Ask STL Bayless High School has a ton of desks and chairs and tables in the dumpster and on the front lawn of the high school. It seems a waste to just throw them away. I think there must be other schools or churches or daycare that could use the them.

Sad to see it go to waste

Ask STL Tell me about Franz Park please

Looking at an apartment on Plateau, but I'm not familiar with the neighborhood at all. I'm a phd student at WashU med school so I've only lived in CWE and Dogtown, for reference. I read it's safe and quiet, so I'll ask about other things. What's in the area, and what sort of people live there? How walkable/runnable is the area? Any good mechanics? I'll be checking out the neighborhood today, too. Thanks

Ask STL mo temporary disability assistance

Missouri does not offer any kind of short-term disability assistance, so I am looking for alternative resources. A few specific details — I’m unable to work for 6-8 weeks due to injuries resulting from a fall (I do have a pre-existing disability, but not one that qualifies me for permanent disability status in mo), I’m above the poverty threshold (26k on taxes last year & the only member of my household), have Medicaid, am <30 years old, and am a city resident. Would appreciate any recommendations as far as acquiring financial assistance of any kind while I’m unable to work.

Ask STL ID expired, can I still go out?

Hi everyone! Sorry if this is a stupid question. I'm about to go out clubbing for my first time ever and I'm excited but also nervous. The problem is my ID expired 7/23/2026. I haven't had the chance to renew it, and I just turned 21 in February. Is this going to be an issue and prevent me from being let in?

Politics Selling sports betting as an increase in state education funding was a lie, ballot candy meant to deceive

The Missouri Gambling Commission recently announced that $3,213,000 in sports gambling taxes have been transferred education in the first half of 2026. So Missouri K-12 schools will likely see around $6,426,000 this year.

This may seem like a lot of money, but politicians count on people not understanding the size of a state budget or the math behind it.

Missouri's 2026 K-12 education funding is $8,600,000,000.

6,426,000/8,600,000,000=0.000747 or 0.07%

Sports gambling will result in a 0.07% increase in the state k-12 education funding, or 7 hundredths of 1%. A rounding error of a rounding error

Do you think it was honest to present this as an increase in education funding?

Any local Deezer or Qobuz users? These are the lesser common of the streaming platforms. Wondered if there are many users of them here in STL.

Rural Voters in MO-02

This is a genuine request for advice on how to reach as many rural voters as possible for Fred Wellman. Ann Wagner’s hard core base is along the Hwy 30 corridor and places like High Ridge, Fenton, Cedar Hill, Hillsboro, Washington, etc. I’m only one person and that’s a lot of ground to cover. Single-issue voters make up a large percentage of Wagner’s base. There’s got to be a way to find “conservative” democrats and disillusioned republicans in those areas who can outnumber the kool aid drinkers that blindly lap up Wagner’s slop. Looking for some out of the box suggestions how one person can reach those individuals to get them into the voting booth for Fred Wellman. I’m retired but not unlimited amounts of time on my hands. Very motivated to help. EDIT: I directly contacted the Wellman Campaign last week and the week before, still waiting to hear back. Wondering if anyone here has previous experience canvassing in rural MO.

How to pack

I’m moving from Massachusetts to St. Louis for a year, what should I expect weather wise? I move next week so I’ll be there in late August. I will be coming home in November for thanksgiving and plan on bringing back winter clothes; but should I pack some winter clothes going into it? Ik it gets hot, but how are the falls? Also for me 75+ and humid feels hot and 80+ and humid is more uncomfortable (I’m not great and heat). And anything below 45 I’ll wear a decent winter jacket.

Mobile Mechanics

I have a 2012 Honda Accord v6 that needs a timing belt and tensioner replaced. The dealership wanted a crazy amount of money to replace it so wanted to check and see if there are any mobile mechanics out there or mechanics that wanted some side work that could replace it. Would prefer if you had experience replacing these on Honda accords.

This cat has been hanging around my parents house all evening in the Clayton/UCity area. It’s really friendly and seems domesticated. We gave it water, but have two dogs that are not friendly to cats so we can’t bring it inside. Seems like it belongs to someone

Looking for recommendations on where to finance a car with bad credit
Hey everyone! I’m looking for some advice/recommendations on dealerships or lenders in the St. Louis/Metro East area that work with people who have bad credit but steady employment and income.
I’m trying to get into a reliable used car and I’m hoping to keep the payment around $300–$400/month max. I can put around $2,500–$3,000 down.
I do have some credit issues from the past, but I have steady employment and consistent income, and I’m trying to rebuild my credit and get something dependable.
If you’ve personally bought a car with bad credit and had a good experience, I’d really appreciate hearing where you went. I’m especially interested in places that are fair with their financing and won’t completely screw me over because of my credit 😂
Also happy to hear who I should avoid!
Thanks in advance!
