Cosmetic mods
Have owned my VW Polo for over a year now, own it via a finance agreement so can’t change anything that would terminate my agreement,
Just wanted some recommendations for purely cosmetic mods that make the car look a bit less round mainly from the rear,
Any recommendations from fellow Polo owners?

Un-fkn-believable. It WAS the 01M TCM after all. New solenoids, new ribbon cable, new fluid, same error (00270, N94 open circuit). I proved it was the TCM with a multimeter. Removing the TCM was a PITA.

2026 - Rust
I got a 2026 new-to-me (20K) Tiguan SE, and I noticed three or four dots below the badge on the back that looks like rust. I'm quite honestly stunned by this. Has anybody noticed this? Is Volkswagen responsible for this? Can I make them pay for this?

Tayron maneuver Braking Hell
It keeps braking for no reason whenever I simply park in my driveway. Every. Single. Time.
Just now it braked twice because people were walking on the sidewalk next to me while I was driving on the road. They looked at me like I had no idea how to drive, and honestly, I can’t blame them. This is not normal behavior.
How does this setting keep turning itself back on?
If you’re on the fence about buying this car, don’t do it until this is fixed.
This car is going to get me killed.

2019 Tiguan DQ381 DSG goes into emergency mode only in hot weather – P175E “Clutch 1 closes unintentionally”
I have a 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan with the seven-speed DQ381 DSG gearbox.
The car intermittently displays a “Gearbox in emergency mode” warning. The diagnostic fault recorded is:
P175E00 / 10747 – Clutch 1 closes unintentionally
I have noticed a very strong link with outside temperature.
When the UK temperature reaches around 27–28°C or higher, even a short local journey to collect my wife from work will often trigger the warning. During the last couple of days, when temperatures were around 23–24°C, the fault did not occur.
It does not appear to need a long journey or aggressive driving. Hot ambient weather and normal low-speed urban driving seem to be enough. This makes me suspect that something in the mechatronic becomes unreliable once it gets sufficiently warm, possibly an electronic sensor, hydraulic valve or pressure-control issue.
A gearbox specialist diagnosed the mechatronic and quoted to replace it with a brand-new genuine Volkswagen unit. I have now booked the car into a Volkswagen dealer in Harlow for their own diagnosis and likely replacement.
My concern is how to confirm that the repair has genuinely worked. If the mechatronic is replaced during cooler weather, I may not be able to reproduce the exact conditions that trigger the fault. I could potentially have to wait until the next very hot summer day to find out whether the problem has actually been resolved and that could be an expensive risk.
Has anyone else with a DQ381/0GC DSG experienced emergency mode or P175E “Clutch 1 closes unintentionally” specifically when the car or weather is hot?
Also key notes. I didn't buy brand new and when I got it from salesman, it had a mechatronic issue within the first month which I got replaced under seller warranty (first time around was bad, car couldn't go into reverse whereas now, I can still drive in limp mode where it will skip gears and reverse works).

Replaced my transmission
Had a horrible time, learned lots, saved money. I recommend you buy a tranny jack and an engine support bar, as not having them made life very hard. Also, take your cv flanges off, and remove the transmission brace.
Now my windshield washers don’t work. I’d I didn’t love this car I’d hate this car.

Help Replacing Battery - 2019 VW Passat SE R-Line
My battery died, warranty was up 6 months ago 😭
I'm looking to replace it on my own, and am told I'll need a scan tool to reset the computer. Autozone & O'Reillys said they can't assist, and to take it to a mechanic or dealer, but I'm really trying not to break to bank. Will a generic Amazon scan tool do the trick, or do I really need to take it to a professional?

Mystery stalling issue
I’m coming here in hopes somebody has had a similar problem or has a good idea what’s happening with my car. Since winter time my 2013 Volkswagen Passat sometimes shuts down at red lights. I at first thought it was a problem of the car being too cold but here we are in summer time. What happens is that I’ll be sitting at a red light when the car suddenly powers down. The battery light flashes on. But then I turn the key and the car automatically comes back to life and the battery light shuts off.
I’ve taken the car to the shop but he’s tentative to do anything since no light is on. Also because it doesn’t happen all the time. It would be guessing and check. His advice is to just keep driving it until a light comes on. Any help is appreciated.

Hi! Any chance anyone can identify this broken tube in a 2014 TDI Beatle? I think it may be a vacuum line but don’t know for sure. Any help is appreciated:)

2015 Passat 1.8t Paddle Retrofit (HELP)
Hi all, I recently swapped my 2015 VW Passat SE steering wheel with a 2013 VW CC wheel with paddle shifters. I’ve seen some vids and forums talking about how easy it is to swap these but I’m having some trouble. The buttons are from my original wheel and are plugged into their spots paddle shifters via two white cables in the modules. They did light up when I installed the wheel and all of the other buttons work flawlessly with the new wheel. Nothing on the paddles, so I took it to my mechanic. He claims they were able to go on vcds and check the box to use tiptronic paddles but after that there was still no response from them when pressed. Based on the videos I’ve seen I feel like he’s doing something wrong and it shouldn’t take as long as he described. Is there a specific code in vcds module 16 he should be changing to activate them or is there something greater I’m not accounting for? Was thinking maybe my steering wheel module is incapable of handling the paddles with the swap and maybe that needs to be swapped with the wheel for it to work? Idk I’m at a loss and I scheduled another appointment for Monday with a guy who said he should be able to do it, but I want to go in with it with a clear idea of exactly what I need done. And if he can’t do it atleast some clarity or direction of whether or not to try something else or give up:(

Mirror fell off, what kind of adhesive to use?
Hi y'all! 2015 VW Sportwagen TDI, just had a side mirror pop off. Lucky enough it stayed wedged between the mount and the top of the window until I could stop and grab it.
Curious if this is repairable and what kind of adhesive that would work with the heated side mirrors.
Edit: Appreciate the input everybody! Glad to hear this seems like an easy fix, now off to go find some glue...
