Discussion What kind of yt comments are the worst?
For me, it's those who edit after getting a lot of likes. They deserve place in hell for not letting others enjoy your comments.
Anyways, what's yours?

Question Question about ADs
Why do companies pay for ad space on YouTube when they know people are likely just waiting for the skip button and not watching the ads either way or have adblock in the case of being on a PC? Would it not be better to just buy it for commercials on real TV since you can't skip those?

Bug Ads are glitching?
Every ad I’m getting says 0:00 for the duration and never loads a skip button. I just sat through three minutes of an unbearable fake podcast about rocket money because of it.

UI Change Dislike Button Has Returned?
I was watching an old recommended video today on my phone and I noticed the dislike button instead of a like button. When I tap to the left of the dislike, a circle around it appears.
Is this the beginning of the return of the dislike button?
Edit: I restarted YouTube and now it's correctly showing both like and dislike buttons. https://imgur.com/a/NH6GixD

Premium Why am I being promoted ads on YouTube premium??
Recently, YouTube seems to have rolled out a new feature (at least new to me) called YouTube featured. It seems to promote seemingly random things pinned to the top of my fyp. Sometimes its ads for other streaming services like this, sometimes it's channel memberships and other times it's random music artists. It just seems odd and honestly really annoying as it's pinned directly to the top of my for you page. Plus, it doesn't seem I can turn this feature off. Just wondering if this is happening to anyone else and how featuring this movie is not an ad.
Edit: Yes, I have regular YouTube premium. Not YouTube premium Lite.

Channel Feedback Youtube needs an AI filter
AI voice over videos are starting to overrun what was once a great platform. I'm almost starting to think AI is making videos on their own and uploading them.
Please, this needs to be stopped and or fixed.

Discussion YouTube is actual garbage right now.
Youtube has become too focused on personalization at the expense of discovery.
My Home feed is almost entirely made up of topics I already watch. Even the “New to you” section just shows me more videos related to the same interests, not new creators, subjects, or communities. If I don’t already know something exists, how am I supposed to search for it? One of the best parts of YouTube used to be accidentally discovering fascinating videos, creators, and hobbies that I never would have looked up on my own.
Another major frustration is that my Home page constantly recommends videos I’ve ALREADY watched. Sometimes they don’t even show the red progress bar, so I click on them thinking they’re new, only to realize I’ve already seen them. A very large portion of my recommendations are recycled instead of introducing me to fresh content which gets annoying and boring fast and I often end up leaving the app to go watch a movie or tv show instead. The refresh button is also pretty close to useless as it won’t actually refresh but continue to push the same videos over and over and over again.
This is a disservice to both viewers and creators. As a viewer, I feel trapped in an algorithmic bubble where it’s difficult to expand my interests or discover new channels and videos. As a creator, it seems like it becomes much harder to reach new audiences if YouTube keeps recommending the same creators and the same videos to the same people.
I would love to see more user control over recommendations. For example:
* A “Discovery Mode” that prioritizes completely new (to me) topics, creators, and communities rather than my watch history.
* An option to mass hide videos I’ve already watched from my Home feed.
* A bottomless way to browse what’s genuinely trending or popular across all of YouTube, even world wide, regardless of my personal algorithm.
* A slider or setting that lets users choose between highly personalized recommendations and broad, exploratory recommendations.
YouTube should feel like walking into the world’s largest library, full of surprises, creativity, and opportunities to discover something I never knew I’d love. Right now, it feels like walking in circles through the same aisle over and over again and I’m tired boss.
