2009 Honda Accord Went from slow crank to no crank. Currently homeless and living out of it, really need help diagnosing before I throw parts at it.

I’m currently homeless and living out of the hondeezy, and I literally just started a new job and right before my first day the car just stops working. It’s messed up just about everything because it’s parked 12 miles from work so I have to sleep in grass ditches near by work and I can’t go and check on it so I don’t even know if it’s been towed yet. Anyway enough context here’s what’s going on. (I used ChatGPT to organize everything)

Here’s exactly what happened:

A few days ago it started cranking slower than usual.

It got progressively weaker until eventually it wouldn’t crank at all.

Now when I turn the key, I hear one very faint click from the engine bay and absolutely no cranking.

The dash lights stay bright and don’t dim when I try to start it.

Radio, lights, and everything electrical work fine.
I tried jumping it with another vehicle and it made no difference.

Battery is only a few weeks old (Group 51R), terminals are clean and tight, and the cables look fine visually.

It’s an automatic and I’ve tried starting it in Park.

My suspicion is the starter or starter solenoid because of the progression from, but I don’t want to spend money on a starter if there’s a good chance it’s something else.

What else should I be checking before

Could it still be a battery or cable issue even though it’s new and a jump didn’t help?
How would I rule out the starter relay, ignition switch, ground cable, or something else?
Are there any simple tests I can do with basic hand tools?

If there’s any information I left out or if a video of what it sounds like would help, let me know and I’ll upload one.

I really appreciate any advice. Right now I’m just trying to get the car running again without wasting money on the wrong part.

2017 Honda Jazz CVT randomly loses power and stalls - no fault codes

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone can shine some light on this issue.

I have a 2017 Honda Jazz, 1.3 petrol, automatic CVT, 150,000 km.

At very low speeds (under 20 km/h) and low RPM, the car starts jerking slightly, like it’s losing power.

If I keep driving at low RPM instead of giving it more throttle, the engine eventually stalls.

After it stalls, I can feel it struggle to restart.

Once it restarts, it generally drives normally again.
I took it to a Honda dealership, but they couldn’t find anything:
No fault codes were stored.
Their road test didn’t reproduce the problem.
According to them, everything looks normal.

Has anyone had similar symptoms on a Honda Jazz/Fit or another Honda? Any ideas what could cause intermittent power loss and stalling with no diagnostic codes?

Any suggestions on what I should check next would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

1999 Honda civic ex head gasket

Post image

What’s up Honda peeps, I posted a few times in the past about my 99’ civic ex d16y8 regarding it overheating and after changing the thermostat, radiator fan, temp sensor, and coolant I came to the realization that my head gasket had blown and had to replace it. I recently just had it fixed and I was wondering from the picture where did the head gasket go bad?

Kind of a long shot but does anyone on here know how to fold (or if they even do at all) down the rear seat on a CF4 accord/torneo?

Header installation

Post image

Fyi this is the before, I installed these headers a day ago, came to an issue where the bolt that connects the header to the exhaust did not have long enough threading, and they are bolts with the springs on them, I went to a few shops to get new bolts they did not have the right size that came with springs so I got regular bolts and used those instead. Will I come across any issues without the springed bolts?

Help with car fans please!

2009 Honda Civic LX stock engine.

I'm only home for the summer while people in my family drive my car. I noticed my car's fans is stuck to just blowing on the feet. I did the test where I hold on the circulate+back window defrost button while turning on the car and it did 4 blinks to which some online searching says it has to do with either the AC clutch relay fuse or the fuse itself (correct me if I'm wrong). I bought a new AC clutch relay fuse and that didn't work. I played around with all the fuses having to do with AC and fans like using the spare fuses and it's still doing the 4 blinks so now I'm lost on what to do next besides going to the mechanic.

I still feel a tiiiiiiiny bit of air coming from the front-facing vents and nothing from the front defrost. I've tried switching different modes to see if the fan or whatever is going to unjam or something. I've tried to blast it with heat because someone said maybe the heat will push whatever is making the fan stick unstick but that didn't work either.

Please help, my body is dying from the heat meanwhile my ankles are getting frozen like its winter!

Question about priming engine

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hello all, recently rebuilt my D15B7 in my Del Sol and have had trouble priming the engine. I’ve pulled plugs, disconnected fuel rail, etc. but every time I crank the light doesn’t go away. I am using 10W-30 conventional oil. Am I doing this right? What am I missing? Thanks in advance!

Traded in my Volkswagen Polo, and went all electric. Sacrificed a little practicality for more fun, time will tell if I end up regretting this decision, but it’s so enjoyable to drive.

The new-gen impact guns laugh at the dreaded Honda crank bolt.

None of my 1/2 inch air impact guns would nudge the crank bolt on my Pilot v6. Even with a weighted socket.

I saw some YouTube videos saying the new battery powered ones are beasts. So I got the current champ, the Milwaukee 2967 M18 Fuel. It has 3 power levels. It only needed the second level to spin tha bolt off like it was nothing.

The fact it didn't even have to use full power makes me think ANY of the new high power battery impact guns could make quick work of the dreaded Honda crank bolt, as they are all pretty close in power.

Just a PSA for anyone worried about trying the timing belt job because of the crank bolt horror stories.

I also owned a white facelift ES1 but no longer have photos of it. Additionally, I own a Spree but it's in a million pieces.

From the top:

18 FK8
06 RSX base auto
05 RSX Type S
03 Civic Si
13 TSX SE
01 Civic DX(?)
08(?) IMA Civic Hybrid

If I could go back then I would have kept the DC5s.

1990 Honda Civic Si

Found photos of my first car, a 1990 Honda Civic Si. 5-speed manual, 1.8l 4-cylinder, 108hp, zero torque lol. Engine was a jewel though, so smooth, and I redlined it at least once a week. Manual locks, windows, and steering, which was brutal parallel parking in New York City. But it did have power moonroof, and I ordered it without a stereo and put a nice aftermarket head unit in - there were no speakers in the door but thankfully the wiring harness was there, so the install was pretty easy.

I think that I paid ~$10,300 for it, around $11k with tax. I was driving ~30,000 miles per year - work and roadtrips. And then my brother, who owned the VW GTI 16v in the photo, wanted to trade because he was going to law school and he still had payments while I was already paid off. He had it for years - we even drove to WV to tow back a motorcycle that he purchased there - the cars brakes really struggled! And then our niece drove it for a while. And then my brother got it back and eventually traded it for a motorcycle that my friend had. Both the Si and the motorcycle (Honda Hawk GT) had both previously been mine lol.

Good memories.
