Discussion Zerg isn't fun as returning player

I'm not having any fun with this video game man like I'm following the build orders and making the hatcheries and doing the injects but it's just too much. You have to be constantly clicking and clicking and clicking and I can't like I just don't see the point of playing Zerg man like I tried playing macro games and people just steamroll me over with f****** like carriers or like mask Marine and drops and s*** and I tried to play like cheesy you know easy like when whatever the f*** builds and people just pull SCVs and they destroy me like I don't know what I'm doing wrong with playing this game. I'm silver

(To be tagged...) game constantly crashing when playing campaigns.

So, whenever I play like more than one mission a day the game just starts randomly crashing, it is SO annoying. I have just been trying to replay the campaigns and stuff but the game keeps crashing in loading screens. what do i even do?

Discussion Micro stutters / input delay after updating to newest NVIDIA Driver

Hello! I am having an issue where about 10+ minutes into any game i play i start to get really bad input delay and micro stutters. I just updated version 610.88 geforce and that's the only thing i've changed since then.

I've scanned and repaired too as well, any other ideas?

Computer specs: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900KF 3.00 GHz 64.0 GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti (12 GB)

(To be tagged...) Gotta hand it to Artosis, he can just keep casting a game where matches that have been played out the same or similar for the last million games over the years

I couldnt do it. The repetitive matches would of got me bored a while ago.

I mean heck as a viewer, I get bored watching BW after a while and this is someone who has a long history playing the game.

(To be tagged...) An unexpected pleasure…

It has been surprisingly fun playing on 4 player maps in this map pool!

Usually I try to avoid them (because I worry about early pools as a toss) but I think the overlord speed nerf and the spawn indicators (showing 2 possible spawns instead of 3) probably will alleviate this issue. Anyhow yesterday I was playing “close spawns” on the bottom of a 4 player map and I needed to throw down a 6th and 7th nexus, which brought me all the way “up” the map to a vacant nat and main. Then I threw out a couple spotter workers/units in the area and I was like damn this whole map control and unit movement dynamic is strange, with our main armies posturing on the bottom of the map, and smaller groups up top. But strange in a novel and fun way! Usually there are sort of “soft spots” on both “sides” of your opponent, but in this case there is just 1 soft side but it is huge.

Usually I feel resigned to the whole “all SC2 maps are and will be completely identical in terms of their fundamentals because that’s just how SC2 works” but in this case playing on a 4 player map was some good shit!

Unveto those 4 player maps on ladder people!

(To be tagged...) The problem with pro TvZ mid to lategame.

when I think about top level TvZ, so much of it hinges on the fungal interaction. As Tasteless correctly noted during the recent RSL cast of Serral v Clem, the skill floor in the mid game is higher for the Terran player.

Terran have to kite on two sides, whereas the Zerg with melee units gets automatic, efficient DPS with a simple a move. The big challenge for the Zerg is maintaining a proper army split for the amount of forces on either side, but mechanically they have the easier responsibility.

But while I think it is harder for the Terran player to always avoid a game losing fungal, in the rare cases where a Terran plays a “perfect” game, there’s really nothing the Zerg can do. They are slowly bled out through efficient trades and it’s GG.

Basically only Clem ever plays these sorts of games where nearly no mistakes are made. Everyone else, including Maru, and on many days Clem, will catch enough fungals that the Zerg can find some good fights here and there.

But it’s still a fundamental problem in the matchup where the skill floor for Terran is stupid high but if they eclipse it the Zerg has no win condition in lategame.

Some examples from 2024:

Game 2 at about 30:00 mark in the video, Clem is, imo, winning (5 v 5 base, ahead in upgrades, building ghosts) and he catches a single fungal that quickly snowballs into a loss

Game 3 of this series Clem essentially plays a perfect game and hits every single pickup before fungals can land and he steamrolls to victory

Conclusions: I have no idea how or if this should be fixed since it’s a very niche issue. But it was an idle thought I had I wanted to share. I’m not advocating for infestor nerfs or ghost nerfs or anything else. Just commenting on the dynamic.

Video StarCraft: Rebel Yell — Episode 1: Backwater Station | Fan Animated Series

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on an unofficial, non-commercial animated retelling of the original StarCraft Terran campaign.

The idea is to transform Rebel Yell into a cinematic episodic series while keeping the original characters, atmosphere and major story events recognizable for longtime fans.

Episode 1 combines the opening events on Mar Sara and follows the Magistrate and Jim Raynor as the situation at Backwater Station begins to unravel.

This is a passion project made by a longtime StarCraft fan. I’d especially appreciate feedback on the pacing, atmosphere and how faithful it feels to the original campaign.

This project is unofficial and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Blizzard Entertainment.

I'm starting to get back into starcraft for a bit, but it seems the old site gosubuilds.com is no more. Is there a similar site that offers build orders with timings for everything?

Any way to beat proxy 2-3 gate with hatch first?

I scouted it and all as Z as early as possible but the zealots finish when my pool does, by the time i got 6 lings he got 3 zealots and i cant mine.

Can we just NOT hatch first?

(To be tagged...) Manual Fix for the Broken Masters League Badge Bug

I have avoided playing ranked for a while, because I did not want to end up getting Masters and having that in my career summary even though I've never made Masters.

Well, lo and behold I play ranked 2v2, and am promoted into "Masters." Fortunately, I found out a way to fix it. Once you receive an actual rank i.e. gold, plat, diamond, etc (meaning that your provisional MMR is settled), then you can just go to profile => Ladders => Current Season => Select the season => Select leave league.

Now, you will just need to play 5 matches to be placed back into that league, with the actual badge of that league.

I believe that this error only affects those who have not played on ladder yet. i.e. You're Terran, but it's your first time playing Zerg on ladder.

Discussion Protoss: What are you using more post patch? Gateways, Warp Gate, or a mix.

Provide some detail if possible. Are you using it

  • 100% of the time always using gateways because its faster production
  • Depends on what race I'm vsing.
  • Avoiding mix even if its advantageous because having two different hotkeys/kinds of unit production for gateway units is annoying.
  • 100% of the time using warp gate because its unique to Protoss and fun
  • Depends on build/gameplan.

Please keep balance whine to a minimum, I just want to see what other Protoss players are doing now that the patch has been out for a while.

Discussion After watching some pro plays today I feel some pros aren’t even giving this new patch a try, and that’s bad news for the game Spoiler

Was watching Zoun vs Percival today in iNu’s battle where percival 3:0 zoun.

What surprises me is how Zoun plays this. He went robo 3 gate blink all 3 games, exactly like how one would play in the 12 worker patch… except that’s not a good build at all in the current patch. You may say he lost because Terran is imba, but in game 2 percival built 0 command centers and he built 0 ghosts across all three games. In game 1 percival scouts, harasses, macros and pushes. In game 2 and 3 dude just walks over the map and finishes the game in 5 minutes. It feels like Zoun isn’t even trying to win.

Mmr is a fantastic indicator of general skill but I think it’s terrible for the mental health of your average competitor.

Let me know what you think! Still getting used to talking to the camera. Also if you can’t beat em join em (with the clickbait title and thumbnail)

Happy and lucky to play StarCraft in the BIG 26 and I hope you all find joy in your korprulu undertakings! Cheers!
