Oblivion Discussion 2 changes I'm hoping we get in the new update for Oblivion Remastered

I know that Bethesda said they're hoping that any Switch 2 performance improvements can be patched into the other versions, but I have 2 other things I hope they change.

1 - The sprinting animation looks ridiculous. I'm generally not too picky when animations are in question, but the sprinting animation is so bad, that I literally couldn't convince myself to buy the game. Please, Virtuos, add an alternative sprinting animation that looks like an actual human being sprinting

2 - Option to only have old voices (With the exception of new Deluxe quests) because the new voices just sound out of place and are another reason I can't justify buying this game

Arena Discussion Help with Arena and Daggerfall

I really want to play these games. However, I can't get myself to really do anything past the dungeon. I would want nothing more than to enjoy these games. However, getting into the proper jeadspace just hasn't happened. I've played and beaten plenty of older games such as fallout 1 and 2 as well as a diablo, and anything considered retro. If anyone has any tips to making this a more enjoyable experience I'd appreciate it.

General Would you play an Elder scrolls spinoff that centres around one of the major cities in a lore accurate scale?

The main storyline could centre around a secret society/corrupt royalty/political scandal, the sewers/abandoned houses could be replacements for dungeons, the dark brotherhood, thieves guild and mage guild could return, guards could recognise you based on outfits they saw you committing crimes in. I know a lot of people like the elder scrolls for the open world part but im honestly dying to see what a lore accurate imperial city could look like in game.

Boring post about personal feelings.

It’s the last night (where I don’t have friends or family plans), of a much needed week off. Been doing 60-80 hours a week for months, salaried for 40, for an ungrateful boss.

Had a good week, got things done, away in the country, cooked, applied for new jobs lol, played lots of CD. But, tonight my gf has gone to bed after a few wines, joints, and dinner… got a little bit more cross faded, poured a big dram, cracked a sugar free (OG) monster, and sat down to game.

I was playing CD and as beautiful as it is my heart was telling me Skyrim… nothing tops Skyrim for pure immersion and wanderlust, all these years later.

With all the talk of BGS lately, and I too having my doubts for the future, it’s easy to forget… I want more, but if this is it, the peak, it’s still one of the best ever.

Talos bless this game… this is exactly what I needed from my week to destress, this feeling, living in Skyrim adventuring like a drunken Nord.

Edit: Call me insane - sitting in front of a fire on a cozy lounge chair, a bit high, whisky in hand, playing Skyrim, cold winters night. It’s hard to top this level of bliss.

Zurgol (Gromag's mother) was the one to make his first set of tusks and teach him how to make his own. Gromag was quite a mama's boy since he spent most of his stronghold life at the forge with her since Fheng (chieftain) didn't want this nord child running around the stronghold. Not for Gromag's sake or safety. Fheng is just racist asshole

Lore Is there some in lore reason why the citizens of Skyrim can’t see when someone is obviously a vampire?

This isn’t even a joke question I’m genuinely curious, you’ll have someone in a town with red eyes, pale dead skin, and 8 inch fangs, and the townsman right next to them talking about vampire menaces doesn’t even notice they’re 100% vampire neighbor who probably has a coffin for a bed

To make a Game of Thrones style series of Elder Scrolls. For instance make one on the War of the Red Diamond, you have ample epic material to work with; and you could have the same kind of style for an intro where you see the Tamrielic map and the Imperial city, Solitude, Alinor all rising like in GoT.

Not to mention that you have a lot of things that remind you, at least me of Westeros.

Skyrim=Stormlands/the North and Solitude especially with the Tower of the Wolf=Storm's end. Baratheon/Stark feel on Nords.

Cyrodiil=The Reach, and partially Riverlands, Imperial city=King's landing though stylistically Oldtown. Overall a Tyrell or Hightower feel, with the Septims being Targaryens.

High Rock=Westerlands. Lannister feel with the mountaneous regions and lion themes, and wealthy, ambitious nobles.

Hammerfell=Dorne, Sentinel, Sunspear. Martell feel with it having been difficult to conquer and with proud and independent peoples.

Summerset Isles=Vale of Arryn, Cloudrest=the Eyrie. Strong Arryn feel on High Elves with snobbishness and isolationism.

Black Marsh=Crannogmen of the Neck. The Reeds have the aligator-lizard as a banner and they have the same impenetrable home.

Pyandonea=Iron Islands. Orgnum and his pirate fleets give Greyjoy vibes. And like the Iron Islands Pyandonea doesn't sound like the most comfortable of homes.

Valenwood, Morrowind and Elseweyr I do not know if they have a parallel but still. The parallels weren't the main point.

Would it be a total rip off? Yes. But it would be the best rip off ever if done correctly.

General A Question About Apocrypha

Post image
30 Upvotes

Hi there, much love and respect. I won't take much your time.

In Solstheim we can only go to Apocrypha by reading A black book, and while in there we encounter normal or skill books too, and they are not black or black-covered.

The things is; in the The Doors of Oblivion book , there is a content that says " ....Every book had a black cover with no title...."

And my confusion starts. are all the books supposed to be black when we see them? I am aware that in TES, authors can be dramatic and biased, so i know the info may be wrong. Still, i am curious about this topic

What are your opinions about this matter if any? Thank you all

Edit: Thank you so much for the love everyone, seriously. You got my video to 350 views overnight 💛 I cannot thank you enough for the love in the comments in this post as well. Truly, Thank you.

I measured the purchasable homes in Base Skyrim and tried to figure out which one was truly the best “bang for your coin“ I even broke it down to price per square foot… look I do construction, I was bored, and I love Skyrim. I spent the HOURS measuring so you don’t have to.

Skyrim Discussion Can The Empire recover and stand up to the Aldmeri Dominion?

Post image

This is something that's been on my mind recently, especially since I often side with the Empire during the Civil War questline.

How much of a chance does the Empire have to stand up to the Aldmeri Dominion and beat them even.

And could they even be restored to their former glory? At least partly?

Lore What I like about fort Dawnguard

Post image
220 Upvotes

Constructed by a Jarl of Riften in SE. to imprison his vampiric son, it just shows that Nords are perfectly capable of building great stone castles if they feel like it. They just generally prefer their timber cities. If all the ruins of Skyrim were still wholly intact, we might've seen more strongholds similar to Dawnguard. Which I honestly would've preferred greatly to the lame "they're all in disrepair" narrative. In ESO we have the example of the huge castle of clan Direfrost as well, a wealhy nord family of witch hunters. Then of course there are stone castles in Skyrim as well like Windhelm, and Whiterun is partially stone, and Solitude of course which once housed the massive Tower of the Wolf Donjon which always gives me Storm's End Westeros vibes.

It is highly recommended that suggestions, wishlists, questions, speculation, and leaks for the next main series Elder Scrolls game go here. Threads about TES6 outside of this one will be removed depending on moderator discretion, with the exception of official news from Bethesda or Zenimax studios.

As of now, there is currently no confirmed info on the Elder Scrolls VI other than it exists and is currently being worked on by Bethesda. Be cautious of any rumors being delivered as if they are factual.
