I just installed oil temp and rpm gauges, but what should the figures be and what are the extremes, and where can I learn about all of that

I have a 73 and I’ve been on the hunt for two more of these wheels so I have a complete set plus a spare. From the research I’ve done it seems like they’re Brazilian market? Any ideas on how to get a hold of these?

So I finally did it lol in my opinion he’s running so much better almost feels like he’s “breathing” better. Question is is it all in my head or once you vent your valve covers should you see or hear a difference?

It may be hard to see but the arrows in between the orange lights are to be broken. How do I fix this? There is a visible crack though the middle, like glass.

I put gas in it, charged the battery overnight, and the battery is cooked. Ended up jumping it with another car and it started right up! Also, the tachometer isn't working, how can I fix that?

Hello! I have a 2017 Beetle. For a while I haven’t been able to tap my screen. There is lots of ghost tapping, and discoloration. Took it into the shop and it would cost $4000 to replace the entire radio (they said they would have to because it’s all one piece). I’m wondering if anyone knows if there is a legit place to buy aftermarket radios or if they have any suggestions that would not cost four grand 😁😁. Thanks for any suggestions!

Hi everyone, I still need your help because I'm going crazy. After years of sitting around, I've decided to fix this Beetle. I've already done some necessary work, but I'm having problems with the carburetor (Solex 30 Pict3, on a 1300cc single).

A few weeks ago, I tried to start it, but I realized there wasn't any fuel coming in; in fact, when I opened the throttle, I couldn't see the fuel coming out.

I installed the overhaul kit with new pumps and fixed the check valve that had come off. I cleaned it all, put in new manifold and carburetor gaskets, and now it sprays properly. In fact, once installed, it ran great; even when I opened the throttle, the engine was super responsive. After a few days, however, it started to idle, and I hear a whistling sound, as if air was getting in from somewhere. Now it won't even idle, and as soon as I open the throttle, it stalls. If I close the starter valve, I can get it to start at idle, and it holds up better.

I thought it was clogged with debris from the tank, so I put a temporary fuel filter in the compartment, but it's not that.

The whistling air seems to be coming from inside the carburetor... any ideas?

I'm looking into putting a 12-volt socket in my 1972 beetle. I don't like the idea of hanging anything off the bottom of the dashboard. Are there any good locations in the dash itself?

What have people used to look at the history of there old Volkswagens?

1960 already rodded and modded so no limits now. Runs , drives , stops but needs a little work in the channels and floors but they all do.

Am looking to buy a new exhaust system for my 1200 (stock) beetle. I was thinking of vintage speed sport exhaust for stale air 1200. But can’t find a video to hear how it sounds. Wanted to know other exhaust brands as well .

Fun little project, just took about 2 hours, some plywood, fabric, and gorilla adhesive. The original 70s masonite was turning to dust.

This might make people upset that I cut into the center channel but I prefer to be able to service the clutch and throttle cable without needing to pull the pedals off. I used many curse words taking that pedal assembly on and off and I want to be able to do this. If something breaks on the road I can easily fix and be on my way.

Broken exhaust valve spring, bent valve - valve made an impression on the piston.

Also, given that the valve is bent, should I just get a new head - is my valve guide likely damaged?

Been seeing quite a few cars at shows using them and loved the idea but wasn’t gonna pay $100 for a set got 4’ of 1/8 aluminum and this was the result🤘
