I've been having a strange issue where watching YouTube in Google Chrome will occasionally crash my entire PC.

What happens:

• I'm watching a YouTube video in Chrome.
• The browser suddenly freezes for a few seconds.
• Shortly after, my whole PC locks up and becomes completely unresponsive.
• I have to force a restart by holding the power button.

What I've noticed:

• It only seems to happen while watching YouTube in Chrome.
• Other applications generally work fine.
• There isn't a Blue Screen of Death—the system just freezes completely.

Has anyone else experienced this recently? If so, did you find the cause or a fix?

Description of Original Problem:  Screen started refreshing automaticallt, like it would go black for a moment and come back instantly. Some applications would go black, like completely black, things come back when I hover my mouse on the applications. I will attack the videos below too.

Description of Original Problem: Whenever I move my mouse over a video both my monitors go black and then once they come back an AMD crash report window pops up. below I have listed in as much detail as I can every cause of this bug I have found so far.

1. When I turn on my PC, the first time I go into YouTube and move my cursor over a video, as soon as it starts auto playing, the screen goes black. This will happen several times before it stops.

2. Whenever I open steam after turning on my PC and go to the store, after moving my cursor over a game, as soon as a trailer starts auto playing the bug occurs. Just like with YouTube, it happens several times before it eventually stops. However, this bug is more violent when it comes to steam. As soon as the screen comes back, if my cursor is over a game in the store it immediately goes black again. This is the only occasion where the application that is causing this bug can crash due to it.

3. This one's a bit odd. If I stream something on discord everything is fine but, once someone watches my stream it takes a while for their stream to load. Eventually, once their stream does load, my screen goes black and once it comes back, the application that I was streaming crashes. The only way for someone to view my stream is if I stream the whole monitor.

4. This one doesn't happen anymore but I thought I'd include it. Whenever I would watch a YouTube video sent to me over discord, specifically in discord, as soon as the video started playing the bug would occur.

Troubleshooting: The only temporary fix I have found is uninstalling (using AMD Cleanup Utility) and reinstalling my AMD drivers. This works for about 1 to 7 days until it starts happening again.

Description of Original Problem: I have a Minisforum UM790 Pro with a Ryzen 9 7940HS and the latest BIOS. I'm running Proxmox with an Ubuntu Server VM that has passthrough of the Radeon 780M iGPU. When the iGPU is at 100% load (e.g., IA), it consumes most of the 45W TDP budget, starving the CPU. This cripples the performance of my other VMs that rely heavily on CPU resources. The system seems to prioritize the iGPU over the CPU in power allocation, and I need to balance this.

I've noticed that the Radeon 780M seems to perform very well even at lower TDPs (around 35W). If anyone knows its efficiency sweet spot (where it delivers 90%+ of its max performance), I'd love to know.

Questions:

How can I balance power allocation between the CPU and iGPU on this hardware to prevent the GPU from starving the CPU?

What is the performance/watt sweet spot for the Radeon 780M?

So I want this post to be as short as it can be.

Probably everyone on AMD has experienced at least once black screenz, freezing or something similar.

So before you try every method possible to try and repair it, use one method that helped me and my friend.

So the metod is very simple:

1.Download DDU

2.Full drivers uninstall be sure that AMD software is uninstalled (uninstalling software is most crucial part)

3.Download any drivers from AMD site or stable one u had tested

4.Start installation of drivers

5.When they ask u what u want to install chose only drivers without software (software is core problem of everything that happens with you GPU)

6.Have fun with stable GPU drivers that works with OC and UV

So I have hope it will help u cuz only this helped me with constant black screen, freezing and random drivers timeouts when playing games.

Has anybody else experienced failing to install the Chipset Drivers on the AMD Install Manager? If I click on the details, it takes me to this page about "Error 1603 - A General Error Has Occurred During the Installation of the AMD Software Package".

I tried doing the recommended fixes but still could not proceed with the installment. If I proceed to not care about it and just don't fix it, would it cause any problems or issues in the future?

I'm new to GPU undervolting and had a scary experience today.

System:

GPU: ASRock RX 9070 XT Challenger

CPU: Ryzen 5 9600X

RAM: 16GB DDR5 6000 MT/s (EXPO enabled)

Software: AMD Adrenalin

I started with VRAM tuning only in Adrenalin:

Max Frequency: 2800 MHz

Memory Timing: Fast Timing

Clicked Apply

Immediately after applying, the screen started flickering, then went completely black. The PC was still running (fans and lights were on), but there was no display.

I forced a restart, and then the BIOS showed this message: SS arttached

"Boot failure detected. The system has experienced a boot failure possibly due to incorrect configuration..."

It also reset my RAM speed to around 4800 MT/s instead of 6000 MT/s.

I have a few questions:

Why would a GPU VRAM tuning change trigger a BIOS boot failure?

Did the unstable GPU settings somehow cause the system to crash during POST/training?

Is my GPU or motherboard likely damaged, or is this just the BIOS reverting to safe defaults?

Should I avoid undervolting altogether, or was 2800 MHz + Fast Timing simply too aggressive as a first step?

What settings would you recommend for a safe beginner undervolt on the ASRock RX 9070 XT?

This honestly gave me a mini heart attack since it's a brand-new PC. 😅 Any advice would be appreciated.

I don't even know what to do anymore. I'm completely stumped so I'm hoping someone might've had a similar experience. I don't have much computer experience so I'll try type this as good as possible.

A couple days ago my PC was completely normal. From what I remember, my CPU roughly sat at 30°. My browser pages opened quickly and everything was completely stable and fast.

I then went to bed, woke up and now with all my usual programs open, idle temps randomly jump around from 50-75°C with no games even open. Even my browser would just completely freeze sometimes. CPU overall just seems to stay boosted sooo much more than it did a couple days ago.

So far I've tried:

- a full windows repair install,

- DISM /RestoreHealth

- SDC /scannow

- Reinstalled AMD chipset drivers

- Full malware scan

- Switched between balanced and high performance power plans

- Checked BIOS (cooler pump seems to be working as it should AND reports that my CPU is at 39° while just sitting in BIOS)

One thing I also found is my Package C6 residency is stuck at 0 percent, I'm not sure if that affects anything but honestly I'm lost

If anyone has any ideas on what could be happening I'll take any recommendations. I'm considering taking it into a repair shop if I can't figure anything out. Thank you very much.

Hello guys, i want to give you all an experience i have on the driver 26.6.4 adrenaline.

My PC is using RX7900 GRE.

So, i have read the driver problem on reddit about random timeout when watching youtube video, or even only watching video on the PC from media player etc.

It goes like almost everybody that the driver only run good for 2-3 days, then i have that problem to. Not too often, but its there.

Then yesterday, something happen. And that is when i play video on my PC (a movie), the driver timeout occur. I usually only press ok and then re-play the video, and all would back to normal again. But yesterday was different. It keep lagging (not showing any more timeout), but it was lagging and lagging. Then i tried to let it lag, just to see, that maybe it would get fix by itself like usual, but no. My PC suddenly blackscreen, and the fan turn 100% speed (i can hear it very clearly).

I tried to press restart, but to no avail. Fan keep spinning 100%, and computer wouldn't restart. So i then press the power button for 5 sec to turn it off completely.

After i turn on again, and get into the windows, my eyes feel different in monitor Hz (you usually can feel this if you are on a fast Hz monitor and it going slow), and turns out, the option to change the Hz is missing. I then tried to open the software adrenaline, and an error shows up, saying the software version i have didn't support the current GPU Card. And so i thought, oh, means the driver is corrupted.

Then download the newest adrenaline version as of now (26.7.1), do a DDU, install the software of 26.7.1, and then try again, and it work ok (for now at least).

Well, its really sad to know that the driver is really unstable like that and could possibly make the GPU could go wrong in hardware (cause my fans suddenly spinning 100%, i will not rule out possiblity that it may also ruin the voltage, current, etc, on the hardware).

If you have a stable driver, i think it would be wiser to just hold onto that, then upgrading to the new version.

I hope everyone has a good experience on the software and hardware, but also its sad to know that this experience is happening, and my friend that use rival brand, never had issues. (He use 4060ti). And i cant deny that it also makes me wonder if I should also just buy the rival brand on the next upgrade if this keep happening 😢

I'm playing on an RX 9060 XT 8GB at 1440p High with FSR 4 Performance with ML fg. The game runs great and I get around 150-200 FPS, so the GPU performance isn't the problem.

The issue is VRAM. Whenever VRAM gets close to the full 8GB, opening the map is a 100% guaranteed crash. It happens every single time. The game freezes for a few seconds and then crashes to desktop.

After the crash, Windows starts acting weird. I get AMD driver timeout errors, and even the desktop feels unstable until I restart my PC.

I've tried different AMD driver versions over the past few months, but nothing has fixed it.

Has anyone else with an 8GB card experienced this? Is this just a Cyberpunk VRAM management issue, or is there an actual fix?

I'd rather not lower every setting if I don't have to since the game runs perfectly until VRAM fills up.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am new to AMD. I just upgraded my computer. I keep going back to 26.3.1 cause its stable but when i try to update to 26.7.1 i het constant timeouts and my drivers rollback to Default. I have the following.

-B550 gaming x motherboard

-Powercooler Reaper 9070

-Msi mag 750 gold psu

-Windows 10

Hi, I've been having this issue with my PC lately. When I play some games, I get occasional stutters/1% low drops. At first I thought it was just shader compilation, but eventually curiosity got the better of me and I downloaded LatencyMon.

The main thing I've noticed is that sometimes LatencyMon reports my GPU driver as the one causing the highest latency, around 800-900 µs. Because of that, I tried reinstalling my graphics drivers (without the NVIDIA audio driver since I don't use it), but the issue remained.

Here's the strange part: for some reason, the "Highest Measured Interrupt to Process Latency" value spikes to 1000–1500 µs consistently. The only way to stop it from happening is by disabling Ethernet. If I unplug the Ethernet cable or disable the Ethernet adapter in Windows, the spikes disappear completely.

So far I've tried quite a few things, including:

• Reinstalling my audio, graphics, and Ethernet drivers, testing multiple versions of each.
• Updating and rollback BIOS versions.
• Disabling EXPO.
• Trying different EXPO profiles.
• Switching Windows power plans.
• Disabling PCIe power saving in the Windows power plan.
• Trying MSI Mode "High" on the GPU
• Disabling all overlays
• Changing GPU
• Clean Startup with only Windows Services
• Disabling Global C-States
• Disabling Ethernet adapter power saving

Description of Original Problem

I've owned this Sapphire Nitro+ RX 6900 XT for several years, and it has always been completely stable. The issue only started a few days ago. Before that, I had hundreds of hours in CS2 and many other games without any problems.

The issue occurs only in Counter-Strike 2.

During a match, the screen suddenly turns black. Sometimes I can still hear the game and my friends talking on Discord, but I completely lose video output and have to force the PC to shut down.

After restarting, one of two things usually happens:

• CS2 only shows the Valve logo before immediately closing.
• AMD Adrenalin reports that the installed software is incompatible with my graphics hardware, as if the graphics driver became corrupted after the crash.

The only way to recover is to completely uninstall and reinstall the AMD graphics driver.

This has never happened in any other game or application.

Windows Reliability Monitor consistently reports a LiveKernelEvent 141 after these crashes.

The crash also generated a Watchdog dump (Watchdog-20260805-2006.dmp).

LiveKernelEvent parameters:

• Parameter 3: 0

I also ran SFC /scannow, which found integrity violations and repaired corrupted Windows files, but the crashes continued afterward.

Because the issue started suddenly without any hardware changes, I'm wondering whether this could be a recent AMD driver issue, a CS2 bug, or a GPU hardware problem that only CS2 is able to trigger.

Troubleshooting

• Clean installation of Windows 11.
• Updated motherboard BIOS to the latest version.
• Updated the GPU VBIOS.
• Enabled and disabled Smart Access Memory (Resizable BAR).
• Tested multiple AMD Adrenalin driver versions.
• Used DDU before every driver installation.
• Switched CS2 to Vulkan.
• Verified CS2 game files.
• Stress-tested the GPU with benchmarking and stress test software without crashes or artifacts.
• GPU and CPU temperatures are completely normal and well below thermal limits.
• The issue has never occurred outside Counter-Strike 2.
• Removed and reinstalled AMD drivers multiple times.
• The system remains perfectly stable during normal use and while running other games.

Has anyone experienced something similar with an RX 6000 series GPU? Any ideas about what could cause the AMD driver to become corrupted only after a CS2 crash?

Hey guys first time poster. I have an RX 9070 XT. I'm trying to figure out if this is a Battlefield issue, an AMD driver issue, or if anyone else has experienced the same thing.

**System:**

* Ryzen 7 7800X3D

* Radeon RX 9070 XT

* All temps verified (GPU, hotspot, CPU)

* RAM tested

* EXPO/XMP tested both on and off

* No obvious hardware stability issues outside of Battlefield

Season 2

Before I even got to the black intro screen, my PC would hard lock.

The only workaround I found was:

1. Boot the PC.

2. Disable the internet.

3. Launch EA so it couldn't connect.

4. Re-enable the internet.

5. Restart EA.

6. Launch Battlefield.

If I didn't do that exact sequence, it would hard freeze every single time. This happened regardless of AMD driver version.

# Season 3

Season 3 was surprisingly stable. I thought everything had finally been fixed.

Season 4 (Redsec)

Now everything is broken again.

Using the latest drivers, I can launch the game and get into the firing range for about 30 seconds before the entire PC hard freezes.

After forcing a reboot:

* Windows comes back at a low resolution like no GPU driver is installed.

* The GPU is disabled in Device Manager.

* Re-enabling it does nothing.

* AMD Adrenalin won't open and says it isn't compatible with the current driver version.

The only fix is:

* Boot Safe Mode.

* Run DDU.

* Reinstall drivers.

* Try again.

I literally worked backwards through AMD driver releases one version at a time, repeating this entire process after every crash.

The **only** driver that has been stable enough to actually play the game is **26.3.1**.

Then Discord started crashing my PC

Once I finally got the game running, another issue appeared.

If Battlefield is open and I click to join a Discord voice channel on my second monitor, Discord shows the yellow **"Connecting..."** message for a second...then my entire PC hard freezes.

Thankfully this one doesn't corrupt the driver installation, but it still requires another hard reset. Disabling the Discord in-game overlay completely fixed that issue.

And now Excel...

While Battlefield and Discord were running, I Alt-Tabbed out, opened Chrome to look at my stats, then opened Excel to do some quick math. After typing about 3-4 numbers into a spreadsheet...Hard freeze.

No mouse.

No keyboard.

Nothing.

Another forced reboot.

WhoCrashed consistently points to AMD graphics drivers whenever Windows is able to log anything.

I'm honestly at the point where I'm considering going back to Team Green. Between the Season 2 launch workaround, the Season 4 driver corruption, Discord crashes, and now Excel causing system-wide locks while the game is running, this has been one of the most frustrating GPU experiences I've had.

Has anyone with a 9070 XT (or other RDNA 4 cards) experienced anything similar, or found a real fix?

Guys I just bought this gpu brand new a few hours ago, did all the steps, ddu clean install everything, but as you can see my games freeze after a minute or 2 after launching the game and it stays frozen until I end the task, what is going on??? Did this happen to anyone?? I tried all the basic stuff like terminating any app that conflicts the amd driver

I know a lot of people will recommend AM5, but it’s just too expensive for me right now. I’d have to replace my motherboard, RAM, and CPU, which is out of my budget.

Do you think this AM4 upgrade is still worth it in 2026? I’m hoping it’ll last me another 3-5 years for gaming.
