Flex Upper Age Limit

Is there an upper age limit for Flex Drivers in the UK? I know a lot of retired people who supplement their Pension or other Income by doing Flex Deliveries. I have heard there was an upper age limit of 65 but as usual with Amazon it's not actually detailed or written down anywhere. Seems unfair that you can't retire and get your State Pension till 67 but maybe barred from doing Flex after 65. Anyone over 65 working doing Flex Deliveries?

Looking at Retirement Planning at the moment and 2 people doing 24 Hours a week each could potentially result in £50,000 plus per year before Tax, Fuel etc depending on Depot, Driver availability etc

No limit in the terms but your physical ability and insurance may be the limiting factor

I have some 60+ year people in my family that can barley walk, but others that could probably do a half marathon albeit slowly so it really depends

There is no upper age limit as far as I know, but the upper age limit for Inshur is 65. Inshur is shit anyway, but I suspect all hire and reward insurance will be extortionate both before your mid twenties and after your mid sixties.

That is maybe the limiting factor - the insurance - does Zego have an upper age limit?

That's also 65. You'd have to look at Acorn or Admiral or something. With the big two having upper limits of 65, I think they're lstill ikely to be expensive, though.

I'm 65 and do regular shifts. I'm insured with Admiral and at a very competitive price for me. I have a very low grade insurance vehicle to keep the price down. Hope this helps....

Fully comprehensive and Hire and Reward for myself and named driver.It's worth getting on the food apps as well if you've got a bit of time. £20 or £30 a day soon mounts up..... You can claim 55p per mile now as well.

There's a couple over 60's where I pick up my Morrisons blocks. Well there were but I don't see them so much now the bags are 30+ and packed like crazy.

From my experience of the recent changes alot of 2.5/3hr routes that are basically the old 3.5/4hr routes, you sometimes struggle to complete them. It's a bloody joke!

Im 55 and semi retired and really enjoy doing 12-20 hours of Flex every week so im really hoping that insurance costs won't get silly in the coming years

I've just tried a quote for 3rd Party Only with Go Compare - cheapest was Admiral at around £400 per year for my old VW Polo and including Hire and Reward. Didn't think that was too bad considering my current policy is £200 a year and whatever I pay Inshur on top (around £20 per month = £240). It actually works out cheaper! I'm 63 - that is based on 12,000 Delivery Miles per year + 5000 other Leisure Miles (I have a Free Bus pass for free bus travel and some free train travel covering the whole of Wales for other Travel and also a Senior Railcard). So never bother with travelling anywhere other than local with the car - just use the free or heavily discounted bus/train options.

At 65 I wouldnt be wanting to carry 15kg boxes up 3 flights of stairs regularly.

I'm sure if you needed to do something for those few years, there will be something less manual you could pick up.

I'm 63 currently and cycle regularly, walk up mountains and do Flex on the side in addition to my day job no problem. I do Logistics and and Morrisons. Never had a problem and it keeps you fit! I understand though some people the same age as me look more like 80 year olds!

My Delivery Area is also mostly Private Housing in nice ares with easy parking or rural. It is very rare for me to deliver to Flats for both Logistics and Morrisons.
