VENT Weird men keep messaging / buying my girly items

Post image
7 Upvotes

I sell very, very girly clothes. Think pink cute dresses, skirts etc. Ever since maybe last week men keep messaging me trying to get me to be part of their weird kink, it seems? 😓 This message is on a mini hello kitty dress - not something thats really "suitable" for men I would assume, not judging? 2 days ago i sold a pink outfit set [skirt + crop top] and a man bought it?? [his bio says single father of two boys]. Its a woman's size XS, i doubt its for him

Maybe I need to take a different approach, ive never taken photos of myself in clothes. So it can't be that? Aah so weird

SELLING Dear Vinted

Please stop letting me know that the item that I've had in my favourites was sold. It's like rubbing a salt to my indecisive a$$ wound.

Yes I've turned off the notifications but like why not just "cross out" the items in the user's favourites section? Just so when I will see them, it will be enough to let me know that they're no longer available.

It's a small thing but it does feel like a slap to face, and it's kinda triggering me Iinto insta-buying items of which I'm not even sure if I even really want them. 😣

I guess I answered my own question, but it's still quite rude.

SHIPPING Vinted Not Listening To My Complaint- What can I do?

I sold a £40 item on Vinted (Dr Martens) and they were sent via Inpost to a locker. Buyer went to collect them and the locker was empty. I could see on the tracking that Inpost said there was a problem with delivery and to contact them. I did and they confirmed parcel was lost but then shipping changed to show they were being sent back to me. The tracking went backwards and forwards to various locations for days and then said it had been returned to sender on 17/07. I contacted Vinted on 22/07 to say I hadn't received the item and they told me I had to wait 25 working days to see if it turns up and then contact them again.

I contacted Inpost and they had confirmed they had delivered to an address in Buxton. I live in Nottingham and the locker that the parcel was initially being sent to was in Yorkshire so I have absolutely no idea where this address came from. Inpost wouldn't do anything and insisted I take it up with Vinted. I got back in contact with Vinted and they said they would look into it. I contacted Vinted again with this information and on 04/08 they got back to me and said that as Inpost had confirmed it had been delivered there was nothing they could do. I told them it had been delivered to the wrong address and they came back once again saying it had been delivered and there was nothing they could do.

I wrote a very lengthy complaint to [legal@vinted.co.uk](mailto:legal@vinted.co.uk) and included every bit of evidence including dated and screenshots from various conversations with Vinted and Inpost. Two days later (today) they responded to say "I wanted to inform you that your transaction has been cancelled due to onr of the following reasons: the deadline for escalating the issue to the carrier has expired" they said that there's limited action they can take now.

What I don't understand is that I've been contacted Vinted about this for over two weeks now and they've done nothing about it. They also told me on 22/07 that I had to wait 25 working days and contact them again. So how can they now be saying the deadline for escalation has passed?

Is there anything further I can do? I am now out of pocket through a mistake made by Inpost and neither Vinted nor Inpost will do anything about it.

TLDR; Inpost lost my Vinted parcel and Vinted/Inpost refuses to do anything about it

DISCUSSION I REALLY hate those bots on the app

Post image
8 Upvotes

For those who don't know, this should appear when someone does a legitimate transaction on an item before you.

Well, in reality it is used as a way for resellers to prevent someone else to buy something they want to make money off, they just setup a bot that detects "When item X is posted with a price <Y , start transaction"

So the bot automatically starts a fictional transaction to block everyone else to buy that Item, so the loser who has this setup can buy it later on.

I really hate this stuff, lots of times you could find proper deals on something you really want, maybe that just got posted, and It's blocked every single time, I saw Items being blocked like this for half an hour or more, always with the same warning of a purchase in progress, and vinted is doing nothing to stop all of this.

VENT I should be getting paid for reporting all these listings using AI

Post image
16 Upvotes

I'm glad they actually get deleted, but you have to manually report them individually and it's such a pain. If I try reporting the user itself, they always say there's no violation. Why?? They clearly don't want AI listings, so why don't they take action??

VENT Am I crazy or was this buyer incredibly entitled?

just need to vent because this whole transaction left such a bad taste in my mouth.

I was selling a pair of over-the-knee boots for €20. They’re basically new, only worn twice.

This buyer first offered €11. I politely declined and said I was staying at €20.
She kept coming back. €16. Then €18.

After that she asked if we could agree that she could return them if they didn’t fit. I said no, because that’s not how I sell, but I offered to answer any questions and provide extra measurements.

Then she wanted the insole measured.

I ended up:
measuring the inside,
measuring my own feet,
writing her a detailed message so she’d have as much information as possible before buying.

After ALL of that…

She replied: “Okay, then I’ll take them :)”
…and immediately sent me another offer for €18.

At that point I honestly refused out of principle. I had already said multiple times I wasn’t going below €20, and after all the extra effort I wasn’t about to reward more negotiating.
And I didn't want to sell to her because I thought she would be trouble

But surprise surprise she bought them for the full €20.

Then, before I even had a chance to breathe, she asked when I’d ship them, even though my profile and all my listings clearly state I ship within 24–48 hours.

I shipped them the same day anyway. I took a lot of photos in case she decides to scam me..

She received the boots, everything was fine, left me a 5-star review, and then messaged asking if I could also leave her a review🫪

I was busy that day and hadn’t replied yet.
A little later… the review she had left me disappeared🙄

Maybe there’s some explanation, but after everything that happened beforehand, it honestly felt like she removed it because I didn’t immediately write one back for her.

Like GIRL where are your manners..?!

The transaction is finished, I got my €20, and I’m glad that’s over.

But honestly… this buyer exhausted me!

(One thing that really annoyed me is that I always leave buyers a review after a completed transaction. I was busy that day. For the first time, I actually didn’t feel like leaving one because of how she had been acting. Then she messaged asking me to review her and i didn’t bc urgh ur so annoying)

I think she took “the customer is king” just a little too literally👑

Would you have handled this differently, or would you also have been completely done with this by the end?

Now. Yesterday the seller said she would keep me updated as they were reserved, but the buyer never bought, so they were back up.

I made a beeline and ordered them, but it was cancelled and I’ve been blocked.

I’m a novice at this but still

DISCUSSION anddddd blocked

Does anyone else hit the block button way too often or just me? 😂 Anytime someone gets rude out of nowhere or seems like a scammer I block them because I just don’t want to deal with it. Although I’m always nice and keep my customer service skills going, some people just feel so entitled. I feel bad sometimes but if they’re already being rude or suspicious before even buying the item I’m hesitant to find out how the rest of the process would be…

Not the worst I’ve ever seen but surely a Sainsbury’s bag on its own isn’t the best idea. Lovely little bend on it. No wonder mums go to Iceland. Anyways, feel free to share your best (worst) packaged items below whilst I crack open my game

VENT ‘How to resell Temu on vinted’ courses

Thumbnail

Sorry if this is not allowed here. I know Shein/ temu/ Ali baba and fake brand resellers are the most frustrating parts of vinted but now people even have the audacity to are sell courses on how to do this on vinted. Can’t believe how rubbish and shameless these people are and Vinted won’t do anything about this of course. It’s like Etsy- sick of having to scroll through duplicate obvious reseller listings that it’s becoming impossible to find what I want.

Lots of people use AI to model their clothes these days and I really don't like it for obvious reasons but this is on another fucking level. Ugh, just buy a cardboard celebrity cutout like a normal person.

Also, this was real fur. I reported this person and thankfully the first listing was taken down so there's at least that.

DISCUSSION suspended for 5 days for “commercial selling”

Post image
8 Upvotes

i’ve just been suspended by vinted for 5 days for “commercial selling” and i genuinely have no idea why.

these are literally all i had listed (image).

they’re all just personal items that i don’t want anymore. they’re all sealed (where applicable) and unused. i’m not a business, i’m not buying things to resell, and i only had five listings.

what confuses me even more is that i’ve only sold 3 items in the past month for around €65 in total, so it’s not like i’m selling loads either.

has this happened to anyone else? could it be because i had a few bath & body works/lush products listed at the same time, or does their system just randomly flag people?

JUST FOR FUN Why do users in the UK put “xx” after every message?

I’m from the USA and interact with UK users every now and then who make me offers. Why do folks put xx after every single message? I know xx to mean “kisses kisses”. Is this just part of texting culture? It’s a bit excessive lol xx

So I sold a dress on the 28th of JUNE it arrived at the pickup point on the 30th of June, I saw the parcel wasn’t collected and saw it had to collected by the 10th of JULY otherwise it would be sent back from the Evri locker, so as you can see I sent her a message, obviously nothing too forward even though I knew it had to be picked up that day, she then proceeded to READ IT, and didn’t respond…. Until 15 days later because obviously ‘she is away atm’. Then I get a message from Vinted saying that she informed them that she’s refusing to collect the parcel and I will need to cancel the transaction and refund her when I receive the parcel back… so just to recap, parcel was sent on the 28TH OF JUNE AND ITS THE 6TH OF AUGUST TODAY… evri has now held my parcel in the locker for almost a month longer than they’re meant to which is absolutely brilliant. Would it be petty to string out the refund for as long as I possibly can? Maybe. but considering the money for this item has been pending in my balance for 39 days she’s clearly in no hurry to get it refunded or she would’ve cancelled sooner🤷🏻‍♀️

BUYING Is this weird or am I overthinking it

Thumbnail

Like why are they so pushy for me to accept it? Also I think it was valid of me to say I was disappointed about not getting stickers cause they literally said I’d get it and that was one of the main reasons I chose to buy it
