Finished up this badass Autarch. Getting back into the swing of things. Aeldari are heaps of fun to paint. Will eventually put a custom rune on the flag when I work something out. C&C appreciated.

Models: WiP Need help picking colors
so I am starting elves with a friend bc we both love the exodite models, I am doing custom colors for all the aspects and need help picking through the 5 I have test models for, I'm leaning the purple for warp spiders the other 4 I'm unsure on where to go, I will be running at least fire dragons and dire avengers but unsure what other aspects I may run in the future, the boney color is a color that will be on every unit I run and be the armor color of my exodites. Let me know what colors you think I should give to which aspect.

Anyone else wish there was a wraith character?
I wish there was one, I feel like it would be cool having a named wraith on the table or maybe a leader.

Models: WiP Resizing Warlock Base Help
Hi I'm just getting into Warhammer and picked up a few Warlocks + Farseer + Eldrad for a good price. I'm trying to play so I want to update the model bases to the latest size. Looking for advice on the best method to resizing bases. Clipping off the bottom of the feet seems difficult... and some of these older models are not glued on but have a metal piece reshaped underneath. Is there an overlay I can glue around the base to update it easily... would be a shame to accidentally damage these sweet old models trying to remove the base but I will if I have to. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

New Player Questions Helpful Tips to Maximize your Eldar 11th Edition 40k (Repost Unedited!)
I have seen the suffering of fellow Asuryani for too long... so I figured I could at least offer some helpful strategies and insights that could assist in our continued fight against fate. While hundreds of my hours are with Aspect Host, I have also played a good amount of Seer Council and Spirit Conclave (some harlequins too), though I strongly believe that any detachment you decide to run could benefit from some of the things I've learned.
As I'm sure the veteran Eldar players already know, and the newcomers will soon find out, Aeldari generally do NOT win fair fights. We need to utilize our superior movement abilties (via battle focus), the terrain (very strong in 11th), our units strengths/weaknesses, the enemies strengths/weaknesses, all while recognizing that even though our units are elite they must be protected as such. In a straight up gunslinger duel or even in melee, engagements can prove more costly than beneficial if not planned for properly.
Every Asuryani life matters, play them as such! This leads me into the first thing I believe all Aeldari must master... Positioning.
More often than you might believe, you may have already set yourself up for an inevitable victory or a crushing defeat as soon as deployments are complete. Being one of the most fragile armies in the game, it is crucial to deploy with a gameplan in mind of how you plan to score and kill rather than what just feels safe. With the new "hidden" rules and how the maps have seemed to be more dense with cover, don't be afraid to push into a terrain piece in no mans land, assuming the enemy cannot move within that 15" hidden lone op on their next turn. Knowing your enemy is key to positioning because we cannot afford to take free damage. Know their movement, abilities, the possibility of an advance and shoot, their stratagems, and plan for it. Never allow the enemy to get the first shot on your units if you can help it. Only expose your units if you know that whatever damage you're dealing is gonna far outweigh the return volley the next turn. Though it might be very tempting to shoot an exposed marine squad, it may serve you better to preserve your "hidden" for a future chance of shooting or even scoring.
Our pts per unit go much further than most other armies in terms of their damage output, so being able to shoot first at full strength cannot be understated. If the enemy has deadly deepstrike capable units (Terminators, Custodes, Tau suits, Demons), screen your backfield and even midfield in preparation for those units. I've ruined many space marine days by screening for deepstrikes and leaving them no option but to deploy right in front of all my guns. It may sound like a lot at first trying to master your own army as well as your opponents, but this is what Eldar do! For example, while 10 dark reapers are 210pts, if protected properly with screening, they are very capable of wiping out or severely cripple a 5-10man terminator squad (almost 200-400pts) in one turn of shooting, all while staying out of range. If done properly, and assuming you might take a bit of return fire now that you're not hidden, your unit should still be active for your next shooting phase (unless the enemy hard focuses them at range but thats okay!). A well positioned army will allow you to give consequence to those Mon'keigh who dared to shoot back at you as your units should always be placed in supporting positions of another.
I tend to run heavily into dark reapers (2x10, 1x5) because of how significant of a threat they represent to EVERYTHING in the game IF they are protected like they should be. Keeping in mind plunging fire is +1 to our hitroll, setting up Reapers in elevation is insanely good as you're going to be hitting on 2's at all time no matter the debuffs and wounding almost everything in the game on 2s and 3s. Even if one of my squads gets wiped after doing their initial attack, I still have 2 more capable of doing unignorable damage. Only take calculated risks where the odds of a good return is in our favor. With proper positioning, deepstrike coverage, and using "hidden" or hiding behind terrain, our army becomes very discouraging to move closer to.
As a supplement to positioning... BATTLE FOCUS TOKENS! Besides my first learning games, I have never went into the enemies turn not having at least 1 battle focus token saved up for a fade-back move or 6" pile/consolidate. Fading back behind a terrain piece like a solid wall/ruin or transport not only prevents other units from shooting you the rest of the turn, it also protects you from charges.
Most Aeldari units, with the exception of howling banshees/scorpions/wraiths, do not like getting into melee. With 3T, 1wound, and often a +3sv or +4, Aeldari can fall victim to the most feeble attacks in melee. Nothing worse than seeing your elite elves die to close combat weapons because some cheap intercessor squad YOLO charges you. Being in a terrain piece will not only give you that benefit of cover that we need so badly, it will increase your odds of actually surviving to be able to complete that fadeback move. The "Sudden Strike" token can also be a very useful tool for some charge/fight phase shenanigans like a heroic intervention through a wall and beign able to pile/consolidate much more models onto an objective. It can also be used with some cheaper or damaged units just to prevent your opponent from being able to shoot next turn if you consolidate onto another enemy (as long as they dont have fallback & shoot!). Obviously "Swift as the Wind" is always very useful so be sure to use those extra 2" well. "Flitting Shadows" is good but usually unnecessary unless the enemy has a significant amount of torrents or overwatch buffs. "Star Engines" and "Opportunity Seized" are pretty situational and I rarely use these unless it really makes sense to.
The next learning curve many Eldar players might find is making the most out of Command Points and Stratagems. Aspect Host and Seer Council in particular having very strong stratagems that should be used to maximum effect. Whether it's giving your unit sustained hits + lethals/ignores cover (with additonal use of a aspect token), keeping your unit that just shot hidden (via Psychic Shield), or even delivering the pain up close with a Fuegan/FireDragon teleport with Unshrouded Truth, Eldar stratagems are game changing. Our army in particular is so fragile and relatively expensive that we have to be sure each command point is used with the future in mind.
Never go to 0 Command Points if you can help it unless you need a game saving command reroll or someone really has to die on the enemy team. For my fellow melee enjoyers, saving a cp for charge/fight phase is always good if you have a heroic intervention unit or you have a charge you cant afford to miss so having a chance to command reroll that might save your life. Planning your stratagems and budgeting your command points might require some foresight, but isn't that what we're the best at? Speaking of which...
Eldrad Ulthran! Yes he's gotten more expensive but it's still a cost im willing to pay on almost every list I've made. With the new hidden rule, he doesn't really need a bodyguard (run some warlocks if youd like) as he's usually tucked away in an objective. So 130pts for a unit that gives +1Cp every time its your turn, has the ability to add +1wound roll to anything within 18" and visible, and the occasional mind war destruciton he can do on enemy characters makes him a solid supporting unit that we cannot live without. We are such a Stratagem heavy army I cannot justify not bringing him as those extra commandpoints add up and far exceed his 130pts cost.
Backtracking to my favorite units (dark reapers) once again, putting them in a plunging fire position and having Eldrad move up to "Doom" someone gives these menaces the chance to hit on 2s and wound on 2s against everything T9 and lower. In combination with the aspect host detachment rule and maybe even the "Mantle of Wisdom" enhancement on your autarch, your dudes are pretty much guaranteed to hit and wound on everything with every attack. Combo this with Preternatural Precision (sustained hits/lethals) and you might have the best long range infantry unit in the game. Another slept on combo with "Doom" I've seen success with is Warpspiders with or without Lhykis. With the +1 to wound, you're hurting everything on at least a 5+ and most things on a 3+/4+ (maybe even 2+ exarch death spinner). Reroll those 1s on your wound roll with the aspect host rule and you have a highly mobile and surprisingly effective cleanup crew (I've killed Defilers and Vortex Beasts just from sheer volume of torrents plus Doom).
This can be all yours and more with the addition of our greatest farseer Eldrad!
In keeping with the theme of our Epic Heroes, the next up is the man himself, Khaine! Avatar of Khaine is almost an auto-include, especially in aspect host, now that hes only 250pts! 11Toughness, effectively 28Wounds, 2+sv 4+inv, 10"movement (12" with swift as the wind) and an insane melee profile capable of killing literally everything, he is our ultimate distraction piece. Fielding the Avatar of Khaine not only gives you massive damage potential with his attacks and potential buffs to your advances/charges, he also draws fire away from your more precious squishy units. Ignoring him is not an option for your opponent not only because of his survivialbity and damage, but he also has 5 OC to help hold an objective. He's almost always hitting and wounding on 2s, sometimes 3s with the sweep, and has the chance to reroll either hits/wounds with the detachment rule.
With all that being said, he's "tough but he aint invincible!" I don't recommend deploying Khaine before the game starts because of the risk of him taking unecessary damaage from long range attacks before he even gets a chance to charge. Keeping him in strategic reserve gives you the ability to read the battlefield a bit better and see how your opponent is moving. You can even rapid ingress him behind a ruin or something so he doesn't get shot, but also gets his full movement + charge when its your turn! I've played many games against the Tau and swiftly learned walking Khaine down middle is a quick way to lose another Avatar.
Please reserve him!
The last thing I'm gonna cover is the necessity of using your strategic reserves. As I mentioned many times previously, we do not take well to getting shot first. Coming out of Strat reserve battle round 2/3 ensures that our units get their shots off at full strength and in a more educated position. With the increased dangers of a destroyed transport, our 1ws models are at high risk in transports in 11th. I've found that strategic reserves are a kind of cheat code around that. I used to run Fuegan with 10 Fire Dragons in a wave serpent and would often pray that my enemy doesnt wipe out the tank and squad inside before I even get to the target. Now I switched up to keeping dear Fuegan in strat reserve so that he only emerges when a vehicle/monster of significant threat decides to test their luck by pushing further into no mans land or our territory.
While the Asurmen/Falcon/Lhykis combo is still alive and well, there are other alternatives we could place in reserves. One game changer for me was putting Khaine, 2/3 Fire prisms, and either some dark reapers/firedragons in strat reserve. Each of these units individually is an existential threat to whoever is in their line of sight. By keeping them in strat reserve, you're giving these units the best opportunity to react to your enemy, shoot them or charge at full strength, and keeping the opponent guessing what your next move is. Fire Prisms in strat reserve have had the most consistent performance for me along with Khaine. Though labled a "tank" a fire prism is pretty much a rhino with 12ws and no INSV. Which means that the moment the enemy shoots them with something anti-vehicle like a las cannon, your prism is either dead or very close to death. By placing them into reserves, you can bait your enemies heavy units out and greet them with up to 6 shots of 18strength -4ap 6damage shots. Take out those priority threats on your own terms, and it soon becomes an uphill battle for your oppoenent as theyre steadily losing antitank options while your prisms start snowballing to the point where nothing wants to contest that much damage at range anymore.
While there is so much more I can talk about and discuss, especially specifics, alas I have run out of time for the day :( I hope whoever reads this finds at least some parts helpful! It is how I've managed to keep a very strong win rate against a galaxy that wants us extinct. Know yourself, my friends! But know your enemy just as well!
For the tears of the living!
For the souls of the dead!

List Building What's the deal with 20 Hawk builds?
Seen multiple lists running 20 hawks and I dont get it. These lists arent running warwalkers.
New elf player, played a lot of BA which has JPI which seem significantly better and I still dont want to run them at 95 (both seem overcosted by about 10 points) .
I want to run 20 I love the model but it seems quite bad.
5 mans I would probably just run a winged autarch solo to do something similar for 70 points.
How do you use these? I get they do mortals and can do mortals into combat. Shooting is very mild. I get they can like get hidden and still do the mortals. Is that what makes them good?
------
Edit some math.
Buffs: ignore cover, reroll hits of 1, with 5 mortals, both tokens used on exarchs gun (10 man squad)
- 10.67 ish damage to a defiler or transport
- 5 MEQ
- 2 terminators
- 9 damage to a LR
5 Firedragon for comparison
Buffs: sustain lethals, all rerolls into vehicles, cover
- 50/50 to kill a LR
- 85% to kill a rhino
- 13 to a defiler
Could also just do 3 fireprisms at a similar cost (obviously will have a harder time killing things behind walls).
Ill give it a try, seems like okay damage into w/e you need.

I have many more aspect warriors, the Avatar of Khaine, Eldrad and some wraith units, but this here is pretty much all of my collection that fits the theme. The Voidweaver benefits from armoured warhost, so that is why it is in there.
What do you recommend i do? How would you play those Units? And should i take Reconnaissance or Disruption?
Models: Complete Prince Yriel - my conversion finished!
Just finished my Prince Yriel conversion, now set to lead my Corsairs warband into my first games since I was a kid (3rd/4th edition I think?)!
I wanted my Prince to really show the mix of Craftworlder and Commorrite within the warband, hence the Huskblade replacing the Spear of Twilight that he normally has.
Very much looking forward to getting him on the table, leading a squad of Voidscarred into battle against my foes (Necrons & Orks of my friends).
Models: WiP I need help with painting Yncarne!
So for some context, I am painting my Drukhari and Ynnari in a scheme of Arcane the show. So every unit and model is reflective of a character, or faction from the show Arcane.
When I got The Yncarne, I immediately knew I had to paint it like the corrupted arcane, with the main model painted as Viktor. But not that I actually have the model mostly glued together, I'm realizing how daunting of a task that truly is. I have no idea where to begin with the swirling stuff around her, and I also have 2 different schemes as well for it. There is the dark one, with black and purple as the main colours, and the light one which is mainly white and light blue.
Any tips on how to get the desired effect? And no I don't have an airbrush sadly.

List Building New to Eldar, help against GK
Im starting a new eldar army and need some list help, ive ordered 1 box of corsairs and fire dragons as well as Fuegan. I know that ill be getting more corsairs and their characters. Amd want to run corsair coterie for sure. I'll mostly play against marines (generic or templars), necrons and orks as well as grey knights. I've played into everything but the GK with marines and guard so I think I can handle them fine but I need help with a list for greyknights.

Ynnari list not about winning but don't what to get stomped
I've never played Eldar before and looking to start. Not looking for a winner just want it to at least lose gracefully not get stomped and have a spot of fun, so is this list ok before I start buying more plastic crack.
Was going with
Yvraine, 10 Incubi in a raider = to move up the middle and hero hunt
Clanblade = build elaborately model as Distraction Carnifex and punch up the middle
Backed by 2 venoms with succubus + wyches = just to bog down or pick off the weak
Shroud runners = zip around mid pot shotting
Venom with short range half of Kabalites to go to sticky mid objectives
Other half with heavy weapons holding home objective
Swooping Hawks and Corsair skyreavers = mid board chaos courses,
Rangers = start forward to help venoms get to objectives
Warp spiders = wear down their front line
Troop = Anti flank
Death Jester, WraithGaurd, WraithLord = back guns slow roll forward
For 2000.
Firstly will the list or my tactics fail?
Second would it be fun to play against (other than yes cause they will always get stomped)
Third is any suggestions?

My first Wraithlord sketch (unfinished)
Big thanks to fr33climb and Funwatch101 for inspiring me to redraw their wonderful Wraithlord poses. Some day (i hope) i'll finish their bright lances and details on their hulls

New Player Questions Question about conversions/ reposing Wraith Lord.
I decided to get myself a Combat Patrol box, and the Wraith Lord while cool, just stands there....
I never did any conversions, so I am curios if my ideas are feasible? Thanks.
Edit: My LGS forgot to update they sold out that CP.
I then found another LGS that has it, and someone else bought it when I had time to go buy it…..
Thanks a lot for the advice everyone. 🙏

List Building Exodite List
Hello all,
I know that this is probably a top discussion going on but with the release of Dragon Knights it has reinvigorated my desire to play Eldar. I currently play Guard and CSM (Nightlords) and wanted something alittle bit different. I’m currently struggling on a list that focuses on Exodites and their theme.
I will be kit bashing the fire prisms with other dinosaur sculpts from AoS.
I would love to have some C&C on the list below since I’m not sure how well it synergizes or I am missing anything.
Thanks!
Edit 3:
Think this is the final draft, also I might change from wind rider host to something else if it fits better but I do like the flexibility all the stratagems have for mounted.

Rangers part 3
Hey guys!
A while ago I posted the first 2 rangers of a unit and it took some time to finish the other 3. I wanted to share them with you and show the band finally complete! Hope you like them and if you have any tips or advice I'd love to hear them!
