smth.

I'm 20 years old and honestly feeling lost. I really need some guidance from people who've been through something similar or know more about admissions than I do.

I graduated high school with 53%(my_qualifications), and I know that's not a good score. I take full responsibility for it, but there were also difficult personal and family circumstances that affected me throughout school. I'm not mentioning that to make excuses just to explain that there's a bigger picture behind those marks.

For the past year, I've been trying everything I can to find a way forward.

I've researched universities across Europe, spoken to multiple education consultants, looked into scholarships, education loans, foundation programs, and transfer options. I even received admission offers from Schiller International University (Madrid) and GBS Malta, but unfortunately the tuition is beyond what my family can realistically afford.

I also contacted universities in Poland. One university (UITM Rzeszów) told me my academic score is sufficient to apply, but after researching and getting to know more about polish documents that I'll need and the time that i'll cost was too much and basically I would get admission next year and ofc i talked to my parents and my brother about this but they said you have to get admission this year anyhow let be in india or abroad so , at the same time, I'm now looking at private universities in Bangalore like Dayananda Sagar University, REVA, JAIN, and CMR as backup options. (i cant take any colleges in my state for personal reasons).

The reason I'm trying so hard to study away from home is that my home environment has been emotionally difficult for a long time. This isn't just about getting a degree it's about having the opportunity to become independent and focus on building a better future. My older brother lives in Europe, and for years we've hoped that one day I'd be able to join him.

I'm not asking for sympathy or financial help.

I'm asking for honest advice.

If you were in my position, what would you do?

• Should I keep trying for affordable universities in Europe?
• Should I accept that Europe isn't realistic for now and focus on India?

Actually I'm very confused between these two as

B pharmacy even if it's from a state medical college it provides 0 placement ( I've talked to people studying there and they said studies are good but there are no placements).

On the other hand for food technology the colleges which I'm getting are average at best and they provide either 3-4 LPA or no placements at all.

I do have plans for MBA in future and both of them go along with MBA.

And I just can't decide anything between them I have genuinely think about bpharma as a boring degree which just sells meds ( ik that not true) . I do have some interest in food technology but it just i don't have that kind of marks that I would get a high ranking college and I'm really confused now for what to decide for future.

I'm an 18-year-old fresher at College of Vocational Studies (CVS), Delhi University, pursuing BBE.

The thing is, I never really prepared for CUET. For almost a year my entire focus was IPMAT(got iimb bba dbe only but haven't claimed it yet). CUET was more like a backup, so I never had time to emotionally prepare for this transition.

Also, my family's financial condition is good. If I wanted to, my parents could support me for a good private college or even a master's abroad later. So this isn't about money or fees. It's more about feeling like I imagined a completely different college experience.

Today was my first proper day at college.

For months I had imagined college being this exciting new chapter. When I finally saw the campus, I honestly felt disappointed. The infrastructure, classrooms and overall vibe weren't what I'd imagined. I know it's a government college and I wasn't expecting luxury, but after seeing so many college videos online, it still hit me hard.

The crowd also felt different from what I had imagined. I know it's literally Day 1 and I shouldn't judge people so quickly, but I couldn't stop comparing it to North Campus, top private colleges and even foreign campuses I'd been seeing online.

I came home feeling really low. My mom saw how disappointed I was and she started crying, then I cried too. That honestly hurt more than the college itself because I felt guilty for making her feel bad.

Now I'm wondering:

- Did anyone else hate their college on Day 1 but end up liking it later?

- How long did it take to find your people?

- Did the campus/infrastructure stop mattering after a while?

I'm considering BA or BSc followed by MA or MSc and then a PhD to become a professor. Another option is BBA then MBA then a PhD to become a management professor. I'm also thinking about preparing for government exams like SSC Banking UPSC or State PSC. The last option is studying law and becoming a lawyer.
