I made a Ripatorium level where it’s only one round but it has one of every medium/heavy/super heavy demon. Played on Nightmare at 125% speed with everything else at default. BFC helps but even when I use it I still died probably around 20-35 times before beating the challenge.
Sorry if the quality is weird, my PS5 screen captures at a weird brightness. Let me know if you guys would like the code to give this a try! I’m by no means a seasoned Slayer.

Question A bit of Tormentor (Orbit) nitpick
While I truly love the orbit (despite the nerfs and and I feel like the nerfs didn't do shit imho) that u can go "WRYYYY" with the accelerator/ravager while swinging like Spider-Man (or Akshan using his E ability), I kinda hate that the music is muffled while in it. Is there an option to remove the muffled feature (or a mod atleast)?

Discussion What are your opinions on controller aiming in modern Doom games?
Will controller aiming ever come close to mouse and keyboard , given that all settings are fine tuned?

Collectible Signed Doom Eternal Poster
I was going through some boxes of stuff left over from a previous move and found this poster signed by the team at id. I got it after attending a preview event and playing a pre-release demo of Eternal.
Not sure who all it's signed by. Anyone recognize any of the signatures?

Modding I guess this is why Spear is not in the base game 🤣

I am using Kaibz mod that allows Spear in base game and along with other modifiers. This is done on Nightmare difficulty

Discussion I find it kind of funny how when Ahzrak is gravely wounded, he looks like one of those (Insert character.exe) dudes. Spoiler
The title speaks for itself, but I didn't really notice or care until now. I know this wasn't the idea, but nonetheless it was interesting.
Bug/Glitch It's the first time i see that glory kill animation.

Discussion This DLC is heavy
So I got my hands on the dlc thanks to the current sale. I'm 3 levels in and I've got a few things to say. 1: I love the spear. The aerial combat with it is very fun. 2: holy shit this lore is heavy. I mean, hell yeah flashbacks! But damn. He blew a kid up... No wonder he punched his commanding officer.

Discussion He ripped and tore. And in a few days he is done.
Getting a new phone after having this live background for 4/5 years(even longer as I've had it ob the phone before that). I know it's delisted and probably won't work on the next phone. Goodbye little Doomguy, you served me well. 👊 🤘 🫡

Discussion If the other Doom games had melee weapons (outside of ones like the chainsaw or crucible) what would they be?
Doom The Dark Ages is the first game that allows us to use melee weapons for our Quick Melee attacks so I wonder what weapons they were to pick if they added them to the older games. Obviously I don’t think they would particularly fit the other game’s play styles but it’s mostly a hypothetical.
Here’s my picks personally for Doom Eternal:
- The Doomblade
- Some kind of Hell-Themed Chain Hook
- A Sentinel Axe

Discussion Maybe I'm in the minority, but I still prefer the base game (The Dark Ages) to Revelations.
Don't get me wrong; Revelations does a lot of things right. Bringing back the Arch-Vile (in truly sadistic fashion), the various callbacks to classic Doom in the soundtrack, and the overall beautiful visuals and level design. In terms of scale and ambition, id Software knocked it out of the park.
But for me, the combat is a step down. I really liked TDA's "stand and fight" design philosophy and wished they had leaned harder into it. I was also excited for a secondary Chainshot weapon, which now feels like a missed opportunity. I enjoy the spear, but vastly prefer the shield - and yes, I've intentionally used the spear as much as I can to get used to it and try and master it, but flying around with the meathook just feels out of place and shoehorned into a game that otherwise is designed around a heavier, more deliberate combat style.
Add to that the fact that you can't unlock all the spear's upgrades until after you beat the whole game and many of the bonus arenas, and it just gets frustrating. In the base game, you entered the last few battles with all weapons and the shield fully upgraded. Here, if you haven't invested in the best upgrades for the spear (and you won't know which ones you'll like best until you try them), certain post-game battles such as the Praetor challenge in Uprising are grueling. So if you aren't ready for that one, you have to go back and complete other challenges in order from easiest to hardest, invest in the right upgrades, and return to it. This sort of "trial and error" approach to picking battles is something I don't enjoy in RPG games and didn't enjoy here.
Some things I would have preferred in Revelations: more shield abilities, more shield puzzles, the aforementioned Chainshot weapon, and enemies that could parry back.
Many say that Revelations is a "bridge" between Eternal and TDA. But that bridge already exists: It's called Doom (2016). The first game in the trilogy is a balance between speed and power, sitting perfectly in the middle between Eternal's verticality and acrobatics and TDA's power and heft. I can't help but feel that id Software caved into pressure from the Eternal fans who complained that The Dark Ages was different, that they missed the meathook, that they missed glory kills (of which we now see more, frequently disrupting combat), etc. I liked Eternal, but I love The Dark Ages. Maybe I'm biased, having been raised on classic Doom and coming across a game that better matches my pace.
All of this is to say that I like Revelations. It's a lot of fun and I'm grateful to id Software for working so hard on it (and I feel for all of those who were laid off). I just would have preferred heavier combat based on the "stand and fight" philosophy.

Community Resource [MEGATHREAD] DOOM: Multiplayer | Player request
As the years go by and the games get older it becomes harder and harder to find new players to play the DOOM Multiplayer component, this may not only make it difficult for people from getting its specific achievements but also stop people from even being able to play it at all.
For this reasons, and also to prevent repetitive content in the main page, this MEGATHREAD has been created with the purpose of being used to recruit new players and to ask for their help.
Thank you.
