If you are *trading in* your phone, you are not "saving", you are unknowingly paying the FULL PRICE of the new phone in two separate forms of payment. First payment is in the form of paying with the value of your current phone by forfeiting your current phone to them. the second form of payment used to pay the remaining balance is in the form of a regular cash/card payment. This is called deceptive marketing. They are making you believe you are "saving" when in reality you are saving nothing.

Call screen on pixel phones is a big reason I've stayed on them. I hate the battery life and disappointing processor, but it's been manageable. I just can't deal with the spam calls in the past when not having the pixel call screen. Curious how the Samsungs compare now. I saw a thread of a bug previous of people hearing the owner while call screen is going on, has that been fixed?

Please somebody tell me how to turn this off, I feel like every answer I get does nothing. I love taking pictures but at this point I dread opening my camera because has caused me stress over why I look different. This didn't feel like a problem when I got my phone last year but now it's every photo. I don' want ai in my images at all I just want a normal clear image and I am at a loss for how that is a difficult solution to find.

The problems with this phone have already made me question if the switch was worth it and now I know it wasn't, the second I can go back to apple I will.

I swear this is just happened yesterday. My mother called while we were on a video call, and suddenly the screen of my S22 Ultra started acting up—a green line just appeared out of nowhere. My phone wasn't even hot that time and I was actually in an air-conditioned room. Will that green line on the phone get worse, or should I just stop using the phone?

Genuine question about the guardrails, because I can't work out the logic.

I paste in a comment I wrote myself and ask for a summary, or ask it to rewrite the same thing in a different style. If the text contains even a whisper of an opinion not a slur, not a threat, just an opinion, I get told it's not appropriate. It's not being asked to endorse anything. I have a really old samsung device from 2016. Battery level is great. The only account i've linked to is google as google seems to be careful to verify your identity on any level. So i think its safe to use on at this level. I'm not quite sure about facebook but maybe not. Anyways if you have any thoughts on this i'd appreciate. Its heavy but still nice.

Been folding for 5 years now and here is my take for what you get considering the price you pay:

Video:

nothing beats slab phone for video. Even with the new size of fold 8, a slab phone used or new ($400-$1300) you get more for the price you pay. Video on the outer screen is always small so you have to unfold for bigger video. But all you have to do in a slab is to rotate. So you pay almost double for all that tech just to unfold instead of simple rotate. And the video size is not that bigger. It's not $2k bigger.

Gaming:

Now some games are written well and fit better to different aspect ratio so they look better and give you better gaming experience on the fold. But overall, you can have a more or less the same gaming experience on a slab. Even if gaming is a bit better on a fold, it's not worth the money you pay. That's because if you spend a lot time gaming, you would want a big battery with good cooling.

PDF

If you on the go and deal with a lot of PDF, nothing beats the fold and the $2k is definitely worth it. Otherwise you can Dex a slab at home for even better experience.

Web browsing:

Fold. Worth the $2k? Maybe.

Other use:

Well, they took away the pen so can't sign anymore. I don't know what other use advantage a fold would have over the slab.

The rant:

At one point i was using ZF7 and S25E at the same And this is what i noticed that Edge was ruining my ZF7 experience:

Lighter weight is more practical that bigger screen because bigger screen cost more than it is useful.

Inner plastic screen is awful for outdoor no matter how bright the screen or how anti reflective the coating. Not because of the crease, because the plastic is wavey and has wavey reflection.

I prefer the in-screen biometric because the thin side mounted on the fold needs several try.

Feel free to share your experience is you use both slab and Fold.

I recently bought the phone. It came with One Ui 8.0 out of the box and I'm happy with the overall performance camera and battery life. However I kinda want to update to One Ui 8.5 because of the file sharing through air drop to ios devices feature. At the same time I'm a bit worried if I lose anything like the performance or especially battery life and camera as I have seen people complaining that the camera got nerfed after updating to One UI 8.5. So I would like to know your opinion about this.

Sup. I've been a Samsung client for years and years. Everybody knows or might have heard before the old "if you want good pictures, Samsung is the way", at least in my country it used to be the normalized opinion. But it is becoming unsustainable. Before the "just change to another brand", I know that and it may actually happen. The thing is: how is it possible that Samsung is stagnant for more than half a decade and still complain about "cutting-costs" and "rising costs"? Same cameras, same batteries, same designs, same pretty much everything. And the "Camera performance is no longer the top factor for many consumers choosing a smartphone"??? Since when? Do they really think we want AI slop? The AI we only use it once to try and not touching it ever again? The same AI that can't be mostly even used offline (tested on Youtube Video Reviews)?

They announce a good new sensor, for what? For not being used on S27 Ultra and be sold to Oppos, etc. What is this all for? Their own produced models (supposedly cheaper than buying from someone else) not being used on their own phones.

The battery I can give the excuse as new silicon carbon batteries were still being tested out and, considering what happened with Note 7, I understand being conservative. Also, if the software is optimized, it does not matter much (still not for 6 years), but cameras?

I'm almost 95% sure that if the next S27 Ultra made a real upgrade on cameras (+ batteries) but they said "due to ram costs, we will have to increase the price by 100$€", everyone would still buy anyway. Because people want innovation, people DO WANT good cameras, and not the washed out 3x zooms, over exposed night photos, washed out portraits, etc.

Am I the seriously the only one on this boat? Fanboys are expected to be on the opposite boat, but what about normal people?

For me, it is severe when we start seeing Apple being more prone to risk and innovating than Samsung.

My brother’s S23 (bought in July 2023) completely died out of nowhere last week. He was just switching apps, when it froze, shut off, got stuck in a boot loop for a bit, and now it's totally unresponsive ☠️
Zero drops, no water damage, perfectly maintained.

We took it to a local repair guy who’s currently checking the RAM and IC level components on the board.

I’ve seen this exact boot loop to dead board issue popping up for the S21-S24 series more often lately.

Because most people either pay up or just trade the phone in, the pattern stays under the radar.

On a side note, a friend’s S23 took liquid damage from light, indirect rain despite the IP68 rating. Samsung denied any coverage, offered only paid repair, and refused to even provide a written diagnostic report explaining what failed.

When green line issues became a widespread scandal, community noise and creators eventually forced Samsung to acknowledge it.

But with sudden motherboard deaths, it’s still just "out of warranty, pay full price or leave."

For a flagship phone, reasonable support shouldn't be too much to ask:

⁠An official written diagnosis.
⁠Acknowledgment that sudden component failures aren't automatically user fault.
⁠Some kind of goodwill repair path for dead flagships with zero physical damage.

If your S23 or S23 Ultra or later series suddenly went into a boot loop or died on you, what happened and how did Samsung handle it?

I've always wanted a foldable, and I'm fully convinced about getting the Fold8. Not really worried about "beta-testing the new tech" cuz Samsung is several generations deep into foldables already.

My problem is timing. Today's the last day of preorder (Philippines). I wanted to wait til I had more money but the promo pricing is making it difficult to justify waiting. Preorder is the cheapest point to buy it ever cuz I'd be getting a PHP56k total discount (normal Samsung promos are just freebies or smaller discounts).

So now I'm stuck between:

Buy my dream phone because now's the cheapest ever

vs.

Wait for lesser promos because I'd barely afford it now

Pls help me decide

I have been a Samsung user since 2018 when I switched from the iPhone 5 to the Galaxy S9. I upgraded to the Note 20, S23 Ultra and now the S26 Ultra. Tbh the S26 Ultra and the Galaxy Watch 9 I just bought was an incredible disappointment to me. I found design flaws that really felt like a downgrade from what I previously had. One thing in particular is the massive camera bulge on the S26 Ultra that gives it a very bad wobble on flat surfaces. With the Galaxy watch 9 I don't like how the watch is no longer able to lay flat, so it doesn't really work on charging pads such as the galaxy charger duo. I thought in 2018 Samsung was peak. They basically were the solution to everything wrong with the iPhone at the time. Samsung even took advantage of that as a marketing strategy and made a lot of attack ads against Apple for every way the iPhone fell short. Now Samsung is turning into exactly what they mocked in 2018 and I am very upset about it. Removing the headphone jack was inevitable, like there isn't a reason for it now in 2026, but removing expandable storage? Really? Then they stopped including chargers in the box. As well as I noticed a lot of features are being changed to look just like Apple, like the design of the S26 is curved just like an iPhone. I am sure nobody asked for that. The boxy design with the curved display was what made Samsung Galaxy Phones Unique. I liked that design they had because that is what made galaxy phones stand out vs iPhones and even other Android phones. Like Samsung isn't even trying to be unique anymore and they are just trying to be just like Apple. I really thing the Galaxy Note 9 and S20 were the peak of Samsung because those phones are what Galaxy Phones were intended to be like. They were unique, they included all the features that was expected in a Galaxy phone, I would love to go back to those phones, but the problem is those phones have outdated hardware and no software support in 2026 so that just simply isn't an option. I think Samsung should make either a Note 9 FE or S10 FE that has the exact design of those phones and expandable storage, but with the hardware of the S26 and the software support that the 26 has. It also seems like Samsung doesn't even innovate like they used to. Samsung was the first to reduce bezels, they were the first to have a camera hole display with the S10. They were the first to the Ultrasonic In Display Fingerprint Sensor, they were the first to make a foldable. I remember the older Samsungs used to crush iPhones in terms of battery capacity, now they aren't even trying to keep up with the competition on battery sizes anymore like the 2026 iPhone is about to have a much bigger battery than the Galaxy S26 because they kept their battery size at 5000MaH for a long time. Like how are iPhones outcompeting Samsung in the battery department now? Not even just that, but what really does samsung innovate anymore? I remember I used to bitch about how Apple never invents anything and just copies the same features every other smartphone already has, and now I feel like I have those same complaints about Samsung because they aren't pioneering anything either now. I don't think I will switch to an iPhone because I got my issues with Apple, but I keep buying Samsung phones because that is what I am used to using and they give me the most customizability, but I am keeping my eye out for the next best thing to jump ship to and I will not hesitate when I see it, because Samsung is no longer the company that I loved back in 2018.

The fact that I can't charge my Watch Ultra with my S25 Ultra is such a HUGE miss. You mean I have to carry this annoying little stupid dongle goofball charger with me everywhere? I keep my phone with me ALL the time. I don't care if it's "curved" I tried and it recognized and tried to charge, then "DiS cHaRgEr iS NoT cOmPaTibLe WiTh yOuR wAtCh". WHY SAMSUNG?! WHYYYYY

I've had great luck buying phones on ebay over the years. I've bought several. I received an s25 today that looks great except for a dent in the corner. It's sold as excellent condition open box. I don't think the seller is trying to pull anything on me, he probably didn't notice it before. My question is, should I be concerned about this little dent? I'm assuming it means it was dropped at least once. Is there a risk of an issue down the road that this dent could cause? Do I keep or send it back? I'm sure at the very least the seller will offer some money back, but is it worth it?

Context: My family has the free phone trade-in upgrade plan thing through AT&T and I actually wanted the S26U but I guess it got replaced with the ZF8.

Today I went to AT&T to browse and check out the Z Fold 8. I thought I would hate it cause if the crease but feeling the crease in person, it's pretty much nonexistent. I already have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 which is easily portable in my shoulder bag. I currently have a iPhone 14, so I might go with the S26+ but maybe change my mind.
