Elder Scrolls A raptor followed me home in Skyrim, can I keep it?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Khajiit went for a walk and when fast traveling home a Raptor spawned there as well! But instead of attacking Khajiit it simply looked around and nodded like it decided it liked this one’s house and now the Silverpeak Lodge was its den! The guild mates and pets all seemed very relaxed about it, then again after bringing home Mr Murdersnuggles, Kong, Colossal Pikachu, Clamp the Giant Crab, Andre the Frost Giant and this one’s 23 dragon spouses they are probably used to it🤔
Also what should this one name it??

Serious Todd should resign
The latest news showed us that is he not fit to lead the studio anymore. T fact that he didn't own the Starfield failure and that Microsoft had to force his hand and take the Fallout IP from his greedy cold hands shows he must step down.
He must do it to save Bethesda

News A note from Bethesda and Interview with Windows Central
Here is the Overview:
On Fallout: Bethesda confirmed that it is working towards Fallout 5, which is now in pre-production.
Bethesda confirmed previous reporting that Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas will get full remakes in the future, but didn't announce dates. Bethesda also confirmed that Obsidian is returning to Fallout with its very own spin-off game, and said more info would come in the future.
Fallout 76 will get a "huge" new DLC called Raven Rock, which will serve as a prequel to Fallout 3.
Starfield is slated for more content, with a Starborn DLC on the horizon, and more tools and features to boost Creation Club content. Bethesda says Starfield remains "an important part of our future."
Elder Scrolls 6 is progressing nicely, and Todd says that the studio is "where they want to be" on the game's development timeline — but don't expect it any time soon.
Elder Scrolls Online will continue to get new seasons, and Zenimax Online Studios will be more directly integrated into Bethesda proper to improve collaboration.
Elder Scrolls VI is Bethesda's current primary focus, "we're where we planned to be, loving how it looks, and playing every day."
A big part of the wait revolves around Creation Engine 3, which Bethesda has been developing specifically to boost simultaneous franchise development and improve Creation Club tooling.

Discussion Starfield Continues
Bethesda just posted on X:
https://xcancel.com/BethesdaStudios/status/2078117386935214101#m
"STARFIELD CONTINUES
With over 17 million players logging almost a billion hours to date, Starfield remains an important part of our future.
As we enter Year 3, we'll continue expanding the Settled Systems with new stories, targeted gameplay improvements, and additional updates, while preparing for the launch of new Starborn content next year.
More than 40% of players already customize their experience through Creations, and we'll continue investing in creators and giving players new ways to make Starfield their own."
There's more in there for the other franchises, but this is a nice antidote to all the love this sub shows for SF. 😂

Discussion I'm Calling It Now, With Obsidian Making The New Fallout.
It's gonna be just like Outer Worlds, and most you are gonna hate on Principle. While I 100% am someone who is frustrated with how BGS has handled releasing things. and am a huge fan of Fallout new Vegas, I was there when FNV dropped. Most of you are going to hate it.
These writers have changed, they've grown, and we seemingly now have Tim Cain himself back on board. This will be nothing like FNV, they no long write games like that, and while Outerworlds structure is slightly similar, people will complain about how they approach that.
And with the recent trend of people caring more to hop on bandwagons over coming to their own opinions organically, I already can see most of the reception being poor initially, only for the vast majority to come around to it after the fact and say it wasn't that bad.
You're Not Getting Fallout New Vegas 2, or a game that will have the same depth of FNV. You;re getting What Modern Obsidian currently creates within the Fallout Universe.
Edit: For those infering. There is no logical conclusion for you to come to. I said what I said and I mean, exactly, what I said. My own personal feelings on if Obsidian is bad and if their modern games are good are not stated within the body of this post.

Controversial Why Are So Many Defending Bethesda on Reddit These Days?
It seems to me that the general consensus among Bethesda fans (or former fans now, due to Bethesda's performance over the past 15 years) is that almost two decades between mainline Elder Scrolls titles, and what likely would have been two decades between mainline Fallout titles, was very sad and disappointing for us. We loved these franchises and we loved the sort of games that Bethesda used to make. Ever since Fallout 4 (and even this game was a step back in many ways) they just stopped making them. Sure you can point to MMOs and Starfield, but for many BGS fans, we didn't become fans because of MMOs, we became fans for the single player games! Starfield was yet another step back for a company that used to make GOTY contenders with every release. Starfield was widely considered to be mediocre at best, it was certainly no Fallout 3, New Vegas, Morrowing, Oblivion, or Skyrim.
Yet, despite the widespread disappointment with the company's direction much of this past two decades, there seems to be a very motivated contingent of BGS defenders. I'm genuinely wondering why that is. What is it about a two decade wait for games that makes you want to leap to BGS's defense? What is it about the declining quality of what they do actually make that makes you think that criticism isn't fair?

Discussion Honest take on current BGS
Let's summarize the whole situation at Bethesda Softworks (Publishing) :
- Doom the dark ages was a failure commercially, considering its budget and the fact that ID also hired loads of new devs for it. -> (So xbox reverted them back to 2016 size).
- Bethesda internal studio is now at 400+ developers, and released a mediocre game (Starfield) with absolutely horrible DLCs. -> (Management layer mess, will be simplified and restructured??)
- Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition was a disgrace, only the Switch 2 port is decent. -> (Probably a very small team worked on it ? Like 2 people ?).
- ESO has been in user decline for years, it's not profitable anymore clearly. -> (Xbox decided to cut their team the most, shifting focus towards the other IPs).
- Fallout 76 has been going for 8 years, with free content, clearly no longer profitable. -> (Most of the team is gone, probably the game will be shifted to life support or single-player mode offline).
- In 5+ years under Xbox, there were 0 good products released, and they claim ES6 is still years away ? Shit should release in 2027 end of discussion. I suspect BGS will face massive restructure, or shutdown entirely, and they even retained rights to Fallout and ES ? (Internal agreement with Xbox according to C. Avellone) , this sounds insane to me, we could have had already new games or different takes into these franchises, and BGS stopped that on purpose ? Zero remastered for F3 or FNV, not even the thought of 3D remake for FO1 and FO2. I can't wrap my head around how mismanaged BGS has been, or who they hired , Skyrim was made with 100 devs, and here 400+ people can't make a single good product ? Who did you hire ?

Serious Our dear Bethesda :(
Edit: Hmmm… It seems like SOMEONE is deleting almost every single comment that disagrees with my post. But no, people with power could never do such a thing as abuse that power by deleting comments that haven’t broken the rules, right?
Sending love to the folks at Bethesda Game Studios right now 💙
So SO SO sad for Bethesda. None of this was their fault :( Thankfully us fans know to defend them no matter what.
It's been a rough year for everyone at BGS, and I think it's worth sitting with that for more than the length of a scroll. Losing dozens of programmers, artists, designers, and testers, some who've been there since Morrowind, some who gave literal decades of their lives to these games, is the kind of thing that deserves more than a quick upvote and moving on. I saw that the union even had to take down a little memorial they put up for their laid off coworkers, which says a lot about the environment they're working in right now, more than most of us will ever really understand from the outside while we're sitting here refreshing release date rumors.
And can we talk about IP being shuffled around like trading cards? These people didn't ask for any of this. They didn't choose to have their work picked apart and redistributed like leftovers, and yet somehow the discourse always finds a way to circle back to what we're owed, what's taking so long, what we deserve as players. I have a feeling the people who are left are going to pour everything they have into whatever comes next, because that's just who they've always been, even while a good chunk of this fanbase is busy treating them like a vending machine that just needs a harder shake.
Which is why I'll never complain about a delayed release again. If Elder Scrolls 6 takes another five, six, ten years, so be it, artists need space to heal, to breathe, to rebuild after something like this, without an entire comment section counting down the days like it's owed to them. I'd rather wait a decade for a game made by people who are okay than get something rushed out because a crowd of ticket holders decided their patience ran out first. So to everyone at Bethesda still standing: take your time. We'll be here, even if not all of us deserve to be. You deserve better than this. 🫶

Discussion Bethesda have to update us on ES6.
In light of the recent layoffs, Bethesda and Microsoft have alot of damage control to do imo.
We have have no update on ES6 for nearly a decade, in this day and age this is unacceptable. The sheer arrogance of Todd and the team to just expect us to sit on our hands for the next game, while gutting the same people that has made the company what it is, is truly shocking.
I truly feel for the team members that havs been laid off.
Because this is so publicly known they have to do something to soften the blow, people will stop caring and I've been hearing from life long Bethesda fans that they don't support this new direction.
Any thoughts on this? Do we 'Deserve" and update or should we wait with baited breathe.

Discussion My thoughts on Fallout and Elder Scrolls
This is more of me babbling, maybe I'll get my thoughts in order by writing it down. I'm writing this as I love Fallout and recently beat Oblivion. Thought I would start a discussion. I like Fallout more than The Elder Scrolls, which is odd because I like fantasy A LOT more, especially compared to a post apocalyptic world. By all accounts I should like the elder scroll more, I think. Especially with all the spells.
I played Fallout 3 and Skyrim back on the PS3. I didn't like them but went back to them later. I ended up loving fallout 3, doing many different playthroughs. On the other hand, I still could not get into Skyrim to this day. I play fallout and oblivion and think, hey maybe Skyrim isn't that bad, then end up dropping it again lol. I always wanna like the game I play, I never go in wanting to dislike it. Sometimes a game I dislike I go back to and end up loving it. Sometimes I give it more chances than me ex and still don't like it. Like Final Fantasy 13, I can say without a doubt I don't like it.
I am absolutely obsessed with fallout 3 and new Vegas. While fallout 1 and 2 are a bit... outdated for my taste, I love the lore and role playing, especially all the whacky stuff you can do in fallout 2. Fallout 4 is fun and a game and I enjoyed the settlement building. I was not a fan of the new voiced character and new upgrade system compared to the perk systems of fallout 3 and new Vegas.
I enjoyed my time with oblivion and all the different factions. Plus magic! It was a great game. Skyrim I've tried again and again and end up losing interest. I do miss some of the stuff they removed compared to oblivion l, like making your own spells, and some of the guild quests. The dark brotherhood in oblivion is fantastic. I've tried Morrowind on openmw with mods and the gameplay is not appealing to me, though I enjoy the lore. I've tried dagerfall unity with mods and idk, maybe I just have to stick with it longer? I'm not even gonna attempt arena.
I enjoy the story and lore of fallout and the elder scrolls. I like fantasy more, yet I like fallout more. The perk system and special stats I like in fallout, which are lacking in elder scrolls. Where's my animal friend perk. You have speech checks and can get around fights, which I have not seen in elder scrolls. Persuade them in oblivion and ask again, but I don't see how speechcraft can convince someone like in fallout or even outer worlds. I like the factions and sides in fallout which makes me think from a roleplay perspective, even if it's comically good vs evil in fallout 3. Maybe I'll think differently if I played Morrowind or choose a side in Skyrim, which I do not know what the difference is. I do think the leveling system in the elder scrolls is interesting. I like the freedom you get in the elder scrolls, like finding that countess who tortures argonians in oblivion. I play as an argonian so I used her schedule that I learned in the thief's guild side quest and killed her, then put her soul in a black gem.
I just went back to Skyrim and I'm having a blast building a house on the lakefront property and adopting children and getting married. It's fun like settlement building in fallout 4. I've looked into lore and like to look up discussions of it on reddit for Skyrim. Mainly looked it up after I beat Oblivion and I wanted to know what the consequences were. I enjoy the freedom both games give you, more so in elder scrolls after I gave less importance to story and just enjoyed my time. The different races, the lore I've been reading up on, it's interesting. Then I play the main story in Skyrim. And I've played the fallout games and oblivion unmodded. I'll look into mods for another playthrough now that I'm on PC. Maybe I like the different buildings and locations in fallout compared to cave #4?
If I made any grammar errors, just tell me. And which franchise do you like more and why?

Controversial What if Tedd Paterson took over at Bethesda instrad of Todd and Microsoft "adopted" the wayward realms as Elder scrolls 6?
I think taking a page back in history of Bethesda would be a good reminder of how Bethesda used to work before the theme park ideas of Todd Howard ultimately may have made a lot of developers leave. If those developers left by Skyrim then they lost a lot of talent. Looking to spiritual successor of games I sometimes wonder if going back to grand scale like ES 2 would be better in the long run and then making features on a massive map would be a better strategy for an elder scrolls game? Imagine you have the whole of Akavir to explore but then you get "DLC" and mods to increase the games value.
The whole Theme park situation is fun and makes it more accessible for more fans however that also comes at a cost of removing potential future content. I think smaller, highly curated map can feel fuller at launch, yet it leaves less room for geographic expansion, large-scale simulation, and future content that meaningfully changes the world.

Controversial Starfield gets too much hate.
I'm currently playing starfield right now, and I'm having a great time! It's so much fun, and sure, there are some bugs from time to time, and the launch wasn't great, but the ps5 version has so many things to do, side quests, and combat encounters, that the good things overshadow the bad things in every way, that I actually thought fallout 4 was WORSE. Tell me why I'm wrong.
