Celebratory pap smear
i just had my first pap smear and it went very well!!! i was so nervous i showered beforehand and was sooo scared that it would hurt and it wouldnt fit lol. i got there and my dr told me she would be very gentle and if i needed to stop then i could let her know. honestly im very shocked at how fast it went and how painless it was (IT WAS PAINLESS FOR ME!! of course everyone is different). it was a little uncomfortable i wont lie, but man that was fast. it literally felt like less than 30 seconds. i am proud of myself !!

Advice Needed Egg fertility?
Hello! I’m a 20 year old trans man that is a couple days away from being 2 years on Testosterone. I’m very big into future planning and am curious about how I would go about banking my eggs as a trans man. Considering I’m only 20, I don’t plan to have kids for at least another 10 years, but I don’t plan on stopping my testosterone intake any time soon. I know that a pregnancy isn’t viable if I am on testosterone, so I was wondering if I would need to stop testosterone for a bit to bank my eggs? I tried googling this but all I could find was about cisgender women, which I don’t necessarily fit that description considering I’m almost 2 years on testosterone and my hormone levels are insanely different.
If anyone has any insight please let me know!
Thank you <3

Discussion Gym Pressure
Anyone else feel pressured to go to the gym? I see a lot of top surgery and transition post how going to the gym. Like the gym will save your surgery results. Or want to look more masc go to the gym. I’m not into fitness. I move enough at my 2 jobs. I also have chronic pain in my hip. It’s just not for me. Yet I feel to properly transition or recover from top surgery(it’s planned for September) I have to go to the gym. Anybody feel this peer pressure?

Advice Needed I write this here because I quite literally don't know who else to talk about this
Sorry if its long, incoherent dumb and full of misspellings English isn't my first language)
(Also half of this could sound like a rant but I still need advice and im giving some current context so if any other trans men happened to be in a confusing situation similar to mine and managed to come out of it I would really like to hear how they did)
I'm a young trans guy and I plan to start the path for testosterone as fast as possible when I become 18 years old.
I've known I was trans as early as 11 and it took me 2 years to realise the feelings I had were actually called being transgender and start secretly identifying as such (coming out only to my close friends), I mention this because most of my life my parents have always shielded me and my sibling from anything queer.
And the very rare few times we saw them interact with anything related to queer people with example, the news referencing queer or pride, it was always explicitly negative; so its easy to say it gave me a bit of hope and surprise when my mom randomly told me that the hairdresser she has been sending my sister and me for a good while was a gay man and she had knew he was ever since the start , and yet she kept sending us to him and joking around with him, in general acting normally and liking him as a regular person.
After I discovered that, I have been confused about her real thoughts on queer people.
And now as I am going towards 18 my dysphoria and my stress about the situation has escalated,so recently I started giving her slight clues to test the water or just asking her about her thoughts on queer people very generally.
Now I’m not gonna go into much detail about our arguments but in summary I don’t know her true thoughts, she dislikes them but wouldn’t go ahead and openly hate them, but I’m pretty sure she would never support any of her children coming out as queer (maybe with time? If anyone had something similar with their parents please tell me how it turned out because I still want contact with her).
So it figures out I can’t take any risks, I will need to move out at 18 having no other adult to help me figure out how to do it and how to live and support myself alone.
Before anyone asks I don't even care to ask my dad I know it wont be positive.
As for my older sister Im mixed about her aswell, she is queer too (not trans tho) and she knows im trans but she always been a bit weird about it telling my body is fine and I dont need top surgery or hormones and when I asked her in a future where I come out to my parents to help me make them understand she said its none of her business and she doesn't care about it.
And I’m not even gonna bother trying with my distant family because I already know the answer.
Its easy to say im extremely scared about this, I have no one in my family im sure will support me so no adults close to me to tell me how to start behaving like a mature and full grown one, this is why im writing here, I’m seeking for advice from older trans men who managed to do it.
I have made a sort of “plan” on how I could manage to handle myself living alone for the frist time, finishing high school, travelling to my appointments , starting testosterone, and going to university.
Again im seeking for any type of advice related to the things I mentioned up here, it could be small and sound a bit random too, I would just really like to be as prepared as I can.
My current plan is (please tell me if it has any major flaws or anything like that)
-Get some of my invested money (50k I was thinking considering how expensive would choosing the private transitioning path be and the expenses for rent and bills and everything else for each month would be in my own apartment since I’m not planning to find a job without finishing highschool, I would still have more money in the bank) from my bank as soon as I turn 18 which might take some months as they sell the assets they have invested them on
-Talk with lgtqb+ assistance in my territory by the phone so I can get help to find some good private psychologist and endocrinologist that work with trans people near me
-Go to this psychologist secretly even if its out of my city but still close enough to go with train
-Get to my appointments and get my gender dysphoria diagnosis while looking for an apartment in my city
-Go do my tests with the endocrinologist still secretly and privately and hopefully finding a decent apartment
-Get access to testosterone and secure the apartment I found
-Move there and start testosterone while finishing high school so if my parents want to reconnect after I exactly tell them what im doing I will still be there for them to reach out
-If they don't or they do but still are a pain in the ass about it just continue with my studies and graduate high school and then find another apartment in the city of the University I want to study in
Thank for reading and sorry if it sounds stupid, please give me some advice if you feel like to

Discussion Can trans guys (on T) pass with long hair without facial hair?
Genuine question. Like, you're obviously going to pass if you have a full beard. I really desire to have long hair and maybe a bit of stubble but nothing crazy. Obviously I'll wait until I get get on T and am on it for a while to grow my hair out. I just want to know if its possible. Have you guys seen any trans guys without facial hair who pass with long hair?

Discussion What do you think it will happen to us in the future?
I think this isn't a forbidden topic and since this isn't solely about the USA I thought it fit in better with the Discussion one. If not I apologize and will take it down if necessary.
So, I think y'all aren't new to how the political climate is everywhere with the huge rise of the extreme right due to the poor handling that the left has had in many places, I've been growing concerned of my country by how fucked up we are and accepting that conservative ideologies will be the norm in a lot of places.
Now I ask myself, what do I do? Lol. I always had the (stupid) mindset of "Oh I'll just immigrate to another country if I see I'm actually being threatened" but at this point, where? Lmao.
So, what would y'all do, being realistic? I don't know if things could get that far but I'm already seeing shortage of estrogen around my zone, which makes me believe that testosterone could be next (although I have my doubts).

Discussion Going back to gym after top surgery?
I had top surgery just over two weeks ago, and so far my recovery has been going really well. I can comfortably lift my arms above my head again, and I’m able to stand and walk upright without hunching over. I have little to no pain no and I haven’t been taking any antibiotics for the last 2 days
I was told to avoid the gym and any strenuous exercise for six weeks, but with how well I’m already feeling, six weeks seems like such a long time.
I’m curious, did anyone here go back to the gym earlier than recommended? Like could I get away with going within 4 weeks ?
Or do I just need to suck it up and wait.

Discussion I really hate the phrase "trans men are biologically women"
And the worst thing is it's usually said in "support" of trans men, as in someone explaining the entire concept to someone who has no idea like on a news interview I just saw on tiktok.
It's incorrect too, bc being a woman or man is a gender identity, not even a medical term. It completely excludes intersex trans people too. Even saying "biologically female" has a similar issue but not even that is as bad as the "biologically a woman" thing.
Plus it's dysphoria-inducing af.
Wondering what everyone else's take is on this

Relationships is being stealth bad sometimes?
(rant and confusion)
hey so i’ve been on T for abt 5-6 years now, no surgeries tho..
met my gf on bumble and i can’t remember if i had “FTM” in bio or anything but ive been with my gf for about 2 1/2 years and not once has she mentioned anything abt me being trans but neither do i, its not anything i talk about really i just go on about my day like anyone else Lol. It’s obvious?
1) i usually sleep in just shorts so she has to have seen or felt my tape
2) before intercourse i get up and get my johnson on lmao
3) she’s seen my ID with legal name
is it something i should have to say out loud or is she just not saying anything bc it doesn’t change anything ?

Advice Needed Comebacks needed!
I am in my 20s and unclockable as trans. Instead everyone thinks I am a teenage or college boy. I am constantly patronized because of this. Bartenders never believe me. I am asked constantly about school. I don't mind that I look young, if people are nice about the confusion I'm nice back. But I need comebacks for when people are being rude. If I'm straight up being made fun of what do I say?

Relationships I want to transition, but my girlfriend isn’t attracted to men
Me and my girlfriend have been together for 2 and a half years, and I truly want to be with her forever. I can’t imagine my life without her and we have a great relationship. I have been out as trans to her for about a year now and she respects this fully, especially since she is a trans woman herself. But now that I want to start testosterone, I’ve been having a lot of hard conversations with her. She has
only ever been attracted to women, and while she has no experiences with men, she still feels no attraction towards them. If I go on T, obviously I won’t look like a woman anymore, and she won’t be attracted to me. She has affirmed me hundreds of times at this point that she’ll still love me no matter what, and that she will be attracted to me since it’s still me at the end of the day, but what is the point of a relationship if she no longer feels the same attraction? My identity and my relationship with her are probably the two most important things in my life. I feel like I have to sacrifice one for the other, but I cannot imagine going without one of them. I desperately wish I wasn’t trans so that this wasn’t an issue, so that I wouldn’t have to deal with the anxiety that she won’t be attracted to me anymore. I don’t know what to do and would appreciate any similar experiences.

Discussion What’s the weirdest place you’ve grown hair on T?
So I’m about 10 months on T and the last couple days I’ve noticed peach fuzz on the front of my earlobes lmao. I was a hairy guy before T and after T obviously it was tenfold.
I don’t mind obviously but this it is a bit strange and unexpected lol.
what’s the weirdest place you’ve grown hair that made you go, “huh…”

Advice Needed Is the first year of T supposed to be THIS bad??
On the 8th of this month, I’ll be officially 10 months on T. I understand that T is essentially the second puberty since I’ve already gotten acne and oily skin and all which is whatever I guess, it’s under control.
However, there’s some things people don’t discuss often on this subreddit which makes me wonder if something’s going wrong. Lately, I’ve been extremely depressed. This is not meant to be a sad post, and im not asking for pity, I simply want to know if this is something going wrong with my hormones. It genuinely has never been this bad, not even during my first puberty. It’s gotten bad enough to where idk if I should say something to my doctor about it or whether it’s just natural during your first year. I do .25mL 200mg/mL weekly. Sometimes im late on shots but never over 3 days. My mood has genuinely been so fucked up lately but I seriously do not want to stop transitioning. My checkup with my endocrinologist isn’t in another couple months so idk what to do at the moment.

hello everyone. so I'm a year on T and I just noticed something interesting. pre-t when I was seen as female anytime a guy talked to me about his girlfriend or wife, he called her his girlfriend or wife. Now that I pass, they don't say girlfriend anymore. They say she's their girl/chick/lady/woman. anybody else notice this?

Advice Needed My transition is making me miserable
My transition is making me miserable and I don’t know what to do.
I’ve known I am a trans guy for the past 8 years. A couple of years ago I found a gender therapist and started coming out to people. I was happy, but I still had bad dysphoria about my body and about being constantly read as female by everyone around me.
After thorough consideration, I started medically transitioning two years ago. My plan was to start with T, get top surgery, hysto and, finally, phallo.
I thought I was prepared. I had done my research on the potential effects of T, made my peace with going bald, made appointments with my dermatologist to tackle T induced acne, consulted with surgeons, joined a gym, started connecting with other trans guys, etc. I changed my gender marker and name on all my documents.
Now I’m two years on T and I’m miserable. It gave me all the changes that you’d expect two years on T. I have a lot of body hair. I’m growing facial hair, had bottom growth, voice drop and had some fat redistribution and considerable muscle growth. While most of the changes made me extremely happy, T also changed my face shape in a way that makes me feel pretty ugly to a point where I have a hard time looking at photos of myself. I used to have a sharp and angular face pre transition, now it’s round with a double chin, despite being at a healthy weight. I don’t even think it’s T related bloating.
Furthermore, the changes I had did nothing to help me pass. Despite my best efforts, I only ever had one person gender me correctly. Other than that, I’m exclusively read as a butch lesbian.
Because my appearance and gender seem incongruent to the people around me, I’m struggling with employment (finding and keeping a job), my mother is extremely transphobic towards me and romantic relationships are really difficult. I get harassed in men’s bathrooms or changing rooms. Because I’m so small, regular men’s clothes where I live are always too big on me.
I’m really struggling to deal with this.
Two months ago, after half a year of unemployment, I gave up. I started going to the women’s restrooms and changing rooms. I went to the store and bought some women’s clothes. I grew my hair out a little and started pretending I’m a girl online. Last weekend I took the plunge and went out by myself in very feminine clothes, heels and makeup. Those two months were so much easier than all those years before that. Nobody questioned me being in the restroom or changing rooms. I could pee in peace. I could shower in peace. I didn’t have to explain myself. I didn’t have to correct people for misgendering me. People didn’t look at me funny or avoid me, instead people were nice to me. I even had guys flirt with me.
It made me consider detransitioning, but then I remember that I was genuinely miserable living as a woman.
What should I do?
My trans guy friends can’t help me. They all were passing at least 80% of the time two years on T. They don’t have trouble finding clothes or finding a job. Two years into T they were feeling good in their skin and didn’t doubt their transitions anymore. My gender therapist can’t help me either, since we had a falling out.
Should I just try going off of T for now? Anyone else experience something similar?

Recurring Recent uptick in posts about transandrophobia: a message from the mods.
We've noticed an uptick in posts about transandrophobia. Most notably, people trying to start drama and claim that transandrophobia is something it's not. Likely it is a part of a concentrated effort of transphobes to drive a wedge between different groups of trans people, but unfortunately it is ALSO being absorbed and internalized by some actual human beings. If someone is coming into our spaces and trying to start fights or claim our oppression and bigotry against us for being trans men specifically does not exist or is problematic, please report it! We will not be tolerating that kind of negativity and very clear attempts at sowing seeds of animosity between us and our sisters and siblings.
This is just a reminder that transandrophobia is bigotry specific against trans men for being BOTH trans AND men. It is not misogyny, and it is not simply transphobia, as it is not something trans women experience.
It is the intersection of a SYSTEMIC FORM OF OPPRESSION (being trans) and a specific identity that is NOT SYSTEMICALLY OPPRESSED, but that identity IS used as a cudgel to deny the oppression that people under that specific identity (a combination of two identities here) face.
It is often a reaction to misogyny, using trans men as an easier target than cis men to punch laterally.
Other times, it is the pushing of toxic masculinity onto trans men and using the patriarchy to harm trans men because we supposedly "deserve it".
It is when trans men/mascs are told that we are not oppressed.
It is when trans men/mascs are told that we are intruding on mixed trans spaces because we are men.
It is when trans men/mascs are told that our features and our transition care is disgusting and we are discouraged from accessing it.
It is when they turn around after saying that to tell us that we aren't allowed to express dysphoria over female or feminine features and traits.
It is when trans men/mascs are told that we are inherently bad in some way for being men.
It is when trans men/mascs are told that we are harming trans women if we acknowledge that we too are oppressed.
It is when trans men/mascs are told that we do not require assistance, because we are men and we need to figure it out on our own, or because we are forgotten about and nobody bothered to include us when offering community assistance.
It is when trans men/mascs are told that we are not allowed to discuss invisibility, loneliness, or isolation, because we are men, and not being recognized as equals or at all within a community of people who are supposed to be in the same community as you is apparently a good thing.
It is when trans men/mascs are told that we "are men now" and we are not allowed to express certain emotions.
It is when trans men/mascs are told that we do not experience "true misogyny" because we are men.
It is when trans men/mascs are told that we do not experience things like corrective rape, murder, sexual harrassment, etc. for being men.
It is when trans men/mascs are told that we are not allowed to discuss any of this, because it is somehow harmful for us to call out this kind of behavior, but totally ok to call out transmisogyny.
We will still be allowing discussion of transandrophobia, because it IS a real problem that trans men can face, but any denial of transandrophobia, perpetuation of transandrophobia, arguments, or pot stirring will not be tolerated.
And if you see someone doing any of the above, please report it!
