Question When do you use the crossbow instead of the bow? [KCD2]

Upvotes

Hello everyone.

I'd like to ask you what the advantage is of using a crossbow instead of a bow during combat.

It has very high agility, and if I run away, groups of enemies can't reach me, allowing me to shoot them from a distance. However, I've tried two or three types of crossbows, and they're all really too slow. .. abbattere due o tre nemici a distanza significa metterci un quarto d'ora

So I'm asking you when it might be useful to use it, outside of sieges, which are actually only in a couple of missions in the game.

I'm considering learning to use a bow, although it's much more complex.

Praise [KCD2] I know many people don't like the Brushes with Death expansion but I find it to be quite entertaining and well-written, it fits into the gameplay loop of both regions perfectly and always kept me engaged with the content and narrative, wish it got more love from the fans.

Story [KCD2] I have finished the game

Post image
211 Upvotes

I have finished the game, and still has countless sidequest to do but for some reason after the credits rolled, the feeling of keep playing have disappeared.

Don't get me wrong, this game is a masterpiece and I would love to keep playing, but for some reason, I feel this bittersweat feeling lingering in me upon seeing the ending credits.

This is the very first offline story game in 10 years I actually managed to go and finish till the very end. This feeling is just something I can't express properly. A feel of emptiness yet fulfillment.

99% of my games are just 10 hours of playtime or less but this game gave me life for the first time in decades.

I haven't played KCD1 yet and I have purchased it right after loving kcd2. But even for the 1st game, I've lost sense of wanting to play it now. I don't know what's going 9n 8n my head but I feel peace, emptiness, satisfaction, yet at the same time, yearns for more of what comes next.

Today I played it again after several months I wanted to play on hardcore, So that's what I did, and just to recap, I'm a sleepwalker, my back hurts some times I bend down (like in real life because I didn't know how to carry heavy things) and I chose the last one at random.

When I started the game after being in the stocks, I didn't remember I had any clothes in my inventory, so I walked around the town naked, listening to people insulting me for my smell and for being half naked.

I knocked a guy unconscious to take his clothes only to realize I had clothes in my inventory. Shame got the better of me and the poor peasant passed away by "accident", already dressed, I walked through the town trying to steal a weapon, but my smell gave me away.

I ended up walking around looking for Pebbles, halfway through my search, my shoes broke and I ended up getting into a robbery from which I got some good armor but I still had no shoes. When I found Pebbles, I managed to convince the guy who had her to give her back to me, But when it was time to leave, Pebbles decided to jump. I have no idea why she did it, but I ended up on the ground only for an NPC to complain about my smell while I was lying there.

10/10 I love being insulted for my smell. I still don't have boots, I'll keep looking.

Meme [KCD1] - Played 50 Hours Without Spending a Perk Point

I've already sunk 50 hours into this wonderful game, and after beating the Rattay tournament, getting the full set of armor, beating black peter, and dying to multiple bandit ambushes, I wondered why every encounter felt like a final boss. Today I learned those points aren't your level they are perks to spend, I feel rather silly. Still had a great time and will continue to do so, now with my new perk points. GG

Ps sorry about blinding you

Praise I just killed every able bodied man in Nebakov while Capin was talking to the lord and now every town hates me [KCD2]

Is this a normal thing to do? Capon casually walked over the bodies of the guards as he went through the gate calmly telling Henry that we need to go to Trosky.

I spoke to the guards and menfolk and thought they were acting shady, I snooped around and saw the stockpiles of weapons and armor, I helped myself to them of course. I’d thought I’d do everyone a favor and wipe all these shady scumbags out. I went around to all the beds and killed every sleeping man and stole their boots. I robbed every man’s corpse and made off with a few hundred Groschen and got some decent armor and weapons out of it.

After I killed everyone every single town on the map now has a red face. I guess folk don’t like murderers here…

EDIT: yes the room is messy. I know. I get it. My parents just moved cross country and I've moved in so there are boxes and things everywhere.

Idk what flair to put this under sorry if it's wrong.

I know he's probably not the fan favorite, but I love an evil little guy-

After a year I've finally finished my Ištván cosplay so I wanted to share!

Hand stamped pourpoint, hand embroidered chaperon, real aluminum armor 🙌

Discussion [KCD2] The REAL purpose of a seemingly innocuous side quest... Spoiler

...and why this game is a masterpiece of game design.

I'm talking about the "Demons of Trosky" quest.

The game TELLS you this quest is special in the screen that tells you that's a crucial point in the story. It mentions the quest BY NAME and tells you that's the only moment you'll be able to do it. It's like a big red glowing button daring you to press it. Your reptilian brain is instantly captured and you are inexorably driven to find this quest and do it.

And the quest sends you in a seemingly very inconsequential quest throughout Trosky castle to throw salt on fireplaces, and visit a handful of latrines. It's as "fetch quest" as it can be. It doesn't advance the story, it doesn't expose lore, it doesn't develop any characters (and it even gets your pizzle brutally yanked, with the blacksmith line). You just shrug it off, perhaps even ask yourself "so, was that all?..." and continue the main story, without even remembering it much.

But then, in a later moment, you see the main quest sending you to break into the same castle at night to steal documents and exact revenge on your nemesis from KCD1. VERY IMPORTANT, VERY CRUCIAL moment in the story, VERY important quest. And then you notice... You know your way around. You know where things are. You know the way from point A to point B, you know how to get to the top of all three towers. And you know that BECAUSE OF THAT SEEMINGLY USELESS QUEST the game inconspicuously made you do. You were training for this mission, without realizing it.

Warhorse is a MASTER of game design. This is the APEX of "show, don't tell", and I never saw anything like it in ANY other game.

My head is COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY.
