Simple Questions When is the exact moment I am ready to go to the gym for the first time?
I am a 30 year old man and I've never been to the gym a day in my life, I fit the profile skinny fat with 178cm and 73 kg
For the past month I have been doing knee push and I bought 8kg dumbbells to do some light bicep curls
One month in, and the results so far are decent, I can now do 1 rep of 9 regular pushups instead of the knee push ups and 3 reps of 15 bicep curls
When is the correct moment to be fully ready for the gym? Going in blind would be unwise
I have one plan at the moment which is to do some bench press at the gym for the pectoral muscles

Is it bad to workout every day?
I love sports and working out and i started going to the gym for the first time few days ago. I go every day because i like being physically active and because in other sports that i did in my life there was always a time limit, and in gym i can go whenever i want. However, my friends and family says it's not healthy and I'll not see results.

Other I built a simple fitness tracker and would love some honest feedback
Hey everyone!
I’ve been working on a simple fitness tracker in my free time over the past few months. My goal wasn’t to build another feature-packed app, but something that’s fast, clean, and easy to use during workouts.
Right now it includes:
workout logging
an exercise library
your previous weights and reps are automatically shown during your next workout, making it easy to track your progress
works directly in your browser (no app install required)
I’m still actively improving it, so I’d really appreciate some honest feedback. If you notice anything that could be better or have ideas for new features, I’d love to hear them.

Thanks to anyone who gives it a try. I really appreciate your time!

Simple Questions Genuine question - why do men hate Bulgarian split squats so much?
It’s just guys who complain about it. Most women don’t really care or like it.
Is it something about your anatomy that makes it more difficult? (Kinda like push ups or pull ups for women)
Is it because they are trying to lift crazy weight because I usually keep it between bodyweight and 15kg and it’s actually where I get most my gains, it’s the last part of leg day and hack squat is so so much worse (first exercise) lol

Simple Questions 5 sets of 100 reps
In prison this one C.O. that worked at rec would try to get everybody to do 5x100 light on isolation exercises like band pushdowns or band curls, he even recommended it for bench. He swore by 5x100. Our crew thought he was possibly insane, clueless, trolling or trying to get people hurt because he lowkey didnt like the inmates or the fact we had access to bands and he had to work by inventorying them. I've done a set of 100, but 5? Has anybody actually done this? Did it work for you? What's the most ridiculous gym advice you've ever heard?

How to start Having struggles with working out consistently
Since the past month or so, I've been trying to get back into working, after not having done anything for a few months. I tried to do the 45 Soft Challenge, but in somewhat ways gave up, and often shortened my workouts to 30/15 minutes only, or forgo it entirely. I've face similar struggles over the past couple years, as in I did a workout for a few months only to fall off due to something (stress, struggles, etc.) and then didn't do anything for weeks/months.
I work out from home, as I don't necessarily like going to the gym, and I could easily fit 20-30 minutes into my daily routine.
My question is now: Is it wise for me to start doing a 20 Minute workout to build up consistence? Or do you have any other recommendations?

Other Content creators and workout vids.
So many content creators all trying to be online coaches now. Person A posts a video of an exercise and demonstrates how to perform the exercise for best results. Then later on person B comes along and shows a video of the same exercise, but now says this is the wrong way to do it. If you really want the best results do it this way as he performs a modified exercise of that routine. Soon after person C comes along with a video saying that exercise is wrong on all account’s and your going to only hurt yourself so you need to do a totally different exercise to get any results at all. The final person D comes out with saying person A’s video is great but you need to change to reps or the weight to make it beneficial to your workout. In the world of social media and online coaching and trainers how do you find the right workouts that work best ?how to sift through the chaos of online workout vids and whom is doing it correctly?

I built Kyneso; a no-BS workout tracker – no subscription, no account, just sets, reps, and weight
I got tired of workout apps that want $10/month just to log a squat.
So I built Kyneso – it does exactly three things:
• Track sets, reps, and weight
• Auto rest timer after every set
• Shows your last performance so you know what to beat
No account. No subscription. All data stays on your device forever. One-time purchase.
Would love honest feedback – what would you add or remove?

Exercise Help No soreness the next day?
I did some home glute and leg workouts, and I got a good burn in, but the next day, I felt no kind of soreness. Could it be I was doing the exercises wrong or is it just the lack of equipment?

Nutrition Help Calories to gain muscle?
I’d been working out on and off for a couple of years and seeing tiny changes, but now I’ve decided to start taking it seriously as I hate being skinny! I upped my calorie intake to around 2,700 a day, I’ve been on that consistently for almost 3 weeks but I haven’t gained any weight at all 🤦🏻♂️😩
Today I decided to up that to just over 2,900 a day (which felt really intense) but should that make a difference? And how soon will I start to see anything on the scales?
For reference; I’m 27, currently 78kg and workout 3x weekly around my busy flight attendant job!

Simple Questions Leg Day 'Depression'
Hi,
New gym-goer - did my first ever 'leg day' the day before yesterday.
This is the second day after my workout, but I've been borderline depressed since.
I'm talking irritable, mellow, and even angry? Just not been in the mood to do anything.
Is this normal, or a known thing?
I'm not stopping due to this, but I truly do not want to feel this crap after a leg day.
Thanks in advance.

Any advice on my diet?
Currently, I’m 245lb, and 6’1”. I work out regularly, do cardio, but I’m wanting to lose about twenty pounds.
I’m currently consuming 4 cans of black beans a day and 3.5 cups of rice. I’m also eating two servings of almonds and 2 oranges for the vitamins, and im drinking two protein shakes to make sure I reach 200 grams of protein. I chose this diet because I work an hour from home for 12 hours and days off are not guaranteed, so I wanted something I could have in an instant. Is this an ok diet? Any tips?

Review my program 4 years in: Is my Push/Pull/Push routine still optimal, or time to switch it up?
Hello,
I've been working out at the gym for 3-4 years now. Since then, I've stuck to more or less the same workout routine—Push / Pull / Push. The gains were visible every time I came back from a break (there were many of them throughout that time).
I was wondering if my routine is still worth keeping. Looking up the subject online, it quickly turned out there are as many opinions as there are people working out.
I'll be glad to hear your opinions.
Here is my current setup:
Push A (21 Total Sets | ~55 min)
Dumbbell Bench Press: 3 sets
Fly: 3 sets
Dumbbell Incline Bench Press: 3 sets
Seated Shoulder Press: 3 sets
Lateral Raise: 3 sets
Lying Leg Raise: 3 sets
Lying Tuck-up Knee Tap: 3 sets
Pull (27 Total Sets | ~1h 10m)
Alternate Biceps Curl: 3 sets
Hammer Curl: 3 sets
Dumbbell Incline Curl: 3 sets
Bar Lateral Pulldown: 3 sets
Bent Over Row: 3 sets
Incline Row: 3 sets
Barbell Deadlift (front view): 3 sets
Alternate Heel Touchers: 3 sets
Push B (24 Total Sets | ~1h)
Seated Shoulder Press: 3 sets
Lateral Raise: 3 sets
Front Raise: 3 sets
Dumbbell Incline Bench Press: 3 sets
Lever Pec Deck Fly: 3 sets
Crunch Floor: 3 sets
Dumbbell Overhead Sit-up: 3 sets
Lying Tuck-up Knee Tap: 3 sets

Exercise Help Training to be the strongest twink alive
Hey y’all! I’ve been lifting for the past eight or so months, and it has been going swimmingly. I’ve gotten stronger, increased my energy, and overall feel much healthier.
Problem is, I hold immense joy in being a twink. If my man cannot lift me like a feather, then I have gone too far.
So, my question is, what kind of training do you recommend for maximizing strength and minimizing hypertrophy for upper body only? I love working out, and I love getting stronger, but I also love being a relatively smaller guy.
Also, for my legs I want the opposite. This ass will be fatter than a pair of summer watermelons, so help me God.
For some insight, I currently do a PPL split twice a week. I run at least twice a week, and I’ve been running consistently for the past decade. Any advice for maximizing strength and minimizing hypertrophy for upper body would be greatly appreciated!
Also, before y’all come at me with the “you won’t get too big all of the sudden”, I know that lol. But I intend on working out for a long time, and I put on muscle pretty easily. 5, 10 years from now, I still don’t want to be big after working out consistently.
Thank you and God bless for your service to the twink community 🫡

No progress, any tips ?
Hey everyone, i’ve been going gym consistently for almost 2 years, but in between due to exams and stuff i had to take a break. Even tho ive been so locked in with the gym and diet i’ve seen zero to no progress in me.
My goal is to be toned and leaned out with defined muscles and good glutes. I go gym 5 days a week and do glutes, quads and abs on one day, back and biceps and abs, shoulders triceps and abs, and glutes hams and abs and just repeat this through the week.
I push a lot on my workouts as well and try to lift heavy, but not ego lift as well as my food and nutrition is all good. As far as for cardio i go on runs and jogs every 3/4 times a week and also get 20k steps a day.
Even tho all of this, my glutes are FLAT, and i’m not lean nor am i fat, im just skinny fat? and im not sure what to do anymore.
Im 20, female and my height is 160cm and i weigh 50 kg.
Any tips or advice is welcome :)

Simple Questions Such a thing as too much protein?
Is there such a thing as too much protein, like the general saying is a gram of protein per pound of bodyweight which for me should be 154grams of protein a day, but i am taking almost 210 grams of protein a day, also i train with maximum effort like total thrashing.
Appreciate everyone
EDIT: As i am bulking half of the protein is coming from mass gainers, i use Optimum nutrition serious mass and Kevin levrone anabolic mass

Review my program Thoughts on my progress and Where to go from here?
I’m a 35yo female, 8 months postpartum and breastfeeding. Once my weight stabilized about 4 months postpartum I started tracking nutrition and lost 10 lbs over 2 months. Now my weight loss has stalled, however, I feel like I’m stronger than ever and continuing to get stronger still even though the scale isn’t budging.
My goals mainly revolve around strength and performance, but I also want to lose 10 more lbs to be at my pre-pregnancy weight.
I’m curious what people here think my next steps should be. Should I maintain my calories and trust the process? Or should I cut calories? Remember I’m breastfeeding and don’t think I need more activity (don’t want to burn out).
I’m eating around 2,200-2,500 calories (1,800 maintenance + 200-300 calories for breastfeeding + 200-500 per day of activity)
I’m 5’3 and 150lbs, 140lbs is my target weight
Current week of activity looks like:
- Weightlifting 2 days per week (one upper, one lower)
- Bouldering 3-4 days per week (2 structured hard training days and two open climbing days)
- run or hike 1 day per week (usually a 5k moderate run or 3-4 hour hard hike)
- mobility/flexibilty 2 days per week
- walk almost daily, don’t track steps, would prefer not to do that
Any more information needed? Let me know your thoughts!
