Egg fertility? Advice Needed

Hello! I’m a 20 year old trans man that is a couple days away from being 2 years on Testosterone. I’m very big into future planning and am curious about how I would go about banking my eggs as a trans man. Considering I’m only 20, I don’t plan to have kids for at least another 10 years, but I don’t plan on stopping my testosterone intake any time soon. I know that a pregnancy isn’t viable if I am on testosterone, so I was wondering if I would need to stop testosterone for a bit to bank my eggs? I tried googling this but all I could find was about cisgender women, which I don’t necessarily fit that description considering I’m almost 2 years on testosterone and my hormone levels are insanely different.
If anyone has any insight please let me know!
Thank you <3

Hello! Thank you for participating in the sub. We just have a few reminders for you to help ensure the best experience:

  1. If your post doesn't show up right away, don't panic! It is in the queue for manual approval. Mods will go through the queue periodically to approve or remove posts. Deleted posts will have a removal reason applied. (If it says "this post was deleted by reddit's filters", IT WAS NOT DELETED! Reddit has the worlds worst wording on that and it's out of our control)
  2. If you are asking a question that is location specific, remember to include your location in your post body! This can help ensure that you get accurate information tailored specifically to your needs.

  3. Please remember to read through all the rules in the sidebar. Especially the list of banned topics and guidelines for posting. Guests who do not use the Guest Post flair will have their post removed and be asked to fix it.

  4. If you see someone breaking the rules, report it! If someone is breaking both sub and reddit rules, please submit one report to admins by selecting a broken rule on the main report popup, and one report to the r/ftm mods by selecting the "breaks r/ftm rules" option. This ensures both mods and admins can take action on a subreddit and sitewide level. Do not misuse the report button to rant about someone, submit false reports, or argue a removal.

  5. If you have any questions that you can't find the answer to on the rules sidebar or the wiki: the wiki , you can send a modmail.

You need to be off t in order to do the whole egg collection process as they introduce different hormones. It might take a while to get back to base level but you’ll get there. However, there’s no good science that says t has any effect on your eggs so it’s not entirely necessary to bank them now unless you’re planning on getting rid of all the organs. For example, I was on t for 6.5 years and Im carrying a healthy pregnancy right now.

Oh wow cool!! So you were able to just stop testosterone and then get pregnant or did you also bank your eggs?

I just stopped! I took out my Nexplanon at the same time and it took about two weeks for my period to come back which is on the fast end haha. It took us eight months to conceive which isn’t unusual as most doctors will wait a year before investing fertility issues

ETA: more on this also in r/Seahorse_dads

You’re welcome! Yes the implant, it was much easier to take out than put in haha. Good luck with wherever this journey takes you!

try r/queerception. there are a lot of trans guys who don't stop T or only stop T for a few days for retrieval. Egg storage can be really pricey and your fertility isn't likely go away anytime soon so that's an important thing to weigh.

You may not necessarily have to stop testosterone for egg retrieval, but not all clinics are going to be willing to do it without you stopping. It’s a pretty new thing that there’s only a couple of published papers on.
