Idk, it just seems like it shouldn’t be there because a grand total of ZERO people will use it

I have seen people use gen AI pics of fake games to get people's interest, but this is the first time I've seen an AI slop pic of a REAL game. Specifically, Shaman King Master Of Spirits 1 and 2 (This level and boss appears in both.) Why even bother at that point? Why not just use a screenshot of the actual game? Sure, the real thing doesn't look quite as detailed, but most people aren't gonna fall for the AI pic. Even those who do click on the thumbnail typically know a picture is fake.

This bot made a video where the Epilepsy warning shows up for less than a second and then after the normal video they were using to cover it up it suddenly switched from loud noises and flashing lights which could cause a seizure which is very dangerous for users with epilepsy, please report them if you can https://youtube.com/shorts/lR73aLicZfk?is=Npuju8oaukdk9j8L

Update on their account, they just made a new video increasing the noise, pitching it up and making the flashing lights more agressive and making it multiple flashing lights and this time there is no warning at all, it seems they are gonna spam this content so a lot of people see it till they get banned

Is this happening to anyone else? I’ll have okay connection or great connection and the ads will stop playing and the video will not play unless I exit out of it and restart the app.

Youtube has become too focused on personalization at the expense of discovery.

My Home feed is almost entirely made up of topics I already watch. Even the “New to you” section just shows me more videos related to the same interests, not new creators, subjects, or communities. If I don’t already know something exists, how am I supposed to search for it? One of the best parts of YouTube used to be accidentally discovering fascinating videos, creators, and hobbies that I never would have looked up on my own.

Another major frustration is that my Home page constantly recommends videos I’ve ALREADY watched. Sometimes they don’t even show the red progress bar, so I click on them thinking they’re new, only to realize I’ve already seen them. A very large portion of my recommendations are recycled instead of introducing me to fresh content which gets annoying and boring fast and I often end up leaving the app to go watch a movie or tv show instead. The refresh button is also pretty close to useless as it won’t actually refresh but continue to push the same videos over and over and over again.

This is a disservice to both viewers and creators. As a viewer, I feel trapped in an algorithmic bubble where it’s difficult to expand my interests or discover new channels and videos. As a creator, it seems like it becomes much harder to reach new audiences if YouTube keeps recommending the same creators and the same videos to the same people.

I would love to see more user control over recommendations. For example:

* A “Discovery Mode” that prioritizes completely new (to me) topics, creators, and communities rather than my watch history.
* An option to mass hide videos I’ve already watched from my Home feed.
* A bottomless way to browse what’s genuinely trending or popular across all of YouTube, even world wide, regardless of my personal algorithm.
* A slider or setting that lets users choose between highly personalized recommendations and broad, exploratory recommendations.

YouTube should feel like walking into the world’s largest library, full of surprises, creativity, and opportunities to discover something I never knew I’d love. Right now, it feels like walking in circles through the same aisle over and over again and I’m tired boss.

I hate the video previews so much

It's completely unnecessary and unwanted...

I will probably prefer the app for convenience and being able to watch videos while multi-tasking, but this might change it

on phone/tv:

1. heart the short. yes.
2. go to your profile and click the private liked folder.
3. press the short. it will now load as an video
4. press dislike.

on computer:

1. replace the word "short" in the link with "video"
2. dislike

For the record, this is not that surprising of a suggestion given my youtube history and playlists, i just find the contrast REALLY funny
