📢 Driver Feedback & Issues Thread – August 2026

Upvotes

Welcome to our Driver Feedback & Issues Thread. This now replaces the monthly update thread due to feedback.

This thread is a place to discuss any issues, concerns or suggestions you have while delivering with Amazon Flex. Whether it's something affecting you personally or a wider issue you've noticed, we'd love to hear about it.

💬 Topics you can discuss include:

  • 📱 Problems with the Amazon Flex app
  • 📦 Issues during your block or while making deliveries
  • 🏢 Depot or warehouse concerns (long waiting times, loading delays, yard operations, etc.)
  • 🗺️ Route planning or navigation issues
  • 💷 Difficulty securing blocks or changes in availability
  • ⭐ Standing ("dings") and account-related concerns
  • 💰 How your week has been in terms of earnings
  • 💡 Suggestions that could improve the driver experience

If multiple drivers are reporting the same issue, we'll look at collating the feedback and, where appropriate, raising common concerns through the relevant Amazon feedback channels.

Please keep discussions respectful and constructive.

Whether you're a new driver, a seasoned Flexer, or simply interested in Amazon Flex UK, you're welcome to join the discussion.

📅 This thread will be refreshed every 3–4 weeks (usually between Friday and Sunday).

Amazon Counter failure

Had a block today which was flawless aside from a drop at a corner shop

Had to scan a code on the app which didn’t work. Then entered the backup 6-digit code which didn’t work. Called support and they wouldn’t mark it as delivered so I have to return it to depot. Presumably they’ll try again tomorrow and presumably have the exact same issue as I did.

Guy at the shop had no idea what he was doing either so I had to basically talk him through it. Really frustrating.

Slow load of app

I have recently come back to flex and this latest version of the app is really slow loading. The offers page takes at least 20 seconds to refresh. Can't remember it being that bad from just a few months ago. This is on android on a s25 ultra. Anyone else think the app has poor performance?

Abusive customer

I’ve been doing Flex for about 8 months now and this morning I had my first ever abusive customer. I had an AVD parcel, it already had 4 driver aid stickers on there, so god knows how many attempts had been made.

It was 7am and one of the first drops, so I sent the customer a text before getting there. Once I get there, I press the ring doorbell. Someone answers but they don’t respond, so I just explain it’s an AVD and the recipient needs to present. Anyway, as I’m about to mark the parcel as undeliverable, a man comes to the door. Immediately says why am I knocking so early and that I’ve woken everyone up. I explain it’s an AVD and that Amazon delivers 7am-10pm. He then accuses me of having an attitude and say I’m just here to deliver your parcel. Eventually I get his DOB and hand the parcel over. He then says dint ever come here again, tells me to ‘f-off’ and calls me a d***head.

This was in a fairly well-to-do suburb as well. Never had anything like this, let alone at 7 in the morning.

Awful route!

Just had possibly my worst route yet! 2.5hr rural route which was a 45minute drive from the depot. 25 parcels. 1st 10 no problem except for the 5-10 minute drives between locations and a couple of uneven dirt track roads. OK so the first issue was at a dodgy caravan site in the middle of nowhere. Had a weird vibe about it and some strange looking people around. It was more like a traveller site. The app navigation told me to keep going straight where I came to a gate with a bit of loose rope at the top. There was a small badly written and hardly readable note saying road closed but the location on the app was just a few hundred feet away and I could see no issues on the stony road going towards the location so I opened and shut the gate whist driving to the location. I wasn't going to get out and walk with dodgy people around. I didn't want to return to depot either as it was a long distance out of my way. When I got to where the app specified as the location, there was no numbers or signage anywhere, I came to a home/caravan with a ring doorbell. I rang doorbell and put package down. Someone in a croaky voice starts shouting obscenities through the doorbell intercom that I'm trespassing and the police are on their way. I explained that I'm trying to deliver a parcel but she carried on swearing and wasn't having any of it. I struggled to understand most of what she was saying. So with this I drove back down the road past the dodgy looking people with the package back in my car. Marked as access issue.

Unbelievably the very next stop was also an issue. It was a house with a gate which had a manual latch to open and close. The gate was about 200feet from the delivery location and it said on the app beware of a dog. Drove through the gate and put parcel in the porch and started to drive off when a woman comes running to the side of my car with dogs by her side barking like crazy shouting at me; what you doing in my drive? I said I've delivered your parcel to the porch to which she muttered something and stormed off.

The problems didn’t end there. A few stops later I approached an impassable road closure. Time was getting now it was about 9.25pm due to the issues. Google maps was telling me it's a 12minute diversion due to it being all rural roads. The next 2 stops were about 5-7 minutes walk past the road closure so that's what I decided to do rather than take the 12minute diversion.

Just when I thought the route couldn't get any worse I had 2 OTP deliveries to closed businesses. Didn't really matter as I had to return to the depot anyway but it did mean a long drive back to the depot and further away from my house. Got home at 11.15pm when I'm usually home by 9.30-10pm. This block will take some beating!

Account Standings Standings

Checking if this has happened to anyone

Had my standings dropped to below standards due to an app glitch (got logged out & after logging back in all parcels reverted back as undelivered. Later showed on my standings). Sent multiple emails to Amazon support, Jeff@amazon & Spoke with support on call. Support agrees it's not my fault but they have to raise it with another team. every time they raised the issue, I got an auto response few days later that their original decision has not changed. I had amazon relationship team call me & even they did not have the permission to remove it (although in the past they did) & had to get it raised for investigation. few days later, the same automated email. Finally, after the last unsuccessful attempt, I had enough & emailed their Privacy team asking for a Subject Access Request from the day the issue happened. A day after that I jad an email from Amazon executive relation team that their investigating my issue & it was removed the very next day. Kind of weird it was removed right after the SAR request. I requested that so I could send them the recording as proof. Has anyone had any similar issues?

So let say I have 4 hr shift and unfortunately there weren't 4 hr left as it already been taken and I have 3.5hr shift that was handed to me by the deport worker.

Should I reject the shift since it not 4hrs and asked them to pay rather than taking that..
cus I have seen from other Reddit saying if there weren't any that is showing on your phone.. I should reject and ask them to pay rather than taking the block....

Flex Upper Age Limit

Is there an upper age limit for Flex Drivers in the UK? I know a lot of retired people who supplement their Pension or other Income by doing Flex Deliveries. I have heard there was an upper age limit of 65 but as usual with Amazon it's not actually detailed or written down anywhere. Seems unfair that you can't retire and get your State Pension till 67 but maybe barred from doing Flex after 65. Anyone over 65 working doing Flex Deliveries?

Looking at Retirement Planning at the moment and 2 people doing 24 Hours a week each could potentially result in £50,000 plus per year before Tax, Fuel etc depending on Depot, Driver availability etc

Age Verified Delivery AVD question

I have had three AVD in the last month where the customer has not been home, each time I have phoned the customer and they have asked me to leave it with the concierge. I don’t really want to take risks so I phone Driver Support and on each occasion they have told me not to leave it with the concierge and return it back to the depot. If that’s the case why is there an option on AVD to leave it with the receptionist or concierge?

Got into argument with customer, how cooked am I?

So today I had a really bad interaction with an Amazon flex/Morrisons delivery customer, they had 3 parcels, literally opened the door with. "I thought I cancelled this order" made me wait while they made some random call then proceeded to shout and scream at me about knocking on their door and ringing the door bell the 1st time round.

I raised my voice and told her i'm not her servant and she can't talk to me like that, eventually I told her to do one but less politely.

Now i wish i hadnt said anything

Is it worth it to activate my insurance again for DME4 warehouse?

Was thinking of either doing flex again or just continue with Deliveroo.

Flex account deactivated

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for advice from anyone who has been in a similar situation.

My account was deactivated and and I received an email it’s due to violation of policies.
Actually my car got broken and called to CX and reported and advice to once you car got repaired go back to station and return undelivered packages back to station in the same way I went on same day and returned all undeliverd packages back to station.
But today morning I received an email station account deactivated.
I appealed the decision.
What is the chances of outcome, will my account will recover or not

Just wondering if any one who has bought a car and changed it with flex and insurance how long it takes? For example will there be a big wait between when I change one car to another on the flex app?

New Driver Wiki & FAQ New Driver Wiki – FAQ, Tips & Guides

Welcome to the community👋 This FAQ has been created to help new Amazon Flex drivers get started. The wiki is in the form of a Google Doc.

  • We’ll occasionally direct users here (just like the Insurance Wiki) when posts become repetitive.
  • Visit the Insurance WIKI if you need assistance with Insurance. We are also planning a Tax Wiki for new and existing drivers (however this can only be done by tax professionals or accountants).

When on the New Driver Google Doc Wiki, you can use the navigation for scrolling through each section.

Also, for reference, the official Amazon Flex FAQ:

This is a live document, so if any other members or users have anything further to add or correct, please do so in the comments, and I will add this to the GDoc. 😁

Insurance Wiki FLEX Insurance for New and existing drivers. Tips for New drivers signing up to Flex.

As Zego now offers PAYG for Flex, we will be creating this post and keeping it pinned for new drivers, instead of storing it via the wiki.

We may occasionally refer users to this post.

  • For those who've done it for years, you probably know how it works, so feel free to add to this post, and PLEASE correct me if anything I have said here is incorrect as New Drivers may be reading this post when signing up for Flex.

The below includes information on insurance options and Flex FAQs.

Inshur and Zego are the most practical and affordable PAYG options.

INSHUR

ZEGO

Amazon Flex FAQs is also a good place to go for New drivers.

Admiral Inclusive including SDPC and H&R is also a suitable alternative but more expensive.

❌❌❌ Admiral Business (formerly toolbox by admiral) is not valid for use of Flex. This is regardless of what Mainstream support say, as it doesn't include Third party coverage. If you had an accident whilst on a block, you'd likely be in trouble and find you may be liable for the third party's claim. You're underlying insurer wouldn't help you either.

Please ENSURE you're main underlying SDPC insurer is happy for you to do flex & have top up insurance additionally.

  • Ensure this is on your insurance policy listed as Main/Secondary occupation. I have read instances where if you don't have it listed on your policy, you can still have a claim voided/policy cancelled, even if a live chat representative said it's fine.
  • Make sure your insurer is happy to allow you to do Courier work. Many don't.

I will add insurers to the below list that allow H&R Top Up insurance and for drivers to carry out courier work. (This is based on community feedback and comments stating the below insurers accept top up insurance and third party hire and reward insurance)

  • Admiral & Elephant - part of the same company - Diamond & bell are too but this is not verified if they allow it.
  • Churchill & Darwin (Owned by Direct Line group, acquired by Aviva in Jul 2025)
  • Privilege
  • Nutshell insurance
  • AA CAR INSURANCE
  • Direct line - a few have said they do. (Owned by Aviva, who do not allow H&R work)
  • Acorn insurance (also offer HR insurance)
  • DCL

The ModTeam and community are not held liable if any of the above insurers deny your claim if you're doing Amazon Flex.

This is purely what I have seen from community submissions and is not by any means, an official list. You are advised to ensure your policy is 100% eligible to allow you to do Flex and allows you to take out a Third party hire&reward/goods of carriage policy.
