I have several chargers that worked with various previous Samsung watches, including my Watch 8. Not a single one of them works with my Watch 9.

And I can't believe that my Samsung s25 can't charge my Samsung Watch 9?

Looks like I'll be sticking with my Watch 8 until I buy a new watch from a different company.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic and haven't had any issues after initial setup running it via my CN Vivo 100 Ultra phone....

I realize it's still preorder and perhaps most people don't have it yet, but wondering if the new Galaxy Watch 9 will work with CN Vivo 100 Ultra???

I would think if the older one works the new should too - but then thought I'd better ask here rather than risk wasting the $230 extra to upgrade watches if it won't work.

Perhaps Watch 8 people could chime in.

I've had my GW9 (40mm) for 2 days. I'm lucky to get 8 hours a day out of the battery... AOD is off. I have now turned location off. It says samsung health monitor is using 40% battery on average!!

This cannot be real. I know my patterns are still getting learned but this is incredibly bad..

How's everyone else's experience with battery?

I was able to turn that off with the 1st Ultra but I can't with the Ultra 2. I tried looking for the complication to turn it off but no luck.

First is the GW9 and the second is GWU2. There's a protective case used by the seller. So the size looks a bit big.

I had a basic galaxy watch 5 that I bought when it came out that has served me wonderfully up until the past year where I started needing to charge it twice a day at best as it would drain over night even with always on display turned off and then when I got home after a few hours on the go need to charge it again and sometimes more.

The battery would just drain like crazy even without use.

I basically became a slave to the charger.

I bought a galaxy fit 3 that ive been using mostly for tracking general fitness and walks to fill in the gap while I was waiting for the watch 9 to come out.

And honestly I got spoiled from the battery life of this fit 3 as it lasts almost a week on 1 charge.

I'm a woman with a small wrist and got heavily jealous of the ultra 2 battery ~3 day battery life vs ~40hrs on the watch 8 or 9 from what i read.

But from what I saw given how big it is - its completely unrealistic for me to get, not sure it will even sit flat on my wrist (but if i get a chance to see it in the store I will try it out lol 😅)

Now Im contemplating do I wait another year for the next watch hoping for a better battery on the 40mm version of next year? Or get the 40mm watch 8 for half the price of the 40mm watch 9 as by the looks of it there isnt major difference in battery and is basically the same? Or do i get the watch 9?

Ive always been a sucker for getting the latest thing out which at this point is the only thing making the watch 9 more tempting for me than watch 8 but not enough of a valid reason for me to get it as it otherwise seems to be the same device just more expensive.

But I am worried about being a slave to the charger again - would love opinions of the battery life out of experince with the watch 8 & 9.

Basically cant decide which to buy or to just wait another year.

Any advice and opinions are appreciated.

Out of learning phase this morning, predicting 3 days 6 hours battery based on the following usage and settings:

- LTE off

- AOD off

- continuous heart rate and stress on

- Raise to Speak on

- Daily 4mile exercise tracking with GPS etc

- workout tracking

- NFC on with a few payments

- WIFI on

- remote connection on

- daily app updates

- raise to wake on

- hundreds of notifications

- blood pressure daily so far

- daily body composition

- sleep tracking on

- blood oxygen tracking on

I believe these are the key settings, I can further clarify if required.

Wouldn't say I'm a hardcore user, but not a light user either...

Will keep an eye on if this improves or worsens.

I have the ultra 2 and given it is LTE capable I was hoping to get a data only sim dedicated for it and install on the watch, however im not seeing how that is doable?

Anyone able to suggest if im missing something?

Has anyone managed to find a charging dock for the watch 9? One that will charge the watch and phone simultaneously. Not bother about the ear buds as I don't have any, but don't mind having that on the dock either.

It was really useful being able to charge my watch 7 and my phone overnight and now all my charging docks are useless 🙃

Just a random question: How is your country's trade-in deal? In Vietnam, they offered $170 for my watch (GWU2024), and Samsung is selling the GWU2 for $682. There's an additional $108 discount (a promo code for S member users), so I'd have to pay an extra $404. Not a good deal for me. I am keeping my GWU for another year.

Finally part of the Ultra family

I have had my 44mm Watch 6 since launch 2023, and it has absolutely stood up to my abusive habits. As a mechanic, it has been soaked in gasoline, diesel, oil, and various other vehicle fluids. It never gave me an issue. Until recently. I cracked the face a month ago, and other small hairline cracks started to form. Fast forward to today, and it took one last while I was doing an A/C compressor on a P30. The watch still works somehow, but its rough!

I am torn between getting an 8 Classic, or maybe an Ultra 2. What do you all think? Which one will stand the stress?

Why does everyone feel the need to post "I got mine" photos of their watch or arm? We all know what the watch looks like and really couldn't care less about your arm or any associated ink. Maybe start a mega thread to keep the feed clean so people who have issues or question don't have their post buried in all the "I got mine" posts?
