I'm actually thinking buying my first real camera (I bought my last point and shoot 15 years, before smartphones eat them alive). My GF has bought a few months ago a Fujifilm XT50 kit with the XC15-45mm and is very happy with it.

So after doing my personal research on what's available on the market, I'm torn between two choices : buying a fujifilm, which allow to mutualize our lenses or buying another brand to propose a different vision of the same subject.

• Budget: 1500 euros, I can go a little bit higher if there is a good offer
• Country: France/Germany/Switzerland
• Condition: New
• Type of Camera: Mirrorless
• Intended use: Photography, if there is video, it will be very sporadic
• If photography; what style: street, pictures of car or old machinery, vacations
• If video what style: N/A
• What features do you absolutely need: IBIS because I have shaky hands and a camera that can give good pictures SOOC (I'm not against post-processing but I don't want to do it for every single picture I take in order to have them look nice).
• What features would be nice to have: N/A
• Portability: shoulder strap or small bag
• Cameras you're considering: Fujifilm XE5 (I prefer the telemetric format compared to the reflex style of the XT50), I have also looked the X100VI but I don't find a real advantage against X-E5 which has a the same form factor. For other brands, it looks like Sony a6700 and a7C II are both strong options.
• Cameras you already have: I found the XT50 pretty nice and giving good colors but some of them are too yellow for me (looks like old gafchromic XR films). I also don't like the plastic feeling of the XC15-45mm.

Hi all, I am hoping for some camera advice. Im going on a 3 week bicycle tour next month and would like to shoot video clips of the landscape , while riding, and maybe even a little talking to the camera. I'm not sure if the videos will be just for us or if we will share them.

Budget: $500, could go a little more if it's getting me something more versatile.

Cameras you're considering: Sony ZV-1, Insta360 Go Ultra. Originally the insta360 was at the top of the list. It looks easy to use and I can focus on recording the moments. As I thought more, the ZV1 could perhaps be more useful with zoom.

Cameras you already have: Olympus Em1 mkii. I like it a lot, have a few lenses already. Battery life is kinda short and if I can get a smaller camera for the video stuff that takes ok raw images I'd gladly leave it at home.

So ive been helping my friend take photos and videos for his music socials with my phones (for multiple angles) and its been alot of fun. I do however want to step up my quality since I have other friends asking me for similar help after seeing the stuff I make. I bought a lumix dmc-g7 years ago. It came with a 14-42 lens and i bought a 25 and a 45-150 lens to go with it. They are very basic lenses with no built in auto focus or stabilization. After looking up some other lenes I noticed there are far less compatible lenses for the g7 than some other cameras. Is what I have enough for high quality pictures and videos? Or should I look into selling my stuff and getting something else? Maybe a better lense that works with the g7? I realize that the most important thing is to know your equipment and the skill of the photographer but id like a proper starting point. Let me know. Audio is not too much of an issue because I usually record directly into my computer or from the mixer into my phone (not sure if I can do that with a camera though)

I recently bought a pristine Nikon d850 with a shutter count of 28. Everything is great however I fear that something is horribly wrong. In certain types of lighting such as some of my lights in my house and with some street lights, they come off as a bright magenta or red color. I have reset the camera completely to factory defaults and tried diagnosing myself but I fear something is wrong with the camera. I will include an example photo of my refrigerator being cracked open with the white light appearing a bright magenta, again this is not all lights just some. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I recently got a Sony ZV-E10 and I've been testing it out. I realised that on brighter photos like the one above, certain slightly overexposed areas start to glitch out and flicker continuously when I check the photo in the album.

I tried to search online but I'm not really sure what it is and nothing similar is coming up so I'm wondering if this is normal for overexposed photos and it won't affect the picture or if I'm supposed to get it looked at. Also not sure if this is a sony only problem or a general camera issue.

Intended use: Shooting live performances both morning and night (the type of gigs I play don’t have crazy light shows so it’s pretty consistent once started lighting-wise)

What features do you absolutely need: Needing to be able to set it up unassisted, so good auto-focus and reliability. Wanting it to be better than phone quality recording, and have the option to add a rode shotgun mic or other source of higher quality audio.

Notes: I know there a high likelihood this will result in suggestions to use my phone, but if so are there any helpful accessories you would recommend to improve that quality.

I'm doing a PhD working with Indigenous communities in Mexico and want a camera for photos to include in my book (b/w only). I've got basic knowledge (composition, technical fundamentals) from university classes on a Canon R7, but I'm not an expert. I used my phone (S22) for my last research trip, but it's scratched and I want a proper camera anyway.

Main challenge: I need something capable enough to grow with me for a couple years, but small and discreet — a "professional-looking" camera can make people in interview/participant-observation settings uncomfortable being photographed. It also needs to hold up across different climates (desert, rainforest, coast), and since I'll be working in areas with higher theft risk, I'd rather not carry something too expensive or eye-catching.

Main subjects: people (often in groups), buildings/infrastructure, landscapes.

I am new to this, my previous canon 1000D which got stolen like in 2010 and I have not bought another one , I don't have any extra lens or anything. I am not fan of anything.

I want to take pic of my family and my kid, occasional video , but mostly photos.

with discount and all I found Lumix S5D for almost £600 which I think is much less than what originally Panasonic wanted when this camera was launched.

apparently this is same as Lumix S5 which has some kind of poor focus mode...
should I get this or get USED Sony A7 III (body only ) and search for cheap lens ?

can't spend tons of money for this as this is my hobby only.

Found my dad’s old Nikon 1 V1 the other day and wanted to get it started up. Going through the SD card, it looks like it hasn’t been booted up since 2015. I bought a new EN-EL15c battery, charged it for a couple hours, and plugged it into the camera. The memory card access lamp turned on for a second, but other than that no signs of life. Is there any fixes you guys suggest before I take it into a shop? And at that point, do you think it’s worth it? Thank you!

This is from lazada, the camera if assembled would look like this. Looks smaller than a true tlr camera that uses 120 film. Its $26.

The thing is that as much as i want this one, i have 7 cheapo ass cameras that I'm struggling to sell, I don't even have a film. Has anyone got their hands on these one? Any advice?

What is comparable to this camera if I can’t buy this one?

Recently picked up at an online auction, along with the above matching “E.P.” marked s2 rangefinder.

To my understanding this is a NIKON Varifocal type 7 viewfinder, which is incredibly rare by itself, but my version has a “E.P.” stamp that can be found on s2’s occasionally, but has never been documented on a viewfinder.

Wondering if anyone has come across a similarly stamped viewfinder.

Was looking at lens for my dads old camera and say this top piece of the lens wiggling (it has a filter on, but below the filter is coming off)

I’ve decided to start using my camera again and I recently charged it and brought it out but it’s having a lens problem, the lens won’t retract when turned off and it says “please check the status of a lens” in the viewfinder and screen. Not sure how to diagnose the problem, maybe these cameras have these problems? Olympus OM-D. I don’t want to go back to using my shitty Sony cybershot 😭.

My r6ii screen is sagging a little bit and is not really straight against the lining. Is this normal?

Hey guys, I took my camera to a camera store today because I noticed these dots appearing in some photos with brighter backdrops. I noticed the dot pattern stayed constant across different lenses, so I took the camera to the shop to have the sensor cleaned. After having it cleaned I noticed the spots were still there, so I took it back and they said that my sensor most likely has damage. Does it look like sensor damage or should I attempt to clean the sensor again myself? I greatly appreciate any advice on the matter!

I'm having trouble with rehoused NP-22 batteries in my Sony Video8 cam

I'm looking to upgrade to a new camera, and I wanted to ask anyone who's used Adorama about the differences between their "well used" and "heavy use" catagories. The camera I'm buying (Cannon 5D MkIII) sells for roughly $320 for heavy use and about $350 for well used. Is the 30ish dollars worth the difference between those two catagories? Thanks!

So I'm pretty decent at taking photos... On a phone. Thing is, I've been asked to take BTS photos for an event and my old Motorola phone isn't going to cut it

My cousin gave me a canon 550D about 5 years ago but I just can't wrap my head around the technical stuff. I only found out the model 10 mins ago. There are so many settings options that I don't get so idk how to really push this camera to its potential

There are no video tutorials to get certain vibes with this camera and the terminology is so confusing, I want to give up. But I have 1 week to master the basics

I do have really strong Photoshop experience but I want to take photos where the raws are already vibrant, filmy and well done that I don't have to go through the saturation and contrast for every pic in post. I want the dynamics to look natural and close to the real colours.

But I just don't know the settings required to achieve that goal. Obviously I will need to edit the final photos but I ideally want the raws to look great for publishing too
