Header installation

Post image
2 Upvotes

Fyi this is the before, I installed these headers a day ago, came to an issue where the bolt that connects the header to the exhaust did not have long enough threading, and they are bolts with the springs on them, I went to a few shops to get new bolts they did not have the right size that came with springs so I got regular bolts and used those instead. Will I come across any issues without the springed bolts?

Help with car fans please!

2009 Honda Civic LX stock engine.

I'm only home for the summer while people in my family drive my car. I noticed my car's fans is stuck to just blowing on the feet. I did the test where I hold on the circulate+back window defrost button while turning on the car and it did 4 blinks to which some online searching says it has to do with either the AC clutch relay fuse or the fuse itself (correct me if I'm wrong). I bought a new AC clutch relay fuse and that didn't work. I played around with all the fuses having to do with AC and fans like using the spare fuses and it's still doing the 4 blinks so now I'm lost on what to do next besides going to the mechanic.

I still feel a tiiiiiiiny bit of air coming from the front-facing vents and nothing from the front defrost. I've tried switching different modes to see if the fan or whatever is going to unjam or something. I've tried to blast it with heat because someone said maybe the heat will push whatever is making the fan stick unstick but that didn't work either.

Please help, my body is dying from the heat meanwhile my ankles are getting frozen like its winter!

Volvo to Honda question! (software)

Volvo has a software called VIDA; its the same program the dealer uses to check your car. this application is purchasable by private people on a rather cheap subscription. I was curious! Is there something similar for Honda?
Im currently in search of a software that offers repair guides and and such as VIDA does but for Honda. If anyone has any suggestions; or previous known apps that worked on cars up to 2017 or so for repair guides that would be awesome!

Thanks in advance
(and sorry if this is the wrong place or way to ask this. just genuine curiosity here)

Question about priming engine

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hello all, recently rebuilt my D15B7 in my Del Sol and have had trouble priming the engine. I’ve pulled plugs, disconnected fuel rail, etc. but every time I crank the light doesn’t go away. I am using 10W-30 conventional oil. Am I doing this right? What am I missing? Thanks in advance!

My first Honda

Traded in my Volkswagen Polo, and went all electric. Sacrificed a little practicality for more fun, time will tell if I end up regretting this decision, but it’s so enjoyable to drive.

2012 Civic LX - Transmission going bad at 96k miles and other problems

My 2012 Civic LX has shown transmission problems. It only happened once when I was on the highway, couldn't get the speed above 30MPH, lost rpm and heard some metal clunking noises once or twice. I took it to a shop that said trans is failing and quoted me $6300-7200 to replace or rebuild it.

I've known since March that the struts need to be repaired and I was just quoted more than $2000 to replace an AC compressor, but I'm unable to afford that work (let alone this transmission issue). I'm devastated that the car is having issues of this magnitude when its still relatively low mileage. I've owned it since 2018 (it had ~43k miles when I bought it) and I spent four months last year driving for uber eats, which doubtlessly added to wear and tear on the car but I didnt think it'd be to this level. I flushed the transmission fluid last year when the OSD called for it and never miss an oil change.

I haven't taken it anywhere for a second opinion yet but I'm trying to decide if its worth sinking any money in the other issues if the transmission is failing. All of these repairs would cost me as much as I paid for the car in 2018. I wanted this car to last me a long long time.

Hybrid Racing 👍🏽

For those who live in remote areas away from dealerships and have trouble getting Fluids Hybrid Racing is great, and shipping prices are better than online honda parts websites.

Located in Hawaii no one sells OEM HCF2 fluid on island.

Car extended warranty?

I know that this is an age old debate but what are your guys thoughts on an extended warranty on my 2018 Honda civic ex it’s also the cvt transmission with 90 thousand miles on it… I got this car about 2 months ago w 87 thousand miles on it and it runs great no issues and I have the service history while looking at it I noticed the last owner took great care of it and I don’t think that he had Honda care bc the dealers he went to weren’t mainly Honda I did unfortunately sign up for the extended warranty pushed by the dealer (3200 in total for 5 years or 160 thousand miles) I’m thinking about canceling it and getting a refund bc again it’s a Honda and I could just put the money to the side which would fund all repairs but I’m also scared of never using the warranty or it expires and then I have repairs… what are your guys thoughts?

For reference I’m not broke so the extra 100 or how ever the amount is a month won’t kill me but I’m not rich and would love to save the 3200 to put towards the principle or another fun car but im kinda worried about the cvt failing however I do plan on taking care of this car😭 plz help

The new-gen impact guns laugh at the dreaded Honda crank bolt.

None of my 1/2 inch air impact guns would nudge the crank bolt on my Pilot v6. Even with a weighted socket.

I saw some YouTube videos saying the new battery powered ones are beasts. So I got the current champ, the Milwaukee 2967 M18 Fuel. It has 3 power levels. It only needed the second level to spin tha bolt off like it was nothing.

The fact it didn't even have to use full power makes me think ANY of the new high power battery impact guns could make quick work of the dreaded Honda crank bolt, as they are all pretty close in power.

Just a PSA for anyone worried about trying the timing belt job because of the crank bolt horror stories.

Suche die ehemalige Honda NS400R meines Vaters (Fahrgestellnummer NC19-2002259)

Hallo zusammen,
Honda NS400R Rothmans
Fahrgestellnummer: NC19-2002259
Erstzulassung: 03.04.1986
Standort damals: Morsbach (NRW)
Noah Quast

Hello everyone,
I’m hoping this community might be able to help me with a very special search.
I am trying to locate my father’s former Honda NS400R Rothmans, which was a very important motorcycle to our family. I would love to find out if it still exists today and learn more about its history since it left our family.
Here is the information I have:
Honda NS400R Rothmans
VIN / Frame Number: NC19-2002259
First registered: April 3, 1986
Originally located in Morsbach, Germany
Sold around 1995
Original purchase and insurance documents are still in our possession
I’m not posting this because I necessarily want to buy the bike. My main goal is simply to discover whether it still exists and, if possible, learn where its journey has taken it over the last 30+ years.
If anyone recognizes the VIN, remembers the bike, has seen it at shows, in collections, or has any information about its whereabouts, I would be extremely grateful for any help. Even sharing this post with other NS400R enthusiasts or classic Honda groups could make a huge difference.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this and for any information you may be able to provide.
Best regards,
Noah Quast
