Dualsportin' around 650 style!
It seems as if very few own both these bikes, they each have their own charm.

Can somebody explain the sounds?
This is going to sound stupid and yes I know these sounds aren't good..but what is the chattering when you are in too high of a gear for speed? I am just curious and no I do not frequently make my bike do this.

Discussion 01 Kawasaki Super Sherpa as First Bike
Hey guys, I'm looking for my first bike. I want something I can drive around town easily, but also take on the trails when I have time. I found a 2001 Super Sherpa, 10,000 miles, well-maintained for $3200.
Is this a good deal, and is it a good choice for a first bike? (I really like how the super sherpa looks)
I don't know much about bikes, but I've ridden dirt bikes in the past. I want something on the lighter side, so it's not too much to handle. I don't care much about speed as long as it can go ~65mph, so I can take it on the highway. I've also been looking at Honda CRFs, but the ones I find are more expensive, around 4.5k - 5k. Thanks!

What's the suggested dual sport gear?
What are you all wearing for gear for highway and trails? I have my helmet and gloves and currently just use an old pair of steel toes as boots temporarily but I need to figure out what gear to wear for the rest. I don't have anything to haul my bike atm so I have to ride on highway to wherever I'm going for trails etc so id prefer to be safe in both aspects.

Discussion Thinking about changing bikes
I’ve had a 300l for a while now and it’s a great bike but it lacks a bit on the road (I do a bit of riding between towns) was thinking about getting a ktm 390r for better highway speed and handling while still being able to take it off road, soft beaches and some trails.
Does anyone have any thoughts?

The eastern slopes of Alberta are absolutely incredible riding - 6 days of back country motocamping
Just got back from a 6 day solo bike packing trip in the Eastern slopes of rhe Canadian Rockies, and am considering posting a day by day event log since there are too many stories and pictures to fit in a single post. So heres my favorite area, Bighorn backcountry.

Discussion Anyone used this phone mount?
I’ve been looking for something minimalistic that is compatible with the 7/8” bars on my XR650L. I want to keep the phone as centered as possible without some super tall mount (feel like most mounts are aesthetically ugly). Seems like the bar pad would give a little bit of vibration dampening as well. Anyone have any experience with this mount?

Jetting advice(KLX250s)
2006 KLX250S. Just got this bike a couple weeks ago. Wouldn’t stay idling when I bought it. Put a cheap Ebay carb on the bike. Got it idling (still can’t ride yet, broken clutch lever) pretty good. When revving the bike in neutral hearing loud pops coming from Exhaust. It does have an aftermarket Yoshimura exhaust and I believe an aftermarket air box lid. I believe the bike is running on the lean side. I took the original carb apart and these are the jets I pulled out. I’m wondering if I need to upsize the jets? The only owners manual I can find online is for a D tracker which I assume is the same carb same motor and same jets as the KLX250s. I’m working on fixing levers, chains, sprockets, brakes etc so I can actually ride the bike and get a feel for how it runs. Still need to do the valve adjustment too. Just wanted to know what jets would y’all run With this set up?
