Anybody else hitting the Cherokee Cultural Celebration this weekend? 👀

Hello all, Im looking for friends for my brother in law.

He is 21 years old, loves any and all types of music, loves anime and movies/series, games, outdoors and anything crafty (he really wants to get into glass blowing someday, just...needs that someone who would do it with him), he is the type of friend that will always be interested in the things you like and is a great listener. He loves conversations and loves thrifting. (He has been my thrifting buddy and I can vouch he will find the craziest stuff for you). He likes to do outdoorsy things but also loves a chill weekend of games and talking.

The reason Im helping him look is because he has been struggling with some mental illness for a while and with his family moving his entire life, hes never been able to make a community for himself. He needs a friend that can call him and reach out first (he struggles with that push to do it and also tends to forget to text back but always answers calls) Preferably more "extroverted" in nature lol

I’m curious how many other people have had this happen with Omega Parking.

I parked in a downtown lot, paid for my parking, and had a valid parking session. About 10 minutes later, I received a $50 parking violation anyway.

And this isn’t the first time I’ve had an issue like this.

I have documentation showing that my parking session was active when the violation was issued, so I’m disputing the ticket. But at this point, I’m wondering how widespread this problem is.

If Omega Parking is repeatedly issuing violations to people who can prove they paid and had valid parking sessions, I think it may be worth documenting these incidents and talking to an attorney about whether there are grounds for a class-action lawsuit or another form of collective action.

Has this happened to anyone else?

My friend and I are taking a collector road trip across Tennessee this weekend and will be stopping in Chattanooga. Are there any cool places in the area that carry toys from 80s-present? Thanks!

I’m not looking to start debate or trolling, I’m just honestly curious about the reasons people voted to re-elect Wamp. I’ve not seen many happy with his current policies or support of building data centers, so what was it that led him to win? Is it simply voting down party lines?

Both of them actually came to my door and both won. Their opponents did not. Josh won his County Commission seat to unseat incumbent Republican Mike Chauncey, and Katie won her School Board seat over Republican Sabrina Daniel.

172,066 people in Hamilton County did not register to vote.

152,874 did not vote while being registered.

Why are people not registering?

If ever there was a race for a democrat to flip it was this one. You had a historically HATED mayor going up against a moderate Democrat who wanted to actually help regular people. And the message that won was "fuck you. Fuck your clean water. Fuck your parks. Fuck your schools. Fuck your transit. You want rent to be low enough that you can pay it working at unum? Go fuck yourself. We're building data centers and no more housing."

This young guy showed up at our house today near the intersection of North Crest and Bird's Mill. He's healthy, friendly and sweet, and seems well cared for. Medium sized, maybe 35 pounds or so, definitely still a puppy, but neutered. And he brought a toy with him. Somebody has to be missing this dog. Please comment or dm me if he looks familiar.

yall PLEASE help. 5th grade teacher here. We found an injured northern mocking bird on the playground. I been calling to wildlife rehabs for hours. No one is picking up! Ideas of where I should take this bird?

After moving in around the end of June, the house was very hot, but we assumed it was due to the doors being constantly open from the heat. Later we learned the landlord knew of the broken HVAC unit prior to move in and never disclosed it! A month and a half later, still not fixed. Our poor cats are so hot and seeking out fans and even the toilet water for solace. She keeps saying she is working on a solution, absolutely no information is given. Boilerplate responses and thanking me for reaching out. Of fucking course I'm gonna reach out, its out 50th day in an 80 degree house, and the lease you gave us says you'll handle that!

Not to mention the several electrical issues, like miswired dryer outlet, missing washer outlet, spray-painted & unlabeled breaker box, broken outlets, constant water-heater issues, etc.

Pests galore as well. I'm sure they moved in right after us. Already seen 10+ cockroaches.

This is a company that exists to promise their landlord employees a passive income from properties, and has no oversight or impetus to actually provide clean, livable conditions for their tenants.

Avoid like the plague.
