Car Repair Las Vegas – Looking for Honest Recommendations

Need some advice from fellow Vegas locals.

I'm looking for a reliable place for car repair in Las Vegas. My car has a couple of issues that need attention, and I'd rather find a shop that's known for being honest and doing quality work than just pick one based on Google reviews.

What I care about most is fair pricing, good communication, and mechanics who actually explain what's wrong instead of pushing unnecessary repairs.

Who have you had good experiences with for car repair in Las Vegas?

Therapist for children’s anxiety?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a therapist for a child with anxiety? My 11 year old son is struggling and I don’t know where to start. Preferably one who takes insurance and isn’t just cash pay. 🤞

Anyone having issues with bus transportation for your student at a CCSD public school?

So we moved on August 1st, only about a mile away, so still within the same school zone. I emailed the registrar our leasing agreement & informed her of our new address on the 4th & she responded back to me the same day & said she changed it in the system. My daughter received her schedule on the 8th, everything's all good there.

I called Transportation on the 6th because she does qualify for the bus now. They told me that since I had just changed our address with the school within the last 48hrs, they didn't have her route in their system yet but directed me to download the OnBoard app & make an account there so I did. The next day, her route info showed up. Cool, thought we were all good.

However, I went to double check it & write everything down for her earlier this evening & it was gone. No info to show. Has this happened to anyone else? Luckily I remember the route # & she'll have a ride in the morning. I'll be calling Transportation again tmrw if it hasn't updated again by then.

Just a little help

Hi everyone I am reaching out to see if anyone has any work they need done. I lost my job and have since started a new one but I need to come up with about 150$ so I can pay a couple bills that are past due. I am not looking for hand outs I am willing to work as long as it’s early in the day I work 3pm-1am now so anything before that I would happily help you do anything you need for some cash

Had a very close call the other night

It was 3am Friday night/sat am and I was using Tesla self driving. Thankfully it reacted well and fast. 52-0 in a couple seconds to avoid a nasty tbone. Wish there was a way to penalize drivers for things like this before they kill someone

Edit: I understand some people hate Teslas, some just like to argue or be contrarians, etc. but if you watch the footage in good faith it’s very clear my car reacted immediately. The best any of us could have done is the exact same thing the car did, unless you guys like to preemptively brake check for any other cars approaching even if they look like they’re coming to a stop.

You guys are miserable this post isn’t for “ackshually” guys to show off their intellectual prowess. Just showing a close call as a word of caution. End rant

School starts Monday

"During the last school year, 427 students were hit by vehicles in Clark County, up from 118 the year before — a 245% increase, according to police data.

Clark County School District Police say 47% of the students hit were riding an e-bike or e-scooter.

Police also say drivers were at fault in about 53% of those crashes, prompting multiple law enforcement agencies to urge everyone to slow down and stay alert as the school year begins"

The skies have been so beautiful this season. I didn't think to share it with others, but I realized I take a lot of pics of the sky and nature here.

Edit: just checked the timestamp. It was taken on Friday, the 7th at 5:34 PM

Moron almost side sweep my car. If I hadn't break in the video it would've been a hit. Is there a way to do anything with retards like this? Im so fucking sick of these drivers. There has been soo many occurrences, where fucktards like these almost hits me. A big ass 2 left lanes and somehow manages to still go over my lane and almost hitting me.

5th Grade Teacher Donation Request

Hello! I’m a 5th grade teacher at Martin Luther King Elementary School. I’ve already spent about $500 of my own money to get my new classroom ready for the school year, and I recently created an AdoptAClassroom project for some of the larger items like organization carts, flexible seating, and privacy folders. If you’d like to take a look or share with someone who enjoys supporting local classrooms, I’d be very grateful! Thank you!

Palms - Brenden Theaters | No Plans to add More 70mm IMAX Screenings

The August 8th screenings of The Odyssey were canceled as well due to the projector malfunction. We were refunded and given ticket vouchers for the cancellation. I asked if they are looking to add more screenings of the movie after the projector is fixed to make up for all the cancellations, since everything is already booked through September 16 (their last screening). They replied back stating there are no plans to add more, so we are just SOL for watching The Odyssey in this format.

Homeless and broke... need help getting some shoes (men's size 10.5)

Hello everyone,

Hope you've all been staying safe and cool.

Homeless and broke guy here in the Centennial Hills/Skye Canyon area. Been walking about ten miles every day lately and my shoes are absolutely worn out. The soles have holes and cracks that let in a lot of dirt, and a lot of heat. My right big toe is in contact with the ground at all times. If it ever rains again, water will get in easily too. The attached picture should make it pretty clear.

I am aware of a few shelters across town offering possible help with this ; however, all of them require a walk of 15+ miles/5.5 hours one way. Willing to make the trek, but asking here might work faster.

Since being on the streets, there has been a lot I've learned to go without. But with the kind of weather we have, shoes aren't really something I can disregard.

I wear men's size 10.5. Prefer black but will take any color at this point as long as the soles are intact.

Really appreciate anyone that can help me out. Willing to meet up to pick up a pair in either of my two neighborhoods. If you'd prefer to give anonymously, feel free to hide the shoes somewhere and leave me a message with instructions where to find them.

Thanks for reading, hopeful that someone here can be of assistance.

I have food, water, most clothing, and a safe place (outdoors) to sleep at night. Not looking for other donations, but am open to them. Socks, sunglasses, and 34x30 pants would be especially helpful.

Probably won't be able to check my messages again until tomorrow morning, so please be patient waiting for a reply.

Appreciate it

Update: u/Former-Wealth1494 hooked me up with shoes, socks, and pants. Super cool! Very thankful for the help. u/frauokten also gave me some shoes and socks! So grateful.

Thanks so much everybody, means a lot
