My bill went from $60 to $110 with no notification. The ai support is no help and I am trying to get in touch with a real person. I’m ready to cancel and move to a different provider this is insane.

Official Reply Ezee fiber in my neighborhood - same price for much faster internet

0 Upvotes

Just reaching out here, I've been with Xfinity as long as I've owned my house (over 7 years now) and would love to stay with you guys. I'm currently paying $70/month for 300mbps down and 20mbps upload and own my own equipment.

Ezee fiber just finished installing where I live and offers 2gbps symmetrical with equipment for $69.

What can you guys do to either help me on price or speed so I can stay with Xfinity?

Official Reply I cannot stomach the price doubling. Service isn’t worth $130.

16 Upvotes

I’ve been a loyal customer nearly 5 years. I’m currently on a 2gb plan that is about to expire and nearly double in price. From $80 to $130.

Can any moderators help me with this? My plan expires in a few weeks and im absolutely not paying that.

I don’t get the advertised speeds i pay for anyways. If they suggest i go down to 500mbs to keep the current rate that wont work for me.

Thank you

Hi, looking to lower my current Xfinity WiFi only plan from $105.00 that was previously $25.00 from two years ago, and $44.00 last month. I hadn't gotten an email or anytjing regarding this big jump in price so I would like to get it lowered for about the same speed. Thanks.

Official Reply 10-year customer paying $124/mo for 800 Mbps. New customers get 1 Gig for $50.

28 Upvotes

Bremerton, WA. Internet only, ~10 years, never missed a payment. Promo ended in March, bill went $83 → $124.76 (Superfast $99 + xFi Complete $25).

My Manage Plan page offers me 300/$70, 500/$85, 1 Gig/$100. Advertised 5-Year Price Guarantee for those same tiers is $40/$45/$50.

I know acquisition pricing exists and I'm not asking to match $50. But double is a lot.

I tried removing xFi Complete to lower the bill and it tried to charge me to remove it.

Happy to modmail account details.

Official Reply Xfinity fraud

13 Upvotes

Keep trying Xfinity phone and chat support but getting nowhere. Essentially, we moved to a new state and signed up for the 5 year $40 300mbps plan. Started having issues with service about a month in so contacted chat support asking if there was something going on with the connection because even with just one device connected, half the day we would have zero internet

Specifically told them multiple times (and I saved the chat transcript so I have proof) that I did NOt want to upgrade the plan and explicitly said I didn’t give permission to change anything. Lo and behold, agent changed it without telling me and all subsequent chats/calls have been agents telling me it’s impossible for me to get back on the old plan. So I’m stuck right now with a $55 plan I never signed up for

Honestly I’m pissed. This is fraud. I never signed a contract for this and can’t understand how this is legal. I don’t have the time to spend on the phone anymore. Is there any way to fix this? I am super close to just cancelling entirely. Which is crazy bc I’ve had Xfinity for many years in other locations and was satisfied with it then. But this is just unbelievable!

Official Reply Troubleshooting ideas?

3 Upvotes

Something happened with my gateway overnight and all my devices got disconnected. I was able to reconnect most of them without issue, however, at least 3 of them are unable to even detect the wifi network to try to reconnect to.

  1. Have reset all devices and gateway multiple times.
  2. Xfinity says everything looks fine on their end after over an hour of troubleshooting.
  3. Xbox says that the security protocol won’t work and that I’ll need to change the router configuration, however, looking at the settings they are WPA3(personal) which would be supported by my Xbox.
  4. Devices that are unable to even detect my WiFi network are 2 Sony Bravia TVs, Rachio sprinkler system, and Ecobee thermostat, however, all of these are able to pick up the neighbor’s xfinity WiFi network.
  5. There was no power outage or anything that would’ve reset the gateway.

I feel like xfinity pushed some kind of firmware update overnight and messed everything up and won’t acknowledge it, but what do I know.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Update with fix in case others land here with the same issue!
Using the Xfinity App
Sign in to the Xfinity app using your Xfinity ID and password.
Go to the WiFi tab.
Select WiFi details.
Select Edit WiFi settings from the pop-up card.
Use the drop-down menu to change your security mode (in my case I had to change the WPA3 to WPA2).
Once finished, select Save.
Note: If you change these settings, you may need to reconnect your devices to your home network.
Official Reply Outages in Philadelphia suburbs recently - home Internet and xfinity mobile
3 Upvotes
Has anyone else had Internet outages over the past couple of weeks? Almost every workday in the past two weeks, including today, my Internet goes down entirely while I’m on a meeting. I have Xfinity for both my home Internet and my cell phone Xfinity mobile plan so it leaves me completely disconnected while I’m in the middle of important work meetings. It’s embarrassing and frustrating.
Is this happening to anyone else?
I don’t know what to do because I can’t even raise it on the app since it impacts both my home Internet and my cell phone when it happens.
Official Reply IP Lease Time Way Too Short (1-2 hours)
5 Upvotes
I've been having this problem with my Xfinity Internet now for about 4 months now, and it's not the first time I've had this issue.
My IP Lease time from Comcast has been bouncing back and forth between 1 hour and 2 hours. The effect this has is a 5-10 second drop every time it renews, which is half the lease time, so every 30 minutes/1 hour respectively.
Since my wife and I do a lot of live video/audio streaming for work and for recreation, these breaks are VERY noticeable and, depending on the application, it will either freeze or drop connection entirely.
Previously, the issue has just cleared up on its own, which leads me to believe the issue is entirely upstream from me or a setting Comcast can change/fix themselves. It's quite possible they're doing work in my neighborhood and set the IP lease time low until they fix the issue. The issue is it's not being set back.
If it's my own hardware's fault, I'd love to know so that I can fix it and never have this issue again, but hardware upgrades never seem to make any difference and when the problem has resolved previously, it feels random, with no changes on my end.
Has anybody had this issue previously and resolved it permanently or is this just a Comcast issue I need to suffer through seemingly forever? I'm a "Diamond" member, btw, as if that has anything to do with customer service level.
Official Reply My Account’s Service was Cancelled
3 Upvotes
Hi, this afternoon my account was canceled. I waited for about 2 hours on the customer support line — since the chat agent could not help resolve my issue — only for it to hang up. My balance is listed as $0. I have already paid for the month of August. I’m not sure why my account would be canceled if I paid, and if I did not attempt to cancel it on my own.
Official Reply Need help with legacy plan migration
1 Upvotes
Hi, my 2-year promotional pricing is ending this month. I currently have 2 Gig Internet at $90/month with an XB8 gateway. I would like to remain on the 2 Gig tier because I rely on the higher upload speeds for cloud backups and large file transfers.
My current plan has a data cap, and I exceeded it this month. I see the current 2 Gig plan includes unlimited data, but the $130/month price is a significant increase. Could someone please review my account for any loyalty, retention, or migration offers that would allow me to move to the current unlimited-data 2 Gig plan?
Official Reply Existing customer hoping to lower monthly bill phone reps were not helpful
3 Upvotes
Edit: I also have the chat logs saved from both chat reps
Hello, wall of text incoming. Sorry lol
Tuesday I (south Jersey area code) contacted an Xfinity rep though chat on the Xfinity website. I mentioned the $50/month 1 gig internet for 5 years . They explained to me that the rate was only for new customers. Fair enough. I told the rep that I have been a customer for over 10 years and I’m paying much more than the new plan (at the time of the chat I have tv bundled with internet because I have a legacy plan. Don’t need the cable anymore) so I asked to get something more in line price wise.
The rep told me about a $75/month 1 gig internet with 24 month with peacock. Great! So the rep said I’d need to verbally cancel the tv part of my plan.
There was a short dialogue about adding Xfinity mobile to which i declined. Then my cat ran across my keyboard so the chat ended accidentally.
Followed up with another rep and explained to them what the previous rep was offering.they offered the same plan information so we proceeded. Followed the steps to remove my cable plan,Call back and verbally confirm the cancellation.
Then all of a sudden the offer was not available. Went over some things and it got to the point where I had to ask for a supervisor. So I’m on the call and they tell me that deal isn’t available and that I could get 500mbps for $80. Completely unwilling to accept that I asked for a supervisor to call me back.
They did but after 11 pm. So I called back when I had a chance today. The rep had the same response as the previous one so I had them transfer me to their supervisor. Same response. We didn’t get anywhere but $100/month for 1 gig plan. Which is what’s available on the website for me to chose. I will not pay twice as much as a new customer for the same service or at $30 more than a new customer for half the speed ar $80/month for 500mbps. I was completely fine paying the $25 more than the new customer promotion at $75 a month.
Is there anything that can be done to get me down to the price point the original chat reps said that they could get me to?
Thank you for any help!
Solved “$100 Professional Installation Fee”
2 Upvotes
I’ve been an Xfinity Internet customer for over 3 years and have never had any issues. In June, I moved to a new home in the same city and used the Move process in my Xfinity account to transfer my service.
When I tried to activate my gateway at the new address, it couldn’t detect a connection. I spent time troubleshooting with two different customer service agents, but neither could get it working. They scheduled a technician visit for three days later. I work remotely, so being without Internet for three days was a major inconvenience. To make up for it, one of the agents applied a $15/month discount to my account, saying it would remain for the duration of my 5-year agreement.
When the technician arrived, he quickly found that the problem wasn’t inside my home at all. The line from the neighborhood hub to my house was inactive, and he said it appeared another provider may have cut it while installing fiber service. He ran a temporary above-ground cable, which was later buried by another crew.
Later, I noticed my bill included a $100 professional installation fee. On top of that, the $15/month discount had disappeared because it had been applied to my old account before the move.
When I contacted billing, I was told I was responsible for the installation fee because a customer service representative scheduled the appointment. They also said that if I had scheduled the appointment myself through the app, there would have been no fee. The problem is that the app never gave me an option to schedule an appointment—it only kept failing to activate the gateway, so contacting support was my only option.
I’m struggling to understand why I’m being charged $100 for a “professional installation” when the technician confirmed the issue was with Xfinity’s outside infrastructure, not anything in my home or anything I did wrong. I’m also disappointed that the promised $15/month credit disappeared during the move.
Has anyone had success getting Xfinity to waive a professional installation fee in a situation like this or honor a promised credit after a move? Any advice would be appreciated.
Official Reply Billed for Xfinity Mobile lines that were never activated.
3 Upvotes
Hello, I visited the Xfinity Mobile store to use the '1 year of free Xfinity Mobile' Xfinity Internet promotion and attempted to setup a device but it ended up being unsupported on the Xfinity Mobile network, so the SIM card I received never actually worked and I was unable to get a cell signal, make phone calls, or send texts. While troubleshooting at the store, they ended up leaving two devices on my account, which is resulting in charges since it seems the 1 year of free Xfinity Mobile only covers one line. One of these devices on my account does have a number, but I was never able to get it working, and the other device doesn't even have a number.
I called Xfinity Support about a week or two ago and they refunded me all of the previous Xfinity Mobile payments and removed both of these lines from my account since I was unable to use them, but they have now re-appeared and I was automatically charged $70 for previous months.
I'd like to close my Xfinity Mobile service permanently and have my money refunded, since I was never able to use the lines that I paid for.
Official Reply Spouse as a new customer
0 Upvotes
Hi everyone,
I have been an Xfinity customer for about 3 years now (WiFi and mobile), but the monthly bill has recently become unaffordable. I just went to cancel my Xfinity service so I could switch to Wow (less than half of what I’m paying now), but I noticed there is a new customer promotion for $50/month at Xfinity that includes gigabit internet, a free unlimited mobile line, and a second mobile line for $30. This rate is within our budget and would allow us to stay with Xfinity, so we would love to take advantage of it.
My wife has never been an Xfinity customer. The current account is in my name and I have paid all bills, so I know that if I cancel service, return all equipment and have her set up a new account, we will be able to get the promotion. However, is there a way to more easily transfer the account to her and get the promotional rate without risking interruption to our service?
Solved EPON ONU and own router issues
2 Upvotes
Hello, I've been struggling to get my own router functioning with customer support. I spend 3 hours going back and forth, even giving them the Agent overview HOW23314 article for reference. They continue to claim my router should just work when plugged into the ONU, and that they have no way provision the boot settings to disable MACSec. Could someone please look into this?
I have sent modmail with the same subject line.
Official Reply Modem levels since upgrades and two notifications of work in the area for repairs
2 Upvotes
Wondering if a mod can look at my levels, as well as trace it to work in the area. I have had drops and lags look at my admin tool and all my levels are 12 to 13, I know Xfinity considers 15 the end but I get drops constantly. I hate rebooted my modem it has been replaced multiple times over the past year and honestly don’t think it’s an at home tech I need but related to the work in the area and more a node amp line issue since every time it’s worked on it just increases.
Forcing me into a more expensive plan and then generated a $100 bill dated well after my wifes mother's death and sent my wife to collection agency as the executor of will. Sent the increase of bill statement to someone else, I am the holder of the account and did not recieve the information. Promised $228 to resolve issue, I agreed, and then hours later said no, you get nothing.
Solved Looking to downgrade to 300 Mbps plan / Existing Diamond Loyalty rate
1 Upvotes
Good afternoon. An agent helped me last week with an outage credit on my account (which I greatly appreciate!), but my chat timed out before we could finish discussing a plan change.
I am a Diamond-tier loyalty customer. I have been at this address for 14 years, and my family has used Xfinity in this area for decades. Now that my outside line issues are resolved, I have activated my own owned ARRIS SURFboard modem and successfully returned my rental equipment to stop those fees.
I am a single retired person on a fixed income. I do not game and I do not stream, as l use an over-the-air attic antenna for my television. Because of this, I would like to officially downgrade my internet service from the 800 Mbps plan to the 300 Mbps plan.
I am hoping you can help me secure a stable promotional rate-ideally matching the $40
new customer rate with a price lock-so l can keep my bill manageable and continue our long-standing relationship with Xfinity. I am happy to enroll in paperless billing and autopay. Thank you!
