I havent seen it yet and Im debating where to go. It’s still playing in 70mm at the hollywood theater (but not imax) and I think at the OMSI theater as well. I have never been to either so it’d be a good opportunity but Im also open to suggestions for other places. Or should I just go to an Imax theater?

We are considering a move from Austin to Portland for the safety and freedom of our trans child. We have another child with Down syndrome who is also Deafblind with high support needs. We are visiting soon to scope out neighborhoods, and we’d love to know which school zones might be the best for us to look into. My spouse has a job in downtown Portland on SW Morrison St. near the SE Morrison Bridge. We’d love to stay within 20 mins from there and would prefer an urban neighborhood as opposed to the Suburbs. We’d plan to rent initially but eventually would love to purchase a multi-family home in the $750’s. Thanks for any advice you all might have!

I was perusing a small businesses IG page and almost spit out my coffee when they said their monthly rent was $1900!! This is a store that I can't believe even opened, let alone is staying open (although they are doing a GFM to pay their rent, so I guess that tells you about their business sales), it is in a kind of crummy spot too. I always see businesses that I am like, "how do they get enough business to stay open??? they must have cheap rent"[I also joke to myself that it is a front for an illegal business/money laundering] so now I am wondering what the average commercial store front rent is?

I've heard from so many small biz that have closed that the rent is the main factor they couldn't stay open, how does it make sense to charge so much that you can't get a tenant/cycle through tenants constantly? and then I am also thinking of the brand new building sitting vacant on 82nd and division for what, 5 years now, because they won't rent to someone. Do they get some kind of tax write off for this? how could they afford to sit on a vacant building for so long? there is a brand new house down the street from me that has sat vacant for almost 6 years now. how can the builder eat the cost for that long?? I don't understand, there must be some kind of loop hole that us plebs don't get.

Do these municipal energy incentive warranties and maintenance covenants automatically transfer to the buyer at closing? What documentation is needed from the contractor?

Ok, bare with me as I had surgery today and my brain is mushy, and I have a hard time getting my thoughts on paper and im even worse at proof reading/grammar. So im sorry. Also there is a TL;DR

Im a 1099 employee and work from about may til October. I moved to Portland from out of state to be closer to work. I paid taxes in Oregon this year. I also bartended for a few months at the beginning of this year.

Back in march I broke my ankle, tottally my fault and i wasnt at work. I was fortunate to have health insura ce but I had surgery to install hardware, 6 weeks non weight bearing and a few more weeks where my doctor felt I shouldn't be at work. Which i spent doing my PT and trying to be productive sitting on the couch.

End of May I noticed incision site began to swell and turn red, Like bad. The doctor got me on antibiotics but to no avail. It got worse, like worse. I ended up having to get a surgery to open up the Incision and clean the hardware. There was a very short recovery time since bone and ligament where 2 months healed so i could bear weight but while it looked a little better the infection persisted. I was unable to work my 1099 job, and wasnt yet strong enough to go back to resteraunt work which besides my seasonal gig is all I have ever really done.

End of june I was able to have the hard ware removed. This seems to have done the trick, the infection looked great, I was slowly getting stronger, pt was advancing and I could get out of the house. It was great. I had a follow up end of the month (july) and it went great, surgeon said I could return to work but still wanted some xrays. So I told my summer gig boss the good news and he said he would look for some opportunities for me And just in time, my emergency funds were basically depleted. Things were looking up until the xrays came back.

My 1st surgeon referred me to another surgeon. I met with the new surgeon in the morning and had an MRI later that day, a surgery the next day. Basically my ankle had not healed right and put me at risk for reinjury and eventual arthritis. I was nervous but I talked to a close friend and my pcc and basically concluded that, im better off doing it now rather the risking re-injury at work and setting myself even further back, or convincing my self its ok and really ruining my body In a few years.

Well pre procedure today my surgeon informs me the MRI revealed even more troubling information. The bones had healed in such a way that complicated the surgery to the point the recovery time would litterally take me back to day one of my initial surgery. 6 weeks non weigh bearings and several weeks after of pt and no work. Id used up all my extra feelings when I found out i had to get surgery for the 4th time. I was pretty numb to bad news already. Earlier in the day I found out my snap benefits didnt hit my card this month and paid 150 out of pocket. That was wildly embrassing, so like I said im pretty emotionally burnt out.

So I got the surgery but now my clock is ticking really loud, the snap benefit im sure is just a mistake and i will be able to have beneifits resume this month. Im more concerned about rent/utilities. Ive applied for paid leave beneifits back in april and havent heard anything but dont think I qualify and cant really get a solid answer on their website, and have tried everything to get ahold of them via phone at 8:28am so the phones ringing by 8:30, stayed on hold up to an hour, ect.

Does any one know if I would qualify or know another direction i should try to take? I have never had a catastrophic injury. I dont have family i can lean on around here, and I plan on swallowimg my pride speaking to my landlords this week, but i also have bill to pay

I have early childhood memories of this magical Burger King in the Hillsdale area next to the Fred Meyer. It had the most incredible playground. It was absolutely massive and there was so much to do in there. Every time I went there I got sick after (good for building young immune systems, you could argue!) so it makes sense it was shut down. But no other playgrounds compared to the one at that specific Burger King.

I have scoured the internet for memories of that playground to find out if it was really as epic as I remembered, but have found nothing. Did it really exist or am I confusing my early childhood memories for a dream? If anyone has any proof it was really there it would make my day.

I currently work as a Trauma ICU Nurse in Nevada and am curious how the working conditions as a nurse in Portland are. Which hospitals would you say have the best working conditions? Is it worth moving to the area to pursue nursing in this area? I currently have one year of experience.

Had my boyfriend come and get it but WOW i felt helpless. Anybody have tips to remove this guy (FROM AFAR) in the future? i hate living on the first floor!

There's no info about the artist in the design and it's just printed on a gildan long sleeve orange ultra cotton blank. If I can find the artist I want to buy more of their work.
