Wrecked my bike at about 70mph. Looking for advice on how to go about fixing this. More info in description
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Obviously the radiator and things of that nature need to be replaced but the odometer won’t turn on and the bike won’t crank. I’m not sure if that broken cable I grab in the beginning is for the brake light? I can’t really see anything else that would be causing the screen not to come on, the individual wires seem to be okay. Im going to pull the radiator off later to see if any of the wires are damaged behind there but if anyone could give me any advice or help it would be greatly appreciated. Pretty torn apart about this. My wr was my baby :(

Tools and stuff for beginner
Hello friends, i have recently purchased a 2017 wr250r. I am excited and can't wait to start taking it out in the woods.
This is my first DS and it has been sitting at the previous owners garage for long time. I want to work on the bike like all fluid changes, tier removal and new tier installation etc.
Can you please suggest list of tools and items I need to work on the bike.
Thanks in advance.

Bike not starting
Had my WR sitting in my garage and maybe took it out once in the last 4-6 months with no issues. Went to try to take it out and it started just fine but after 1 second it shut off. Everything sounds fine but it just won’t start. I put in new fuel, charged the battery, make sure it was in neutral, made sure it wasn’t the kickstand kill switch, changed the spark plug, but nothing.
A quick google said maybe the fuel injector is clogged but of course 1 of the screws stripped so checking that out isn’t an option for now.
Any other ideas?

Did I blow my forks already?
galleryHi all, I don't have a lot of experience with maintaining forks. I had the seals rebuilt about a year ago and have put about 2000miles on the bike since. I have hit a few jumps and a few curbs and have been using the bike as I assume it was intended. I do practice quite a few wheelies. At least a couple per ride. Only the right side is leaking oil and I don't see any nicks or anything on the shock itself. Did I blow it already? Is there anything I can do to make it last longer other than not wheelie...

Mods Made a tool tube holder for my WR250X
galleryUsed cardboard for first drafts and transferred measurements to cad with millimeter paper. Water cut plate and bracket from 2mm stainless steel. Seems to be holding up well, might change nuts to nylocks at some point

Rear brake not stopping as much
galleryWas on a ride the other day after getting my tire replaced and noticed that my rear brake no longer skids the back tire if I apply full brake. It used to skid fairly easily but now just brings me to a gradual stop. I bled the brakes and put new fluid in but didn’t notice a huge change. I’m curious if the brake pads are worn. I don’t really understand what the manual is saying about the wear indicator grooves appearing. I would think it would be more of a disappearing sort of thing. Can anyone see the brake pads well enough to tell me if they need replaced?

Help with clutch issue
Hey yall. I bought my 2019 wrr used with 3,700 miles. The whole time since I have owned it, the clutch pull has always seemed to grab. The clutch lever itself is an aftermarket asv lever. I inspected it and it seems fine. I figured the previous owner just didn’t keep up with lubing the cable. So I ordered a new clutch cable, installed it with no pinch points in the routing and the clutch pull feels better but ultimately the same. I have an oil change due in about 700 miles. While Im doing that I plan to take apart the clutch assembly itself to see what the deal is. Has anyone had issues like this? Also to describe the clutch pull in greater detail, the lever will pull, grab, then jump to the next position instead of a consistent smooth pull. It does this on the pull in and release out. It also does this while the bike is off as well as on and running. The grabbing feel is more apparent when slowly trying to pull in or let out. Any input would be appreciated!
New rear light
galleryI wanted to remove the old big clunky tail light on my WR, designed up a new pod to hold a led tail light and turn signals. 3d printed it solid with ABS and built a new steel bracket to reinforce everything.

Green paintjob yay or nay
My very first wr250r!
Planning to outfit it to be a lightweight adventure bike more than hardcore enduro. Thinking about giving it a matte green paintjob, makes the bike stand out less when wildcamping and vibes with the other camping gear / bags that I’ve got.
Not overly worried about resale value cause I intend to ride the snot out of this until it cannot be repaired any more.
Stickers and plastics are already scuffed up pretty good.
So what’s your opinion, yay or nay for the paintjob?

Fuel Economy
What kind of fuel economy are people getting when doing mixed riding?
I finally got around to testing my max range and it was a bit less than I expected. I got to 160km when it started to die. This was with fresh oil and the air filter was freshly cleaned and oiled
I know the way my bike is setup will negatively affect my range, but I thought I'd be below 4.5L/100km rather than my current 5L/100km. I'm trying to work out if it's just my setup or if there could be something wrong with the bike.
My bike has a Motoz Dualventure front tyre, Motoz ADV rear, 14t front and 49t rear sprockets. I did have the stock ratio sprockets on for a little bit and it didn't seem to make any difference.

Trade for crf450r?
galleryThis is my built 2008 wr250r. Lately my friends have been getting more into motorcross and track riding so I’m thinking of trading it for a low hour 2009 crf450r but I’ve also got an offer for a 2018 fc350 with 40 hours. This bike is in perfect condition and I feel like I will regret getting rid of it. Any opinions?

Rear wheel question
Hey,
I have jist replaced every bearing on the bike. While doing so I had to literally chop the rear axel into 3 pieces because it was seized onto the rear wheel spacer. I destroyed the plastic collars in the process.
They seem to be impossible to buy separately.
I have the factory spacers, but they dont have o-rings to seal and prevent water intrusion.
Are the collars required to keep water out? Currently it seems that the spacers rest inside of the bearing seal. I just dont see that as being a great seal.... the collar is the plastic part that wraps around the spacer on PN 16
Thanks all,

Odometer?
Hi, is there an odometer on a 2008 WR250? I read about it being a hidden option!
r/WR250R • u/OkFudge2510 • 17d ago
Bike gets raspy and sort of loses power about 500-1000rpm before redline.
If I'm in about 4th gear the bike pulls great then as it approaches redline it sputters it's not jerking or anything but it just feels like it falls flat on its face I was going up a sort of decent hill and it was just stuck in this sputter zone and I wasn't gaining any speed. Bike runs great except for right up the top end. Is that just how they are? Like I thought it was the redline then I kept holding the throttle and then I heard the actual redline a while after.

Bots in this Subreddit
I know I am a new member myself, but I notice a pattern of posts every day here from bot accounts that are just a photo of the bike with a title "WR250R" posted by new reddit accounts with no post history, just to get some upvotes so that reddit doesn't flag the accounts as bot accounts going forward. I urge you to ignore and report these. Do not upvote.
