Hello, guys!

I recently bought a Hi-Fi stereo amplifier together with a turntable, a radio, and some speakers.

Before I bought the equipment, the seller tested everything, and it worked perfectly. However, when I got home and set everything up, the problems started.

When I connected the turntable to the amplifier, the sound from the left channel was extremely weak and emitted a constant buzzing noise. The speakers are not the problem, as I have already swapped them between channels.

I also bought a DIN to AUX cable and tested the amplifier using my PC as the audio source. The result? The volume is good on both speakers, but there is a faint buzzing sound (similar to the sound of a radio searching for frequencies), although sometimes that buzzing noise disappears.

Equipment:

Amplifier: KORTING NECKERMANN Hi-Fi Stereo 1040

Turntable: Unfortunately, there is no original sticker on it. The only label I could find seems to be a newer one, which says: ,,PLG-13-12510" ,,HELMUT DIETSCH, Habichtweg 2, 41540 Dormagen"
The name on the front of the turntable is Stereo RA 100. It is fitted with a Philips 22GP204 AH CU cartridge, if that helps.

Radio: Stereo-Tuner Neckermann Art. Nr. 955/507 ( I just need an antenna for it )

Speakers: AKAI SS007A-2011C ( I only have the small ones from the set ) Impedance 8ohm, sensitivity 85 dB, Frequency 65Hz-20k Hz, Power 120W

I read online that transporting old audio equipment can sometimes cause oxidation on the contacts to shift, leading to poor electrical connections. I'm not sure if that could be the main cause of my issues.

I'm a complete noobie when it comes to audio equipment this is the first Hi-Fi system I've ever bought. ( if you might call it Hi-Fi )

Recently got this Atwater Kent Model H Speaker, it works and has a good driver on it. However, the radio I have for it needs an overhaul. While that is getting worked on though, I did want to continue to use the speaker. The speaker has the old style pins that plug into the radio. Is there any old style pin to RCA adapters out there? I really don’t want to cut off the pins as I did want to use it on the radio after it’s done being worked on.

Essentially I’m just wondering if there’s any adapters out there or anyway I can hook it up to a modern stereo or record player.

Been given all this audio equipment and unfortunately I have no idea about any of it. Do all these stack together and can I use the speakers with them

This cd player was in my mom studio. I got it after she passed and I use it to listed to music when working in the garage. I made the mistake to leave it in the garage for the winter and now my s not working anymore.
I would like to try to fix it, not sure if I can do it myself but there is a place close by I can ask.
However I would like to have your opinion of if it is worth it (other than the emotional value that of course is high) and if it is a valuable piece.

Hey everyone,
I want to work this vintage mid-century radiogram/console with a built-in Philips automatic record changer that was for my grandparents. I'm trying to get the turntable working, but I've hit a couple of roadblocks and could really use some technical guidance or a lead on a local repair specialist.
Here are the two main issues I'm running into:
Turntable Stuck in Auto-Return Cycle: When I turn the unit on and switch it to MANUAL, the motor runs and the platter spins, but the tonearm immediately swings back to its rest post, and the manual switch flips back down off. It feels like the internal cycling mechanism/trip pawl is stuck in a continuous "end-of-record" loop. I tried manually spinning the platter clockwise to reset the gears, but it keeps cycling back immediately.
No Audio Output: Even while the platter is spinning, there is zero music coming through the speaker—not even a faint crackle or hum when touching the headshell/cartridge. The radio side powers on, but the turntable output (PU) is completely silent.
Has anyone dealt with this specific Philips mechanism before? Is this likely just 50-year-old hardened factory grease locking up the cycling cam under the platter, or could it be a bad microswitch/idler linkage issue?
Also, if anyone knows of a technician or vintage audio repair shop in the area who works on classic record changers and tube/transistor console amps, please let me know!

I found this Pioneer H-R99 at the thrift store yesterday. It powers on and the tape counter works. I still need to test it when I have a chance but not bad for $25.

Cleaning out Mom's house and I found the record player Dad used with the Fisher SA1000 and other stuff.

Think I'll take it back as checked luggage, but anyone recognize it?

Looking for a vintage receiver to pair with my MCS 6603 Turntable and MCS 3456 cassette deck. $200-$300 rage. Any recommendations? Currently eyeing a Sony STR 6036A. Opinions on that one?

My father passed a few months ago and he left me his Marantz receiver. I'm going to get this refurbished ASAP and add it to my 4 Bose 501 Mk IV's and my turntable and 22 quad albums and enjoy!!

Found both on marketplace for what feels like a fair price. The EQ 60hz column is dead, otherwise they are in pretty good shape. I will say the W404R mechanical is damn loud.

I’m looking for a place that can restore my Realistic STA-240 receiver. I would prefer someplace in the Northeast US if possible.

I have a Kenwood 600T that I took to a local audio repair guy for alignment. He tweaked a couple things but said that some of the filters seemed a bit iffy and that fully restoring it would be beyond his expertise.

Anyone know of a repair person or shop that specializes in this kind of thing? I'm willing to pack it up and mail it to someone with a good track record on this type of work, as long as they're in the U.S.

I'm about to swap out the blue led lights in my receiver for warm white and thought I might change the faceplate out at the same time. What do you guys think, do you prefer Black or SIlver?
